I have a tooth that really needs to be extracted and it had a build up of plaque behind it but they tried to convince me that it was a serious infection. They called me to move my appointment earlier, and I agreed to come in 30 minutes ahead of schedule. An hour before the new appointment time, I even called to ask if they were running on time because every previous appointment had already been 2 hours behind. The front desk told me, "Yes, we are on time." I arrived 15 minutes early, signed all the paperwork, and still ended up waiting until almost my original appointment time. Once I was finally brought back, the doctor cracked a joke, gave me Novocaine, said he'd be back, and disappeared. Forty minutes later, I was still sitting there numb with no doctor or staff in sight. At this point, it had been well over an hour without the doctor even starting the exam. The front desk staff should not be working in customer service. They were unhelpful, showed no remorse, and acted like this is something they constantly hear complaints about. Sadly, I doubt anything will change, but do yourself a favor and find another dentist

For example the doctor told his staff to conduct a CT scan. Never quoted a price. After I was told it cost almost $1000 but that I'd be charged 50% of their earlier lower price (almost $200). And they proceeded to bill my dental insurance the entire nearly $1000 for the imaging (which my insurance denied). I'm scheduled for extraction and implant early next year but when I asked for the cost I was told they need to calculate it and let me know. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. I like Dr Tassone as a dentist but there have been times from visit to visit that his diagnosis changes. I don't want to change dentists but now getting teeth cleaning elsewhere. I'm aware opinions can change and different dentists offer entirely different treatment options. What I don't appreciate are my dental insurance benefits getting wiped out before I can blink twice. After that I'm on my own and having to decide if want to pay the high rates.

The office is tidy & has nice decor in the waiting room & even in the bathroom. The quality of care was top notch really. They have some cool technology & it eases the nerves. What is more interesting is a strange experience I have never encountered in the past: Dr Joe held a negative personal bias against me because I share the same name with somebody he had a problem with in his personal past. I work in the intelligence community and have very little contact with the outside world. I know everyone I have had contact with in the past 20 years. I am absolutely certain I have never had contact with him. He continued to maintain that negative attitude toward me. He treated me like some like of criminal even though I paid for everything in full and in advance. Any time I tried to start a friendly conversation or ask a serious question he would clam up and say little. But with other patients he would go on and on and just would not shut up. I had other dental procedures that I had paid for in full, and they were never completed because he would constantly delay with no explanation. What is more: he has his friends and family write reviews for him on Google. He also pays for fake reviews on Google. If you study the reviews for his google page, you will find that a lot of the reviewers have the same divorce lawyer in Knoxville, Tennessee and the same tax attorney in Chicago. This is the kind of childish behavior you should expect from joe. Dr. Joe lacks the experience and maturity to be trusted with important medical procedures.

What makes such a difference for my wife and me is that Dr. Arroyo explains your options and isn't trying to "upsell" in any way.
