On June 24,2026 at 6:51 p.m. a major wind blew thru our yard. We were not home at the time. There…read morewas severe damage throughout our neighborhood and along the gas line adjacent to the back of our property. We had a silver maple tree in our back yard that had to be 100 years old. We have lived here since 1976. Brown Tree service had cleaned and trimmed our trees 4 times over the years. The wind that blew through ripped off 4 major branches 12-18 inches in diameter. 2 landed in our garden bed on top of our potatoes, 1 landed on our fence, and 1 landed on another garden bed of ours. Our tree was not diseased at all. In fact, the branches that were ripped off looked very healthy. We called our Aborist, Ken Brown that night. When he was able to get back to us (about a half hour) he'd be here by 6:30 the next morning. He was true to his word. He walked out back, surveyed the damage and said that this was going to be a removal, not a salvage. He said he would have a crew on site within an hour. Again he was true to his word, the crew was "johnny on the job". The crew worked so well together. They also had to take care of another tree that had also lost a branch but just needed minor cleanup. Ken was by several times while they were working. It took all day but the clean up was fantastic. He told us that because of the other tree damage around the area he would be back the following week to grind out the stump. Once again, on the following Wednesday, his man showed up and really ground out the stump. He was here for three hours making sure that the stump was ground out almost a foot below ground level. Ken Brown has always done a professional job maintaining our trees and did a superlative job. We plan to replace our tree this fall after consulting with Ken. We wouldn't trust anyone else to do it.
