I was skeptical of an earlier PPI the dealer obtained from another local mechanic.

Turns out, it stemmed from my battery replacement not being finalized by AAA which caused problems with the car not shifting from first gear to second gear. Not only did Raridon not even address this issue in their $8,000 quote to me and that it wouldn't be fixed. Dougs even figured out the issue with the computer showing a number of nonexistent issues - it was a computer glitch. Rairdons didn't question the computer and was happy to try to take 8k of my hard earned funds unnecessarily. Rairdons knew this happened immediately with a transfer of the battery and I specifically told them that I suspected it had to do with the battery. They didn't even inform me that the shifting issue wasn't addressed. I asked what happened to the shifting issue. By then I'd already found Doug's and was going to give them a chance because of a really great initial conversation that showed me they knew much more than the Jeep Dealership. Josh explained about. They only charged me for a single hour of work. In my opinion, they undercharged me. It was an incredible experience and Josh knows his s***. I'm 63 and female.... Rairdon saw me coming. (One of the worst things Rairdon did was tell me they could have this 8k worth of work done by the end of the day... Really?) Josh and Tony are fabulous!! Teresa

Josh and the team and Doug's are nothing but kind and helpful. I've never felt like I was being taken advantage of or overcharged. They always let us know after our appointments when there may be things like new tires or brakes that we have to consider in the coming months, so we always know what to expect. Not only that, but when my husband's clutch went out last year, the first thing we did was call Doug's and, even though that isn't within their remit, they gave us a great recommendation for who we could have our car towed to for the repair. We moved from Kirkland to Seattle in 2020, but continue to drive over the bridge and drop our cars off for each service appointment because we like them and their service that much!

Truck still ran poor, brought it back so they could see if the coil or spark plus were firing correctly. They were he replaced the other 7 coils, and recharged the air conditioner which was not mentioned, when I complained he removed the charge. My wife noticed a handwritten charge on both receipts, finally figured out it said card run fee, because I used my charge card, both times the fix cost over $1200 each, then the charges for fees on credit card was $97.41 no where did it state I would be charged a fee for using a credit card, our friend who works for mac recommended him, I would not. They work on cars and fix things and charge huge prices, when I called two other mechanics I have used before, I was told the total cost for the coils and labor would be $899 minus 20% for aaa discount. Make sure IF you ever use these people you tell them not to do any of the work until you hear from them on the amount before the work is started.I'll be calling my back once this clears through and file a dispute on charges not authorized.

That said, Corey has lots more experience and knowledge than I do (I tell him what I think is wrong, and half the time he suggests maybe something else, and darned if he isn't right! I'd have found it eventually after everything else I did didn't fix it). My suburban stopped running down in Utah one hot summer and had to get towed to a shop 80 miles further down the road (that night's destination, actually, lucky me..) - called Corey for a first 'second opinion' and after symptom discussion he suggested over the phone an overheated original fuel pump - never woulda thunk it, bad gas?, fuel filter?, computer?, yea.. fuel pump? Nah.. - the Utah shop replaced the fuel pump and confirmed it. I learn something new every day no matter how hard I try. My advice is that when you find a good mechanic with integrity at a reasonable price, stick with him. He's more than a mechanic, he's a trusted friend now. Even though it's not to my benefit to recommend him (hard enough getting an appointment because he's pretty busy as it is), I selfishly want him to stay in business, so yea, I highly recommend ProCar. (BTW, that 1-star rating back in 2018 was a vehicle with all the emissions stuff removed. State law at the time would not grant a waiver in that situation - the emissions equipment at least had to be present. Everyone involved came away with a 'bad attitude' about it).

It had been variously diagnosed as coming from the right rear wheel bearing but changing the bearing made no difference in the sound. The most experienced mechanic thought it was a problem with the differential and others thought the transmission was to blame as it only happened in second gear at around 3000 RPM. Some shops said there was nothing wrong with it and walked away. Others just referred me on to someone else which is how I came to be on Tony's doorstep. I was beginning to think I would have to just drive it until something fell off or broke and then I would know for sure, but Kirkland Transmission came so highly regarded I just had to give them a try. With the first test drive Tony couldn't hear anything wrong either but to his credit he asked me to demo the noise. I was barely out if the lot when he said he heard it. The appointment was scheduled and an hour later the problem was fixed. The noise came from the exhaust pipe rubbing against the body of the car, but only when the harmonic vibration was amplified by RPM and motion of the car. He made a simple repair and only charged me for an hour labor. Tony never gave up and was committed to the highest standard of excellence. He even called me a week later to make sure it was fixed and that I followed through with his suggestions. What a guy!
