What can I say????…read more Super good! I went for Pho mainly. I was going to try a different restaurant the day before called Pho Vietnam, but they put a bad taste in my mouth before I could even try it. I'm glad I didn't, and I'm glad I tried this place instead. Menu has a good selection. Seems like also some Chinese American food. I got a Thai tea; which was amazing. I ordered a grilled beef banh mi that came with a side salad! Sooo big and huge.. Then I ordered steak pho with tendon... I ordered a small and it was more than enough. Good portions, flavorful and had some good depth. Good amount of veggies to add to pho.. I dipped my banh mi into the pho and that takes it to another level. It was nice inside the restaurant, the ambiance was nice and calm...service was good and helpful. I couldn't finish all my food and was able to pack it all up. I will definitely return.

It tasted very bland and salty. Hi the pho combination's broth tasted so plain that i just tried to eat some beef out of it and couldn't even force myself to eat the pho noodles. the mongolian beef tasted just like soysauce dumped in. The waitress didn't even check on us. After we finished eating, i have to go up to the cashier to ask for a to go box for my chicken wings and ask for the bill. She gave me a box and walked away. After i boxed up my wings, i had to go back up to the cashier to ask for the bill n paid it then. I didn't leave any tip nor did we finished any of our foods that we ordere. we ordered combo pho, combo padthai, mongolian beef, and vietnamese chicken wings. the padthai smelled burnt n didn't taste good. The pho broth has no flavor. The mongolian beefs tasted like soysauce was dumped in.

Ichiban and I have a funny history. Let me explain: I was…read moreborn in Rapid City and spent half my childhood there. When I was maybe 5 or 6, I went to Ichiban for the first time with my dad and his friend. My dad used to come here a few times every week when we lived here- he even knew the owner and was well acquainted. But, I was a young American kid, trying sushi, which is a very hit or miss cuisine as it is. I hated it, and I remember trying an ice cream they had there (green tea I think), and it was a terrible experience. My 5 year old self never wanted to come back. Now, being a mature 20 year old (sometimes), I have developed quite a liking/ obsession with sushi. For Easter I was planning to see my family that still lives in Rapid City, so I wanted to go back to Ichiban to try and reverse my bad memories of dining there. This didn't turn out to be quite as glamorous of a turn around as I had hoped. Ichiban is a very casual Thai & sushi place, so you don't have to worry about looking nice or keeping it formal. The menu featured an insanely long list of special rolls, which made it very hard to choose. As much as it pains me to say, I was pretty disappointed in the food. "Da Bomb" roll was pretty decent- that was my favorite roll I tried. But all the other rolls, they were really average and just not high quality. I've had some pretty great sushi and Ichiban just did not hit that mark in any way. Even my dad, who used to come here all the time, agreed that it was a big let down and the quality of the food has plummeted since we lived in town. It's just really unfortunate. The service was decent, our waitress was an adorably smiley lady and she kept up with us well. And even though I now appreciate sushi for all it is, I still don't wish to come back to Ichiban if I have other options. Sigh.

I don't eat the bun, so no comment on that aspect of the "sandwich" - only judging the meat. It was extremely tender without an overabundance of fat. I added the Carolina sauce which, while thin, was fabulously flavored. Speaking of fat, the beans were chock-full of meat, not just pork fat. They were perhaps a bit over-soft from the warmer & sweeter than I'd normally like, however, they were still quite tasty and super thick... stick to the fork thick! The slaw was traditional - crunchy cabbage and carrots in a thin mayo based sauce. The small menu has been addressed repeatedly, but I'll say it again: regular fare is pulled pork or all beef hotdog - special of the day can be chicken, brisket or ribs. I like the simplicity of it. When you do something RIGHT, there's no need for fluff. The chicken sold out around 5pm today, as I was in line. So, looks like we'll add that to "next time"

My nephew mentioned wanting bbq yesterday so I scanned the areas probably from at least Wall, SD and this seemed like the solution. Pulled pork was juicy and a show stopper. If you can handle a bit of the heat go for the Bourbon hot one. It's not too hot and way more unique. I regret not trying the coleslaw, may have been a wow factor. My sons weird about shredded meat so we got the chicken thigh sandwich. It was juicy too and great option for non pork eaters

All those flashy billboards along I-90 had us expecting something special from Firehouse Brewing…read moreCompany. Instead, we drove 75 miles for what turned out to be a disappointing and overpriced first-night meal in South Dakota. From the moment we walked in, something smelled "off." The service was mediocre at best, and the food was downright unappetizing -- barely edible. The prime rib was overcooked and desperately needed seasoning. The creamed corn tasted straight from a can, and the mashed potatoes were so dry they practically crumbled apart. No one at the table felt their meal was worth the stop. And the one thing everyone raves about? The famous house-brewed root beer. Unavailable. The substitute? "House strawberry lemonade" that tasted like Minute Maid with strawberry syrup mixed in. Seriously?! For a place with such incredible marketing and nonstop highway hype, the actual experience fell completely flat. Maybe it's time to light a fire under the cooks and servers, because this felt less like a legendary South Dakota meal and more like a red-hot disaster of a family dinner. I'd give 1-star for food but 5-stars for incessant marketing along I-90 There are truly much better options for your money in-town.
