Chrissy's is more a theme of a local pub. 1/2 is a small bar with some gaming and the other 1/2 is their restaurant. We wanted to try them for dinner. The dining area offers tables and booths with many tv screens to watch sports and news. They are very friendly, service with a smile and aim to please everyone. They offer daily drink and meal specials at a decent price. We tried the fish dinners which come with fries, hush puppies and a little coleslaw. I really liked that the condiments were individually packaged both ketchup and tartar sauce. The food entrees came out piping hot and were plated nicely. French fries, both beer batter and breaded fish weren't a bit greasy and no oil was on the plate. The hush puppies were a nice touch lightly seasoned. The cole slaw had a unique touch with pineapple in it. It sounds weird but it was a nice accompaniment to the rest of the plate and tasted good. I wish I could give the fish a better score as it was delicious but I felt the portion of 3 thin finger type pieces could have been better. I've visited Chrissy's Gaming Bar and Grill twice. The first time, I was impressed -- it felt like a great place to hang out and watch football on Sundays, and nothing was changed during halftime. Unfortunately, my second visit for the Super Bowl was disappointing. At halftime, the volume on all TVs was turned down, except for one that wasn't even showing the game. Only after customers complained was the volume turned back on, and by then the show had already started. No explanation was given. The experience felt unwelcoming and inconsistent. Because of this, I chose to leave and won't be returning. I hope management reflects on creating a more inclusive environment for everyone. read more

Chrissy's is a surprisingly large place, due to a back dining room adjacent to the bar. When we visited the guest bartender, Jeff, was so friendly and fun. The food was pretty mediocre bar food, and the kids mac n cheese seemed a bit over priced. (We also ordered fruit as the side and received fries.) They had a 1/2 price wing special, and the sauces were pretty yummy, but the wings were VERY breaded. Finally, I felt really bad for the server who shared that it's usually not very busy yet they had two bartenders, a barback/bus boy, AND the server. The owner was also assisting in running food. My husband and I have become regulars at this place. The food is great, the prices are MORE than fair. Although it is a bar, they expanded it to be more like a restaurant environment. You can bring your family. The main reason we go back is because of Michelle, the owner. This gal is the sweetest pea EVER. We just love her. I went to Chrissy's last night for the first and last time. The bartender was so rude to me. She was very busy but you don't take it out on the customer and be miserable like that. Also we had went there for dirty bingo and it was so unorganized it still hadn't started when we left at 815. So my last review a few months ago I gave 5 stars-food was great service was good. Went in again recently and sat at the bar. To us, the bartender's whole demeanor/attitude made it perfectly clear he did not want to be there. Not friendly at all (even though I tried to chat him up a bit), barely looked at us, didn't ask how food was (that part was good at least!). Not a good attitude to have in this industry-I know because I worked it for 20+ years. He was not busy and chatted with one guy but the rest of us were obviously an inconvenience. Nobody in the dining room but still took a while for someone to take our order and a while for us to get our food. Chicken tenders and onion rings were overcooked in grease that needed to be changed. So after the last couple experiences that I've been here, that have been pretty crappy, I thought I'd give them one last chance when this came up on a social media page I figured how can it go wrong? Well, let me start first of all half the food kept running out, they had one container of syrup that had to be shared with everybody in the place (one bottle moving from table to table instead of putting it out like golden corral does where everybody can just use it) now we had to pass it, move it now This person has no syrup, now this person has no syrup. It's insane. And annoying drinks were continually empty. There were people that couldn't get silverware! The server really doesn't have that much work because we're basically serving ourselves with the exception of drinks Then we got the bill. I'm looking at it. If you look at my pictures, the coffee that was sitting as it was part of the buffet I have eaten there enough to know that coffee is not usually sitting out there like that everybody I asked, and yes I did, understood it to be that way only I'm the one that said something about it so the waitress said oh well if it's a problem, I'll have it taken off for you. I said yes please. Then she comes back and says we can't take it off so and so says so. I'm thinking OK well, I'm never coming back here and that's my final answer on top of that we got dinged with mandatory 20% tip which if you see on all the advertising here it is not mentioned that there's a mandatory tip in addition to the $17.99 per person. Pics are attached as proof. I don't like being forced to tip that much. Now before anybody comes at me keep in mind the service that we had that barely warranted 10% and that's because it was Mother's Day and I'm not a complete jerk but definitely not 20%! 20% is like you've done exceptional Most places as a standard of eight or more yes there's a mandatory 20% gratuity. AND IT IS PRINTED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE MENUS ETC!! There were two of us and I went three times without drink, couldn't get syrup, never got the barbecue sauce for the chicken tenders that I asked for at all so I didn't even eat any of them, the food wasn't even worth $7.99, not to mention $17.99 Don't even get me started on the fact that we got charged an alcohol tax now OK it was not a lot. It was only 50 something cents but the fact remains we had coffee and iced tea and two waters now to my recollection, Those are not alcoholic beverages, so if they're doing that to every person that's in there plus that "mandated" tip (which yes I also questioned what that was on the bill and she said yes that's my tip and gave me a little smirk) Do that to every party that's coming in there and a lot of people don't even really look at the bill. They just take out their card and pay think about how much extra money that is across the day!! I had heard the Friday Fish Fry was awesome so I decided to check it out. But despite the delicious beer batter, my fish was SO greasy!! Crunchy on the top and completely soaked in grease on the bottom, even after I tried to wipe off the excess with my napkin. Cole slaw was good, but got the a super small container -- same size as the ketchup cup!! And, I liked the hush puppies but if I wanted more (it was an all-you-can-eat entree) the wait was unrealistic, after sitting so long for our food. Sadly, the service was a bust too. Outwardly flirting, smacking each other on the ass with towels, there's a male bartender/ bar back who flirts with the bartenders & customers. Very unprofessional. Not sure what his job is, stands around on his phone a lot. Then there's a bartender or server with a resting bitch face, stares rudely at customers with her fake eye lashes. I really want to like this place as it's a local Carol Stream bar. But every time we have been in over the past few months the service has been eh at that. The drinks take a while to come out. The wait staff has been kind of rude. The mentions about the "regulars" being taken care of before anyone is true. Maybe if customer service was looked at as important, they would get more service? It's in a great location but it's just lacking. And for the life of me I do not get why people seem to like the breakfast here. I've had the breakfast a few times. Every time the table of more than 4 orders the food comes out just a couple plates at a time. So half the table is eating while the others are still waiting minutes later. Terrible food, and even worse service. Do NOT come here unless you only want a semi-lukewarm beer, and are satisfied with waiting 20 minutes for another one. Draft beer isn't even cold, and if you get a drink on the rocks, be prepared to pay $3 extra for the ice. Not even good ice or bigger cubes - the same ice that goes into every other drink. You don't lay that much for the fancy ice at a place in Vegas!!! Food orders take forever to come out, and the wings were downright cold when they came to the table. The only reason I didn't return them is because it took 20 minutes longer to get my food than the rest of my family, and my kids were ready to leave. Servers are passive aggressive if not downright rude to any costumers who come in with kids. They are always talking on their cell phone at the bar in front of customers. When I brought this up, she said she was talking to "the owner" about our kids. This is clearly a place that discourages families from coming in, and only caters to their "regulars" and personal friends of the servers who sit at the bar. I really want to love this neighborhood bar and I'm sure that with time I will. This place is not very far from where I live and I love to support small businesses. I discovered this place from my bf. I came here for the first time to catch a Cubs game. Got there kinda early and we scored seats at the bar. I ordered a beer to start off with and I asked for a food menu. I went with a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. My sandwich was ok, nothing amazing but it was just fine. The fries were good and the food came out fairly quickly. We were there for a while and I noticed that a lot of the patrons were friends or family of one of the owners. Everyone seemed to know each other. After a few beers I had a Bloody Mary which was surprisingly delicious. I was so pleased with it that I had more than one, just to be sure I liked it. The second time I was here I stuck to beer and I ordered a gyro sandwich. Well... the gyro meat was dry and not good at all. I ate what I could but it was not good. Dry meat plus a few slices of onion and tiny pieces of tomato. The bar is decent enough to watch a game, drink a beer and go home. I will be back just because it's close to home and I really want to like them. Both times I've been there they have ran out of certain liquor. You're a bar, how is that you are running out of alcohol? The service was just meh. The bartender did not keep my water full, she was mostly interested in talking to her regulars and really paid very little to whether or not I needed anything. If only the service and rest of the menu was as good as the breakfast. I have been 4-5 times and the food has been god awful outside of breakfast items. Pizza tastes like cardboard, wings aren't tossed in sauce you select, chicken sandwich was dry, etc. Only thing more disappointing than my food was the service. Painstakingly slow despite the place being empty, treat you like a burden, had to get own silverware, 3 orders before drink was correct. If only they cared as much about customer service as they did their phones. Also not family friendly. Overall environment is decent, restaurant is clean bar seemed nice, food is definitely nothing to call home about but some dishes will send you home, some are far tooooo greasy. Having said that prices aren't to bad, though daily deals are okay, I don't know if we just had bad luck but the waitress was a joke, her name was Ashely made a racy comment and I quote "Hablo Ingles!" When we didn't respond to her in seconds, and yes she tell yell it because we were overlooking the menu, and had an overall snobby attitude towards us for the rest of the night. In my opinion this place will be is a good place. But they need to focus on customers service training. There's servers act as if they are paying for the food we Ofer. Poor follow up don't even greet you or come to check if we need anything else. Had to Go get my own drink and check...big mistake to ask another server to give me my check just to receive an attitude and a statement that they were busy seriously? She was putting away glasses.. My sister had her daughters first birthday at Chrissy's today. It was nice to have a separate room for the party. The food was really good. The waitress Angie was awesome.
