There were no delays and zero miscommunication. Their system is outstanding, providing real time updates and video links so you can actually see inspections being performed on your vehicle. I never had to call once for a status update. The facility itself is just as impressive, clean, organized, and hazard free inside and out. At best Christian Brothers is full of novice mechanics at worst they are a shady greedy business. I took my truck in for routine voluntary service. I follow the OEM service recommendations pretty meticulously. One of the listed services at 100k miles is "drain and refill transfer case fluid". I come in at 92k miles and ask what the Christian Brothers recommend. Of course they recommended over 3000 dollars worth of service. I declined more than 2,000 of it. One of the service's I didn't decline was "Transmission fluid flush". This was a service Christian Brothers recommend. I didn't bring this to them. It was recommended to me. A quick google search, "Should you flush the transmission fluid on a high mileage vehicle", says "If your fluid is old (over 80,000-100,000 miles) and has never been changed: Do not flush it.". 10,000 miles later. My transmission is trash and needs to be replaced. Another shop says it's 2 quarts low and full of metallic shavings. This other shop was immediately concerned when I told them it was flushed 10k miles ago. Says they never perform flushes on fluid this old. I would like to give Christian Brothers the benefit of the doubt and assume they are just unintelligent novice mechanics running a shop that's good for oil changes and that's about it but I can't help but wonder if they just recommend as much service as possible. I've taken about a year to ponder over leaving a review or not. Me as a person: Naive, trusting, mid-20's, knowing nothing about cars. Issue: My 2014 Kia refuses to drive over 45 miles per hour. Jiffy Lube: "We cannot work on a car that has the engine light flashing" I coast down the hill to a place that has "Christian" in the title. Naive, naive, naive. The place is willing to look at my car that day. Wonderful. It's the morning. They'll let me know when they're done. I walk all over Evans since it's a lovely day. They have my car past 5:00. So it's been... 6-7 hours. Luckily I didn't have work. Finally I wait in the building so I don't get locked out past closing time. Eventually, I'm told "You're going to need an entirely new engine. Your car isn't safe to drive." I'm shaken. I had just bought the car less than 3 months ago. I ask if they know any tow truck services they trust so I can take my car home, as I was a pharmacy technician at the time and flat broke. I had spent that March through August walking everywhere I needed, so I just accepted my fate of walking everywhere once more until I could figure out how to save for a multi-thousand dollar fix. The person at the front desk then says "Oh, it's not serious enough that you need a tow." My inner dialogue went "Hm.. but you just said my engine needs to be replaced. My car isn't safe to drive... why WOULDNT I need a tow truck?" So I pay the $91 diagnostic fee on my credit card, a bit dumbfounded that $100, which was the equivalent to working 6 hours overtime at my full time job to afford the service, fixed nothing. My engine is to give out at any second, but I'm okay to drive home? Quite embarrassed, I called my veteran friend who came over that afternoon, ran a test on his diagnostic machine, and asked if I hit a bump recently. I did. He told me I had activated some sort of knock sensor when I did that, which then activated a safety mechanism, which was why my car wouldn't go over 45. He cleared the code on his device, and my car was magically fixed :) A year later, my car is still running great. No further issues. So I recommend avoiding this place. My friend fixed the issue in five minutes for the price of a thank you coffee while this establishment took an entire business day to attempt to scam me into buying a whole new engine without clearing the code to allow me to safely drive home until I could afford their "fix." Anyone who knows the driving culture in Augusta would understand that driving under 45 is dangerous business around all the irritated, impatient car-owners in this city. I don't appreciate anyone who uses scare tactics to uneducated, trusting people. It's embarrassing to be treated as if I'm stupid when in reality, I never had a father to show me how to run simple tests on my car to try and resolve issues myself. My car felt a little wobbly so my SO recommended I look into having the shocks replaced since it's also getting up in the mileage. I also asked to have Ny tires rotated and aligned. First, I always really appreciate when the service desk also can speak knowledgeably about services and answer questions. Second, CBA was on time, easy to work with, and extremely pleasant every step of the way. They found my tires needed to be replaced and recommend I not both with the rotation and save the money. They do not do tires but recommended a tire shop. They noticed a few other things that might also help and gave me a quote for that and also a quote for the items I should look at replacing during my next routine service. I never felt like they were up selling me at any point, if anything, they were very thorough in understanding my problems and their recommendations. They came recommended to me and I can't say enough nice things about them. They do quality, honest work and have excellent customer service. read more

The waiting room is SO nice and clean - more so than any other car care business I've entered. I was offered bottled water while the front desk employee gathered information about how long my service would take. My car was ready when promised and spotless when I picked it up! They had washed and vacuumed it and left a cute little bag of candy on my dash - what a special touch! I have been using CBA for years, but unfortunately this week was my last. I brought my vehicle in because my brake pedal was spongy. I was given an estimate for several issues they recommended to fix, but for the brakes they saw that the rear brake pads were low, rotors needed to be replaced, and one caliper had locked up. Just for the rear brake job and caliper replacement were over $800. Getting a large estimate it's took me back a minute, so I asked a lot of questions. Working with a budget, I approved the rear brake job with Mike over the phone. The next day at lunch I received a call from Mike saying they were finished, but unfortunately the brake pedal was still spongy and it would take replacing the master cylinder for another $200+ repair. This was not good news hear, especially when the original digital vehicle diagnostic report had the master cylinder checking out (attached photo). I told him to hold off on doing anymore work and that I would pick up the vehicle. When I got to CBA, Mike was on lunch break and I was given a bill with a $100+ overage for a brake fluid flush that I didn't approve. Already frustrated that the issue was not fixed and that they had my vehicle inconveniently overnight to do a brake job, I asked a lot questions. That's when Kristie got involved. Her tone became very aggressive. She had a preconceived opinion about me because she told me I complain every time I come in. Wow! I have been a loyal customer for years who has given CBA a lot of money and business. I was frustrated, but I didn't feel like she was willing to listen--which reading other reviews seems to be an ongoing issue. She mistook my questioning and holding them accountable to me being petty. So here is a recap of my concerns: 1) Took my vehicle to fix a problem that didn't get fixed. I was first charged over $800 for a service, even though the original diagnosis report for what actually needed to be fixed--the master cylinder--checked out ok. 2) Hold vehicles for two days to do a rear brake job. 3) Charge me for services I didn't agree to. Thankfully the manager (or someone) hearing the conversation walked by and said, "just take it (the brake flush) off the price." Which they did. If he was a manager, it would've been nice for him to get involved, but he just walked off. 4) Kristie was disrespectful and didn't know how to handle the situation calm until the end. I even told her that this would be my last time, which was meet with snarky responses like, "great, please don't come back." I couldn't believe a business would respond this way. This review is obviously my biased opinion, but somewhere in the middle has to be the truth. Maybe this is isolated, maybe Kristie was having a bad day too. I take responsibility for any of my miscommunication and frustration on my part. But it was such a bad experience, there's no way I could ever trust them with my vehicles anymore. read more

Paid 400$ for these "tests" and was told they fixed it and my cars a/c was blowing cold air and works great. I picked up my vehicle and on the drive home, it blew nothing but air. My Honda Oddessy needed realignment/suspension repairs after we moved here. I did not make an appoinment and just drove over to the shop when I saw the engine light. The parking lot to get into this place is a little tricky at first if you are turning left, but it is well marked. The front desk staff is very friendly and they offered me a water and a quick shuttle. The only concerns we had were that sometimes we would get an email update or sometimes a phone call. So, that was a little confusing at first. Also, they are not opened on the weekends. We started getting nervous the work would not be completed by Friday afternoon, but it was. Overall, a friendly atmosphere and the owner was the one driving the shuttle. read more

My family has used Christian Brothfor a very long time now. We have brought multiple cars and recommended many people come to Christian Brothers for their automotive issues. In the past they have always done a great job fixing any issues we have had with our cars and doing it in a timely manner. Recently, that has not been the case. In the past month my dad has had to take his car to them 3 separate times, because they could not find out the right issue. That right there seems like a scam because they are charging for multiple unnecessary services because they do not have the ability to actually find out what is wrong with a car. A few days ago, I dropped off my car because there was a loud whirring noise. I get a call that night saying that they can not find any problems with the car, and that they are unable to replicate the noise. That is just not possible, which tells me they are not qualified to be working on peoples cars. The next day they tell me multiple issues that it could be, all extremely overpriced, some overpriced by thousands. How do you go from not being able to find any issues to finding some major issues overnight? As if this is not bad enough, I return to pick up my car, only to find it in worse condition then before, and I cannot even make it out the parking lot before the check engine light turns on. This morning I looked at their reviews and found that somebody else had the EXACT same problem with them. I do not think it is a coincidence. I do not recommend that anybody uses Christian Brothers. Clean! Well mannered! Customer Friendly! Timely Diagnosis and repairs! This automotive repair shop is conveniently located off Washington road next to Sherwin Williams(or what used to be the Kentucky Fried Chicken) and across the street from that flippin egg in Evans, Georgia. They didn't have an appointment until Thursday, but welcome to drop it off which we did. Texted us back that evening thanking us and letting us know a technician had already been assigned. They texted the following day to let us know the diagnosis. Sent another text to let us know when parts would arrive. Texted on Friday around lunch time to say the repairs were complete. They don't leave you wondering and you don't have to call to find the status they will keep you informed. Even gave us a couple tokens of appreciation for our business, nice touch. They don't force any unnecessary repairs on you, but will let you know what else you may want to fix in the near future at no additional charge, military discount as well! This company charges way too much for its services, and they are also indifferent to customer needs. On their website, it states that a shuttle service is provided when cars are in shop for more than 1 day. My car was in their shop for more than 1 day. I called them to ask for a shuttle service so I could get my car. They refused, saying that the distance was too great. It is a 23 minute drive. They stated that they only provide shuttles if "it's like 10 minutes from our shop", which is not what you find on their site. They offered to charge me an uber and add it to my bill as if that was some kind of substitution. The individual I spoke with from the shop expressed that I the customer was to blame, and was not apologetic in the least. When you abuse your customers, it does not go well for you. I have been to Christian Brothers two time. The first was an oil change and everything went well. The second time was for an oil change and to check a tire that was losing air. We dropped the car off the evening before. I received a quote of over $700 for oil change, two kids of filters, some other type of fuel injection service, and was told the tire had a nail in it and could not be repaired as it was too close to the sidewall, so I would also need 2 tires and alignment.. I agreed to the oil change, tires and alignment. When we got there at 5:00pm I was asked to wait a few minutes. Then I was told that they do not sell tires there, so they took my car to Discount Tires up the road and they had to go pick up my car. First of all, I should have been told they don't sell tires, and I should have been asked was it okay for them to take my car up the road. I was told they were on a phone call when Discount tires called to say my car was ready so that is why it was not there. I ended up leaving after 5:30. As I got in my car, I noticed someone had reset my Driver 1 seat settings to suit themselves- not good. Number 2 there was a tire lock kit on the front seat, which I assume Discount tires used to unlock my tires, however I already had one of those in the truck. As I looked at my bill, I was charged for that kit as well. But, I got a little pack of candy left in my car to say thank you. Safe to say we will NOT be going back to Christian Brothers. This company does not live up to its "Christian" values. I took my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee there for servicing for what they diagnosed the need for a new thermostat and the oil pressure switch. They "fixed" my vehicle and about a month and a half later my car overheated and the engine locked up after a road trip. Being that my car had never overheated and I had just gotten it fixed we took it back to Christian Brothers and they told me that I needed a new engine because it had no compression. They did not say what exactly cause the problem but quoted me $4500 to replace it & charged us $113 for the diagnosis. We then took my vehicle to the actual Jeep dealership where they took my engine apart and did a full diagnostic only to find out that the bleeder screw was not closed on the new thermostat which led to engine failure. (Repair cost over $10,000) After explaining to the manger, Kristy, the situation she was very objective and felt as if they didn't cause the issue although my vehicle had never had any major issues prior to their servicing and was still under their service warranty. I even asked to speak to the owner and was told repeatedly that he wasn't available. The final time I spoke with Kristy she was rude, had an attitude and was very insensitive regarding the situation. I will never use this company again and hope that no one else has to experience such hardship with heartless, unprofessional people. read more
