This was probably the only location that i had yet to visit. So yesterday i found myself in the area and i decided to drop by. Lucky enough it was TACO TUESDAY! I was Happy to find out that Taco's were $1 but was surprised at the size of the itty bitty tortilla...but I guess you get what you pay for. Still... They were delicious. I would totally recommend the Beef taco! My waitress, Tara, was nice and very attentive. She was also very very cute! There was a live band playing old school jams at the time so in was very loud, but enjoyable. They have certain specials every day of the week. So go ahead and look at their menu and stop by when you see something the sparks your interest! Altogether Christian's Tailgate is a great place for burgers! That is what they are known for! Boom! I walked in here tonight around 7 forgetting that the Rockets were playing play-off basketball and the place was packed. I luckily got a table and I couldn't believe how good the service was. This was my first visit to this location, I usually go to the midtown location. The food(chicken tacos, a slider and fries) was just as excellent as the others store and I just can't get over how good the servers CS was. I might start hitting this store for lunch from time to time. It's seems like good service is getting harder to find so I'm happy to find that this store is being very well managed. Mehhh this place is nothing exciting. Went here for the first time with my colleagues for happy hour after work. The service is subpar. I mentioned to the waiter my interest in the $1 tacos for Taco Tuesday and she failed to mention ahead of time that I must order 2 drinks before getting the special. We also ordered nachos to share and they were okay. They were not life changing but they got the job done for an appetizer. At the end, the waiter asked if we wanted to split our bill between the 3 of us and we said yes, but yet she still brought out only one check. What? This was the worst food ever. Award winning burger my butt, gross meat had no flavor and was tough yes tough. Cold fries sent them back and got soggy under cooked fries. Ketchup was soured so we had to get another bottle. Onion rings were less than par and the catfish was saltly overbattered oh and the fried pickles were just gross! 35$ lunch that was a total waste. The only thing they probably do well is poor a beer from a bottle to a glass. Great sports environment and that pretty much sums up this review. Just dont eat here at all. I have been going to Tailgate practically every day since I moved to Houston. It was just close to my hotel at first, but now I stop in a few days a week to say hi and enjoy the atmosphere. All the girls are super friendly... And some of them were actually my first friends I made in Houston. My favorite waitress, Airel... every time she sees my face she brings me my tall Blue Moon with an entire half an orange I require to enjoy it... It's a laid back place that I would choose over hooters or twin peaks any day. read more

Thank God we sat near bar area bc the bartender waited on us. I say this after walking in - in front of a waitress we sat down & waited. No hello, no menu, & she clearly saw us come in as she did many others & just took off. I thought at first i was wrong & she was just a patron bc I saw her go outside & smoke off a guy's cigarette at a table outside. I got a plain burger and substituted my fries for fried okra, because I love fried okra and was excited to see it on the menu. The burger was good, solid, but nothing amazing and the fried okra was good. My boyfriend got the bacon bacon burger and it was "ok" by his standards. Not worth it for the price if you're just going to eat, but they did have a lot of tv screens with 3 different football games on This place is good for when you want to watch a game and have some decent food to go with it. However, don't expect the waitress to be familiar with the beers on tape and what their flavor profile is. read more

I was a regular at Christian' Tailgate on HWY 6, but after my experience Sunday I am asking all of my friends to never patronize this place ever again. I was on the patio and two servers came out and never greeted me or asked if I wanted anything to drink after 15 minutes. Then I went inside and ask for the Manager and she took over 10 minutes and so I left. I love the fried catfish basket, but I won't spend my hard earned dollars in there establishment ever. read more

While I would've given this place 4/5 stars in the past because my husband went there quite often after work, and the FEW times we went as a couple it was a great casual date night, but after our experience Dec 2018 we will never be back. After a work Christmas party my hubby and I decided to take advantage of our kid free night and have a couple of beers and appetizers before heading home. My husband, the regular, was in the restroom when to my surprise I was abruptly attacked by the manager on duty and some server side kick with a snotty attitude who believes she knows me. (Never met her.) The server says to her manager that the Saturday before my husband and I got into a huge fight and they had to kick us out. Ummmm no...Wrong couple. Totally not us. I was completly taken off guard, but assumed my simple, "Sorry, I think you have us confused for another couple," would suffice. I was LITERALLY floored when they accused me of lying about who I was and being there the night in question. When my husband came out of the restroom and saw what was occurring, he attempted to explain/clarify a few things. He mentioned that HE was there that Saturday, but I was not. ( I was home, asleep with our kids.) He even pointed out to him the name of the bartender on duty that night and that her boyfriend, Jason was there. To further explain he says, " ask your DJ/karaoke guy Chris Nierman. He was here that night, and I used to be his boss plus he knows my wife, so he would be able to tell you for sure that she was not here and that was not us." Can you believe they are STILL adamant it is us?? They are STILL kicking us out for something we did not do. This waitress stood by the manager with her annoyingly smug face while he told us we had to leave AND that we needed to pay for the beers we ordered, but hadn't even taken a sip of. Are you kidding me?! He really thought we were going to pay for beers that he wouldn't even let us take a sip of? I don't think so. I was shaking I was so upset about this experience. My husband and I went in there in a great mood just excited to spend some quality time together. We were even excited to eat some of their shitty bar food, and potentially get some of their shitty slow service, and gladly use their dirty restrooms JUST so we could hang out together and be close to home when we were done. My husband was so disappointment that out of principle he cannot ever go back there now. He loved decompressing there after a long night at work knowing it was right down the street from our home. Sucks for Christian's too... my husband was a general manager for 9+ years at a very well-known restaurant in the area...so we have wonderful relationships with tons of industry people....as well as business people in the Energy Corridor from multiple fields. Additionally, I am a local real estate agent who does a ton of business in this area, with clients who trust my opinion about where to dine and hang out... especially since before real estate I worked in the local restaurant industry--and I've lived in the area for almost 15 years...so I have a ton of recommendations and knowledge. Not only will Christians tailgate not be a recommendation, I will do my best to steer anyone I possibly can away from the place since management clearly has his perverted head up his teeny bopper power hungry cocktail waitress's ass. The waitress didn't know what a "PBR" was so I was instantly fuming. After about 4 minutes our beers FINALLY came out. The waitress also promised a complimentary "selfie stick" with our meal that never came out, which was disappointing because we were really looking forward to a group picture. After receiving an over-cooked steak, I realized they forgot my side-salad. Near the end of our meal the waitress forced us to close out because another shift was about to start. I'm giving this place 2 stars b/c it is a nice bar but HORRIBLE service! I sat at a booth for 20 minutes while waitstaff after waitstaff passed me by. The waitress (Dennis?) that I am guessing was supposed to be working my area was too busy doing who knows what, but I sat there and watched her asked everyone in the middle seating area (which was not far from me) if they needed anything but she never approached me. I could understand the wait if they were busy but they were not. This review is based on three things; service, food/drinks, atmosphere. Food/drinks: The food here is absolutely fantastic! I can't say a negative thing about it! I typically get the burger, because they really are some of the best in town, and fried pickles and am always very happy! The fries are delicious as well! They have a fairly wide list of beers and drinks so there is nothing to complain about there, everything has always tasted wonderful. If I could give them 5 stars just on food - I would! Atmosphere: This is a great place to watch a game, they have plenty of TV's and large tables to fit large groups. The sound is always onto the game that most people are there for and you can hear it well without it being deafening. For the most part everything seems to be clean, although they could redo some of the tables and chairs because they are starting to show their age. They have a really nice patio that is great to sit at if the weather is nice, and you can bring your pups! I would rate this place somewhere between a 4 and 5 stars for atmosphere. Service: Sadly, this is where the place losses almost all its value. It is a coins flip if you are going to get served in any kind of timely manner. We have been there multiple times and our different waitresses are too busy taking pictures with random people to refill our drinks. They don't come by often to check on you to see if you need anything or if everything is okay - you usually have to flag one of them down and then wait a little longer before your waitress can find her way over to you. I would understand if this place was ever popping, but it just isn't, there really isn't an excuse for it. We typically see one of our waitresses standing near the bar chatting with the other waitresses and then eventually she will come over when she is done. They never seem excited to be there and almost always have an attitude. There have been really good waitresses before who have done really great jobs, but they don't seem to last very long and are usually gone within a few months. If I could rate the service at this place it would be somewhere between a 2 and 3 stars. So to summarize, if you are not in any kind of a rush and want some great food and don't mind being ignored, this is the place for you. I suggest, getting pitchers of whatever kind of drink you like or you will be waiting a long time for refills. read more
