I have always found unique Cards here for those special occasions. My business cards come from here...yeah! you can order them online and be just like everybody else but here you get hands on care, they call, fax you with proofs to make sure you are getting EXACTLY what you had asked for and my cards came out AMAZING so amazing that everybody comments on them all the time. And the best part is the Holidays, when you want that special decoration that no one else will have well I HAVE IT B/C I SHOPPED AT CHRISTIE, they only get a few of each pieces so you feel special. If I could give Kim at Christie Manhattan Beach more than 5 stars I would! I worked with Kim to design my wedding invitations and, like most brides, I was very particular with what I wanted. I almost got my invites custom designed online for a much higher cost, but I found Kim on Yelp when I was looking for someone to help me print guest addresses for my Save the Dates. When I met Kim and worked with her on the guest addressing, I knew I had to work with her on my invitations. Throughout the entire process, she was so patient with me and met with me multiple times sifting through paper colors, font styles and types of printing processes, before we put in my order. She was very helpful in providing advice, but not making me feel like I had to take every piece of advice she gave me. She also helped me figure out a way to stay within our budget without compromising too much of what I originally wanted. She also was great at communicating and keeping me informed along the way, and is just overall a sweet person who I enjoyed working with! I had my 30th birthday party invitations made at Christie's and they were AMAZING! Kim was so creative in putting together a gorgeous leopard and hot pink invitation that were tied into my theme of "my favorite things"... She also helped me create a small box to send with the invitation that had a gift for all of my guests. She provided me with thank you notes to give to my guests, as well. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I was in search of elegant wedding invitations and stumbled upon this place from previous reviews. Like many other brides, I visited Papyrus, Paper Source, and of course, the place I refuse to name in Newport Beach. I didn't want my guests to look at my invitations and immediately know that I had them done at Paper Source. Great store for other types of invites, but personally, I didn't want it for wedding invites. The store in Newport Beach was worthless. The staff had too much attitude. I didn't want to spend my hard earned money there. The gals at Christie's (Christie, Kim, and Mara) were a complete delight to work with. I feel like I have known them for years. They were highly professional, personable, lovely gals, and most importantly, they know their stuff when it comes to wedding invitations and all the etiquette that goes along with sending and addressing wedding invites. I also had my Program, Menu, and Thank You cards printed by Christie's. They came out ULTRA perfect. I had so many compliments from friends and family at the wedding. I had a fabulous experience with Christie's and am looking for a reason to come up and hang out with the ladies at the store. They are just like the bar Cheers. You walk in and everyone knows you by name and you just pick up where you left off. They are worth EVERY PENNY. Like most brides, I started off looking online for wedding invitations and quickly became overwhelmed and frustrated that I couldn't find exactly what I had envisioned. Thank goodness I found Kim at Christie Manhattan Beach! When my fiance and I first met at her store, she took us through the whole process, step by step to create our custom wedding invitations. She had books full of designs, font styles, paper options, color schemes, and every other detail down to the last decorative squiggle. I really appreciated meeting with her in person to get hands-on with this personal project and to be on the receiving end of her knowledge and expertise only made the entire process that much smoother. With her gentle guidance and polished taste, she helped us create table numbers, welcome signs, escort cards, and wedding programs in addition to our entire wedding invitation suite. Our dream personalized invitations turned out more beautiful than I ever could have imagined and we have Kim to thank for that. Christie and her team are amazing! A true gem, especially in the wedding industry. My fiance and I used her for ordering our wedding invitations and Christie was really patient with us, she gave great advice and was attentive throughout the entire process. We were in her store for over 2 hours and she never got impatient with our millions of questions. When the invites delivered, she hand counted the order to make sure we had every invitation in the box, which turned out to be a good thing since the vendor missed one. I wanted to print the addresses on the invitations and asked her for recommendations for printers in the area. She informed me that she could do it but would cost more than a trusted invitation shop in Redondo Beach. I though that was really neat that she wanted to save costs for me. If I could give more than 5 stars I would have. Kim is the best ever person to work with on invitations, stationary and paper goods. She rocks! ! I needed to create an affordable but really special invitation for my daughter's bat mitzvah. Kim was recommended by a friend. My daughter and I picked out some samples from pinterest and sent them to Kim. I also gave Kim my budget parameters based on what I spent for my son's invites two years ago. Kim then met with my daughter and I and together my daughter and Kim created a really spectacular invite with my daughter's own unique twist, paper and colors that expressed her theme and vision and some very special touches too. Kim then worked directly with the printer and put the elements together herself so we could stay in budget (something very unlikely had we ordered directly from one of the books). Kim worked with me every step of the way to get the language right, layout and even helped me create an affordable insert for our out of town guests at the last minute. Kim also found a BOGO deal for the informals we wanted to use as thank you notes. She delivered the invites as promised, on time and to the budget and estimate (no surprises) and when I noted we were missing some extras she got those to me as well even though the problem was printer loss. Our guests have been raving about the invites. Comments like " most exquisite invite I have or will ever receive" "so beauitiful and classy", " nicer than my wedding invite" .... I would use Kim again in a HEARTBEAT!!!! The outcome was amazing, the process painless and my daughter could not be happier or more excited (which mattered the most to me)!!! I spent the same amount as I did two years ago with an on-line invite person for my son's bar mitzvah but got a much better invite (higher quality, much more special). After browsing through many online wedding invitations that either looked as cheap as its price or required fees for sample pieces, my fiance and i decided to go the traditional route-custom ordering through a stationary store. We checked out Papyrus and Paper Source. Loved them both but employees there just weren't that helpful. They were either understaffed or just didn't know what they were talking about. Then we came across Christie's at Manhattan beach, referred to us by my colleague. She ordered hers there and was 100% satisfied. When we walked in, we noticed that the store was very elegantly decorated..sets you in the mood for buying wedding invitations for sure! BTW, they specialize in all sorts of custom invitations for those of u interested in something else. Anyway, right away we were greeted by one of their consultants. She immediately sat us down on this long table (yes, lots of room for browsing) and started pulling invitation books that she thought we might like after hearing our preferences. And guess what, we found an invitation taht we both fell in love with within first 15 minutes. We weren't quite ready to buy at the time though so we kindly thanked her. She gave us colored copied images of that specific card and its price list. We went back to Paper Source just to make sure we didn't miss anything the first time around. We saw the same exact invitation there and for the same price...however, after waiting for someone to help us for about 20 minutes, we were still unattended for. We said, forget it, let's go back to Christie. 2nd time at Christie, again, we were greeted immediately. We went ahead with that 1st invitation and the lady there spent almost 2 hours with us helping us pick wording, color, font, print style, design..etc... gosh, without her, we wouldn't know how our invitation would turn out. And, like she promised, we got our invites within 2 weeks after the order was placed! what more can you ask for? Go to Christie's next time if you feel like splurging for fancy invitations and demand quality service! read more

Yay Yelp for coming through again! My fiancé and I were pretty overwhelmed with the invitation process. We combed through the books at Papyrus with very little help or interest from the sales people. We were nervous that a smaller stationery store would jack up the prices and that wasn't true at all. Kim uses the books and price codes that come along with the invitation books. So not only are you getting the same price, you're getting amazing service and input! Kim clearly cares so much about what she does and will work tirelessly to help you create the most perfect product. She knows so much about what looks good and has an amazing eye for detail (something I lack when it comes to "pretty" things). I'm looking forward to being able to use her help again! read more

LIke others who have posted here, if there were a rating higher than 5 stars, Kim would earn that from me. My son was very particular in his vision for how he wanted the place-cards and table signs to incorporate the theme of his Bar Mitzvah party. He is a passionate kid with strong ideas. And I am terrible at visual design/crafts. Fortunately, our event planner put us in touch with Kim, who listened intently to my son's ideas, built on them, and brought his vision to life in a way I don't think many people could. Her place-cards and table tents were vibrant, beautiful, and highly personalized. When my son saw the finished product, his face said it all - his jaw dropped, a smile opened up, and I got a huge hug (which was really meant for Kim). And somehow, Kim achieves this all at extremely reasonable prices. What a value. I would work with Kim again in a heart beat for any paper products/design needed for any future event.
