I don't recommend her. She didn't tell me what was really involved in a gum graft, weeks of special diet. She didn't tell me the gun grafts could fail. When it did fail she blamed me and the only solution was possibly cutting into my fascia which I would never let her do. Another dentist told me that I could've had a dental appliance to protect the graft where she just put a little dressing that would fall off when you eat read more

My husband needs to go for a deep cleaning twice a year. They have canceled on him on both appointments. All for "family stuff". Coincidence that one was canceled for the holiday weekend? Once maybe, but twice in a row and on a holiday weekend. So I won`t be taking the chance that the next one will be canceled. I am done with them. I've had two gum surgeries with Dr. Ford and was very pleased with the process, the staff, the results and how painless it was. The most recent one was just this October, 2015, and it involved "pocket reduction gum surgery" - there were no complications, the procedure was right on time and absolutely no pain during or afterwards. I had a gum graph done by Christine Ford back in 2009. She told me she would graph a tooth that was slightly low because I was getting braces. I then asked her to graph a baby tooth as well because it was a bit thin, she said no problem. During the procedure, I woke up to a room full of people staring at me. Later realize these were students there watching and learning. I will say I believe I should have been asked if this was okay. Never a mention of it. The graph she did was not good, she left a hole that was impossible to brush and later developed a cavity. She didn't graph the other tooth as she said because a few years later, I asked for pictures during of the procedure, it shows an opening on one gum tooth surface only. I just had to have some of my jaw bone restored, making it possible now to have a tooth implant, to replace a tooth I lost when I almost died. In the jaw bone regrowth surgery she had to do a "Sinus Lift" on me as well. Wow! I had no idea this could or should be done! I noticed right away that I can breath so much better on that side, than I have in many years! It's like I got a "Two for One!" The Sinus Lift came along with the jaw bone regrowth surgery! As a long time, very satisfied patient of Dr. Ford, I can say with confidence that you will find her to be both an extraordinary periodontist and a genuinely caring, empathetic and kind person. Did I mention witty and a pleasure to be around? That she has surrounded herself with a team of hygienists, assistants and office staff who are equally professional, caring and kind-hearted is to her great credit and theirs; I truly appreciate each and every one of these hard-working women, too. While Dr. Ford's bio (check it out at her website, www.santarosaperio.com) speaks to her extensive education and training, there is much more to this woman than an impressive resume. She is committed not only to pursuing and mastering the most innovative periodontal technologies, therapies and materials available, but to achieving the absolute best possible clinical and esthetic outcomes, as well. (I was distressed to learn at one point that I needed two quite complicated implants, but the process was all but painless and the results were fantastic . . . and gorgeous!) Dr. Ford maintains a highly progressive practice with unquestionable integrity and ethics, leading her to a treatment approach that is thoughtful and undogmatic; I can trust that she will recommend the more conservative option first, where such is warranted, without having to worry that she has a built-in bias toward a more invasive, possibly unnecessary, one.
