This was a very disappointing experience. Not only was the premise of product pickup questionable with animals roaming around the premises where food items were being manufactured. The owner over promised and under delivered. The cake decor was sloppy and a far cry from what was communicated. I didn't send design inspo to be greeted w a computer paper logo copy printed and stuck to the top of the cake. Additionally a gross satin ribbon was used as decor to adorn the marginal tasting cake w frozen filling. Buyer beware! read more

We were heading up to Paso with some friends for my husbands 50th birthday. I wanted to have a special cake made for him, but not knowing the area or the bakeries around there I turned to yelp. That's where I found Christine! What a great lady!! We emailed back and forth a few times with pictures of what I was envisioning and as the date got closer we finalized everything with a phone call. We decided on a 9 inch chocolate cake with a delicious chocolate mousse, because I figured what goes better with red wine then chocolate cake! She even hand-delivered the cake to the restaurant that we had reservations at that night. The cake was perfectly decorated and absolutely delicious! It can be scary, ordering a cake over the phone from somebody you've never worked with before, because they can be so dry and lack flavor. Not this cake! Thee (and I mean thee) worst cake tasting ever. My fiance and I came with high hopes and a positive attitude as a result of reading reviews on yelp. We had one cake tasting before and still wanted to see what Christine had to offer for our wedding cake. For $20 we were given 4 mini (and I mean mini) cupcakes to taste. The cupcakes were covered in saran wrap implicating that she had baked these the night before or longer. The taste of the flavors she offered reminded of the flavors they offer at Vons... drab and drab. She did not ask me how I wanted my cake to look like. When I finally showed her myself, she insisted on putting ribbon on the cake even when I insisted that I didn't want ribbon. I am guessing she likes to do this to avoid having to put work into her cakes. As a budget conscious bride I also asked her if we could have a sheet cake in addition to a smaller 3 tiered cake. I tell her it would be more cost efficient and it would save the catering company time when it came time to cut the cake. She responds with, "You are not there to please them." I had high hopes for Christine's Cake Creations and I was ultimately let down. Her cake designs were typical and her flavors were dry and forgettable. The worst part of the experience is how cold she came off. She did not want any small talk and did not seem like she cared about what we wanted. The whole experience lasted 5-10 min and it took us about 30 min to get there. The worst $20 I have spent. The worst customer service. This is my first Yelp review. I couldn't let other people be tricked by the other reviews. I hope this helps. read more

Very happy with the cake I ordered for my sister-in-law to be's bridal shower in Cambria. I knew it would be a 1/2 hour drive to pick up but it's beautiful drive and Christine's quoted price was very reasonable so I did not mind. I never talked to Christine, but handled all correspondence and arrangements via email, sent her a couple of photos and it was all very simple and convenient. To say I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up the gorgeous cake is an understatement. It was bigger than I expected, and more beautiful. Everyone raved about the flavor (pink champagne with vanilla filling), and the cake retained its moisture and flavor and was just as good the next day. My SF family and LA family decided to meet in the middle -- Paso Robles -- to celebrate my nephew's first birthday. She was a breeze to work with over the phone and e-mail, guiding me through all the customization options for our cake. In the end we got a cute, delicious, moist banana cake with walnuts and chocolate filling. My sister-in-law declared that it was the best cake she had ever had, and nobody disagreed. Plus, it was only $20 for a cake for 6-8 people (we had 8 adults and still had leftovers) and a complimentary smash cake! We emailed a few times, I picked out the flavor and Voila!. I picked up the cake on our way down and it was an amazing pink champagne with fresh raspberry filling creation. It was a hit! Everyone loved it. My two brothers who are not cake people each had 3 pieces. My husband also very picky when it comes to cakes enjoyed it immensely. The cake was moist and perfectly sweet (not at all that over the top sugar coat your tongue like frosting). She was friendly, professional and confident when helping to suggest things like serving size and recommended flavor combinations.
