This past week we went to Paso Robles Bakery on Spring St. to try their tamales and tacos. It's a small business. The place is real clean, the people are friendly and their food is more than on point. Whoever their cooks are, they make that food with love. Their sign said they have menudo on Saturdays and Sundays. I woke up this morning craving menudo so I decided to go back. Got me a Menudo to go and ate some when I got home. Talk about some DELICIOUS menudo with all the fixings - cilantro, onions, lemon, chili and oregano. It has to have been one of the best I've ever had. Tasted like better than home. Fresh, delicious, not greasy and LOTS of good flavor in that soup. I totally recommend this place. read more

This place was absolutely worth the trip! We were staying at the Marriott in Paso Robles, and although this bakery was a little farther than some of the other breakfast options, it was definitely worth the quick drive. The food was outstanding, the prices were very reasonable, and the service couldn't have been friendlier. We ordered three breakfast burritos--one with each type of meat--and every single one was delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite because they were all packed with flavor. The salsa was fresh, spicy, and had just the right amount of kick. We also picked up a Mexican pastry, which was the perfect way to finish breakfast. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly...even if they were Dodgers fans! As a loyal San Diego Padres fan, I had to give them a little grief, but they took it in stride and made us feel right at home. It's refreshing to find a place that serves high-quality food without charging outrageous prices. If you're in Paso Robles and looking for a great breakfast, this bakery should absolutely be on your list. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in town. read more

I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito with added potatoes. To put it simply: it was amazing. Every single ingredient in this burrito works in absolute harmony. The melted cheese and refried beans hug the chorizo and potato. It is so hearty that after finishing just the first half, I felt ready to take on the day. Pairs super well with their home made salsa. The cashier was super friendly and the food came out incredibly fast. The best burrito spots always tend to be the most lowkey, and this place is no exception. I'd come across this bakery and was thrilled with all the rave reviews and many mentions of breakfast burritos. We had some early wine tastings booked and weren't super hungry yet, so I ended up picking a Chorizo breakfast burrito for two of us to share. It was definitely a good sized burrito and one would have been more than enough, but I think next time we would each opt for our own if we were even a little bit more hungry. I just stopped in when I saw the really good Yelp score and I was looking to grab a breakfast burrito before hitting the road back to L.A. All I have to say is the Egg, Bacon, Bean & Cheese burrito is one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had! It's amazing, and the fresh handmade tortilla takes this burrito to a whole other level. The proportions of the ingredients inside (which I believe is VERY important when rating a burrito) were perfect Absolutely no filler (like rice or potatoes) . Paso Robles Bakery was a pit stop for breakfast, snacks and coffee, and we are glad we chose a local shop than a chain! The man who worked there was so friendly and helped me pick out some Mexican pastries. The prices were amazingly reasonable, especially considering how they are all baked fresh. We picked out Mexican baked goods as well as a couple breakfast burritos. The burritos were GIGANTIC and came with some fresh salsa. They were delicious, hot, and truly "hit the spot"! Finding reasonably priced food in Paso is nearly impossible so you'll be happy to know that this place exists! The place itself is in the far north part of town. It's clean and bright inside with delicious lookin pan dulce on display and the menu shown above. The gentleman at the front was pleasant enough but the burrito I got was the star here. Filled fat with the perfect ingredients, carnitas, avocado, sour cream, rice and beans all wrapped up perfectly. It probably weighed two pounds! read more

Super great bakery in Paso Robles -- no frills, no nonsense, zero ambience but the pan dulce and breakfast burritos? SO good. The price is very reasonable . The breakfast burrito will fill you up for the entire day. It has creamy beans, eggs, bacon with the most amazing flour tortilla you've ever eaten. If you're planning on a big day at the wineries and need to fill your stomach with something to absorb all the wine to follow, definitely check this place out. Possibly the best carnitas torta I've ever eaten. My boyfriend and I stopped by on Monday for a quick bite before a wine tasting. They have fresh pan dulce and other bites here. The gentleman at the front was very friendly, he let us sample the carnitas and OMG melt in your mouth good. My boyfriend got a machaca breakfast burrito and I got the carnitas torta. From the pan dulce to the fresh bolio on the torta 10/10. I wish we lived closer since this was hands down the best food we've eaten. Couldn't recommend more! read more

Gentleman at the register was so kind and observant. It was pretty quiet when we walked in, around 10:30 on a Wednesday. There's tables inside for you to sit and enjoy your food. We ordered 4 tamales (2 chicken and 2 elote for $9.20 total). Highly recommend the elote tamales, they're extra good with the red salsa. You can see chefs moving in and out of the kitchen space dropping hot food into the deli line. Would 100% come again! read more

I had not heard of this bakery until I went to a wine event that sourced cookies from here for one of their wine pairings. The cookie was called canela shortbread....I loved it so much I asked about the source. I recently went in the bakery to inquire about ordering two batches, each for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The front staff was very accommodating and the price (for both orders, plus a bag of about 8-9 cookies to take home) was INCREDIBLY reasonable. These cookies just melt in your mouth...great with a cup of coffee or tea (or wine, apparently). Since I don't have time to do my usual holiday cookie baking this year, these are going out with some homemade Bailey's Irish Cream to some lucky friends. Their pan Dulce selection looks great. Based on reviews, it sounds like their pan dulce and breakfast/lunch selections are as delicious as these cookies. Worth the drive from South Atascadero to North Paso any day! read more

Pan Dulce, and breakfast burritos are a big hit here but this time we tried the pan Dulce. My kiddos enjoyed the fresh made pan Dulce. Breakfast burritos are made fresh upon ordering from what we saw as we looked around. Prices for pan Dulce are reasonable as we purchased two for under $7. Several months ago a coworker turned me onto this place and the name led me to believe they were JUST a bakery and deli. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out it was much more than that. This place is a counter service Mexican bakery and restaurant serving tortas, burritos, tacos, quesadillas and other traditional Mexican food. The first time eating here I ordered a chicken torta and I was immediately hooked. It was fresh and delicious. I consider myself a connoisseur of bean and cheese burritos and I feel confident in saying theirs is by far the best in north county. This is a modern Mexican bakery and restaurant. The baked goods are the best I've ever had - even including visits to Guadalajara, Mexico City, etc. ! We also enjoyed the fabulous carnitas torta and carne asada burrito. We'll definitely add this treasure as a regular stop on our RV trips.
