The service was impressively prompt, even with a line of four people ahead of me; they quickly summoned additional staff from the back. I opted to have my cinnamon roll warmed up, and it was absolutely delightful--the sugar became wonderfully gooey, and the roll itself was cooked to perfection. As for the coffee, they offered a diverse selection, and I chose the "Good Brew," which was decent but didn't quite stand out. So, Cider already kind of had me. In a non-descript (and hidden) mini-mall, Cider Creek stands tall. The bakery is the standout. Two full cases of all kinds of goodies and pies, a 1/2 case, and some of the sweet loafs available on the shelf. They have sandwiches and salads. Well-priced, and good. My take: it's good for grandma. It's a senior crowd to sit and stay, a younger crowd to get "to go". It's very clean and nothing wrong that I could see, but there's also nothing cool about it. Outside, they've tried to make it nice with vines over a pergola, a fireplace -- but then again it overlooks Jiffy Lube and they close early, so it's not like you can get a coffee and enjoy the lit fireplace. read more

Located off Niblick, in the shopping center across the street from Walmart, is Cider Creek Bakery. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating. Always welcoming! We went at the end of the day and thank God, they still had a good selection. We got the Caramel Apple Pie. This pie is awesome. Beautiful, fresh, cooked down apples, seasoned perfectly. A layer of soft, sticky, gooey caramel, blanketed above the apple filling. Sweet and toasty. Finished with a crumble/dusting layer on top. Different textures add to the bite! Cute bakery in Paso Robles! All of the baked goods looked delicious and there was a mix of breakfast danishes and desserts available in addition to hot foods. We tried the cinnamon roll which was very filling with a hefty topping of cream cheese frosting- it was fantastic! Good grub!! I have been making the rounds of the local bakeries lately, and since we were headed up north to Mission San Antonio, we decided to take a picnic lunch. We needed a place with lunch as well as baked goods and this place filled the bill. My husband got the T.A.P. sandwich with turkey, ham and pepper jack cheese on a bun, while I ordered the BBQ chicken salad. His sandwich was fine, but the bread to meat ratio leaned toward the bready. My salad was just sad. I was glad I got a half salad since it was just a bed of Romaine lettuce with a bit of diced onion, tomato, and bacon, some shredded cheddar and a very small portion of the BBQ chicken, which was the best part of the salad. The dressing was ok. In sharp contrast, the baked goods were off the rails good. The raspberry pillow was like a mini pie, while the apple "flip" which was what is called a "hand pie" in the South, was what every McDonald's Apple Pie dreamed of someday growing up to be. The S'mores cupcake was rich sweet and gooey, everything you want in a decadent desert. If we stop in again, it will be to scoop up some baked treats for another travel adventure. read more

I had been thrifting around Paso Robles and the gals at the Church Thrift store up above Niblick told me about this Bakery. A bit difficult to find based on the lady's directions, but once I put the address into my navigation on my phone I finally found it. There were quite a few folks ordering, some bicyclists and a family or two along with some singletons like me. The shop is very inviting, with lots of jams on the walls and baked goods in their cases. Not everything was labeled so I had to ask about a couple of them. It took me a while to read through their menu, which was arranged oddly. I finally decided on one of their special sandwiches that sounded interesting. It was basically a bacon, cheese, and apple sandwich with some sort of fancy sauce. I asked for mayo to be added and also some turkey for more protein. It came on sourdough bread and I got some chips as well. I also ordered a soda, which only came in a smallish cup. Since she prepared it before my food was ready I asked if I could get a refill before I left. My order was to-go. It took a long time to come out, probably about 20 minutes. I approached the counter just before they brought it out and had to stand there several minutes while the young folks behind the counter ate snacks, looked at their phone, and chatted with one another. I was standing there for about 5 minutes before finally she came over and I asked for a top-off to my soda. In my mind I had an idea of what it should taste like, but when I finally ate the sandwich I was really disappointed. I don't recall that the menu indicated this was going to be a hot sandwich!! Basically it was a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon, apple slices, and the turkey I added. The outside was nicely grilled with butter. But the inside was not what I had imagined. The bread was dry, even though I asked for mayo in addition to the fancy sauce. The flavor of the cheese didn't go with the apples. I ate it but was not impressed. I don't know if I would come here again, perhaps if I am in this area I might try some of their baked goods or a different sandwich. read more

3.5 stars! The lemon bar here was amazing!! 10/10 would recommend again. The oatmeal cookie was also very good. I would pass on the almond macaroons. The Spanish dip was also very good but sooo small for the price! I literally was not full after eating it which is so sad cause it was like 11-12$! My husband got the Asian chicken salad and that was a good portion and was also pretty tasty. Chicken was a bit salty. Some staff wore masks and some didn't. Since the city of Paso Robles encourages masks indoors and outdoors I feel like staffs at restaurants should at least abide by it. Lots of outdoor seating which was nice! read more

Haven't been here in years, remembered their peach flips so stopped by, and picked up several to take home to the family. It would be great if the flips had peaches in them! They were dry empty holes and only one small piece of peach in two of them so far. Very disappointing and not at all like I remembered. Never again. read more

Three of us came in for a pastry and a cappuccino. Our bakery items were 2 chocolate croissants and a cookie. The young woman that waited on us was really friendly and welcoming. Sadly, that was the end of our great experience. The cappuccino's tasted like they had no coffee in them. Compared to cappuccino's we have gotten elsewhere these were not good at all. Tasted like a cup of warm milk. The pastries were pretty disappointing as well. The chocolate croissants tasted like they had come from a commercial bakery. The cookie was good, but also tasted like it had come from a commercial bakery. We try to go somewhere different every month for socialization and great coffee and goodies. Maybe it was just an off day. The food here is not inexpensive, so we will probably not come back here again. So disappointed! read more

When i noticed that there was a bakery right across from a gym it made me laugh. Guilt free calories? With scones, cookies, cinnamon rolls, eclairs, muffins, jams, sandwiches , coffees and much more this is a great stop for your snacking needs. Of the three items we tried the cinnamon roll came in first place with its caramelized top and option to add frosting. The chocolate croissant was very good. The danish was okay. They have a lot of spacious seating and a nice outdoor patio. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. Definitely check them out and tell me how the rest of those baked goods are because I couldn't very well try them all myself even with the gym so near. read more

My husband hardly ever comments on food unless it totally blows. Sometimes I know he really likes something when he makes little nom nom sounds, but I constantly have to ask him if he liked what I made/what we got when we go out. We were hungry driving from SF to Santa Monica and was getting really hungry around Paso Robles. I wanted a deli sandwich somewhere close to the freeway and Cider popped up as "nearby". Score. I got the pastrami sandwich, ate half right away, and it was just SO good!! I don't know what it was, but bread was pillowy, the pastrami was sliced super thin, there were fresh greens, it was truly a quality sandwich. My +1 had the Tap Sandwich (turkey, ham, pepper jack, peppers) and after eating the entire thing in the Chumash parking garage he said, without me even asking, "That was I think the best sandwich I've ever had" I was like OMFG why tell me more but he couldn't, just said it was the best and that he will be stopping there every time he drives from through Southern California. He's not a picky eater but for him to declare this was shocking, a VERY high compliment! I also got the fudge cookie it was like a soft brownie cookie with a soft inside and crispy edges, sprinkle cookie, and a raspberry stuffed fluff which was so yummy. Fudge the best though. They also have quiche and cupcakes and so much more. HOW are you pro level at baking stuff AND sandwiches?! Hats off! I noticed this bakery about 5 years ago, only reason why I never visited was because I was always late. This time even though it was 2:30pm, I said why not even though the bake goods maybe from the morning. The building on the outside is great looking, inside was pretty nice, I was worried it would be over-rated and the product would be made on a whim. The bakery still had lots of goodies in the display and I knew I was going to have a hard time choosing. First thing I picked was peanut butter cookies, and from that point on I didn't know what to pick. I was real happy with the associate when I asked her what was popular, I have had some employees say it's all good or they don't really know. This associate took the the time to help me choose because maybe I was easy, but I ended up with whatever she told me to pick. So what I remember besides peanut butter was chocolate fudge, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle cookies. Orange cranberry scone and muffin, and I think almond joy something. Okay, of course me and the wife couldn't eat all this in one day, but by the next I can tell you it was all delicious especially those almond joy things. Normally I'm never pleased with scones but these are the best scones I've tasted in years, and the coffee being that late was great. I like to thank that associate for helping me pick. This place has deliciously, heavenly made pastries!!! Literally right next to where I live, and next to lots of other awesome stores. This place has an amazinggggg selection of pies and all sorts of yummy pastries you can think of! The inside is nicely maintained/clean. We have a history of ordering pastries and loving the product. We ordered, and purchased a pie from the bakery which we picked up this morning as scheduled. We were never asked for prepayment. There was confusion about some additional pastries, but given the volume of people in the bakery, we politely canceled that part of the order as a misunderstanding. Tonight, my wife received a phone call that we had not picked up our order. We had, hours earlier. The gentleman was aggressive, dismissive, and hung up on her with the comment that "this is why we are going to stop taking phone orders". She did not make a mistake, and he hung up without allowing an explanation. I guess these people are too busy to need our business, or maybe Cider Creek needs to take a closer look at there afternoon staff. read more

Brad claims they LITERALLY tell people they're a commercial bakery. So then why did he get his dander up when I also called them that? (And actually, they don't tell customers that. Not in person, not on their web page, and not here.) Does he expect his COMMERCIAL bakery to be able to compete at the same level as a scratch bakery, a place that uses ingredients and methods that can be replicated in a person's home? I guess so, because he sure seemed offended by my review. Between the unpleasant owner, the misleading copywriting, and the confirmation that their products are purchased pre-made (and that they just cook them), I'm removing the extra star that I had originally donated. As I explained to one person, a restaurant experience involves more than just what's on your plate. Even if the food is great, if the experience is still unpleasant due to the owner's attitude or how the place is being operated, those are going to be factored into the overall rating and are legitimate considerations. Besides, it turns out there are people who err on the 5-star side because they have an allegiance to the owners, so this helps balance those out. I'm also taking the star away because of their failure to adhere by safety standards and by state and local safety regulations during the pandemic. In a food establishment, of all places. SMH. As to the owner, it's you and your establishment that are the ones on trial here, not us. You should keep your responses relevant to what YOU do, and leave the psychoanalytical commentary to your therapist. read more
