Wish I could give it 0 stars. First time back home in awhile and wanted to try something new. Was excited to eat here, but unfortunately was greeted with GOD AWFUL SERVICE. It was a early Saturday night around 6 so it was kinda busy as the reservations started to showed up. After the drinks got out we accidentally had a spill and immediately tried to clean it up with all the roll up napkins we had and gathered most of the ice. We then asked for a towel to try and "help" clean up the mess but our server returned with more rollup napkins and did absolutely NOTHING to help with the situation, she literally JUST STOOD THERE and waited for us to clean our own table. We almost left, but decided to at least try the food, which was just pretty decent Cant wait to see what other restaurant ends up at this location since I dont see it lasting too long! This was one of the best restaurants I have eaten in a long time. Everything I have eaten was good. The 3 later chocholate cake was absolutely amazing. The staff could not have been friendlier. The location was literally only 3-5 miles down from our hotel. My meal was absolutely amazing. The water even tasted good. I highly recommend it. read more

What a nice surprise... Really solid wine list, friendly staff, good food! Stumbled upon this place while scouring yelp for something (ANYTHING!) local and original. I had a nice glass of malbec, a Greek flatbread, veggie soup, and beet salad - everything was really good. Thoughtful presentation, nice decoration and layout... they did a excellent job bringing a bit of...(dare I say?) Foodie cuisine to the area. They get points for allowing to order my tuna or Salmon pan-seared. Most restaurants won't do that and if they do they over-cook the fish. More importantly, their cook does an excellent job with pan-searing. Not only is it cooked well but seasoned well. The service is great. I have never felt I needed to hunt down my server and I don't ever feel that they are checking in on us too often. So they are in that perfect attentive middle ground that I prefer They have a good selection of beer with some local choices that are good. Great casual dining place. (Think what Bennigans, TGIF, etc try to pretend they are, but actually delivered by a home town team) Went here for dinner with three others. 3 of us had a great IPA with a naughty word in the name (Raging Bee-yotch, but the last word is spelled differently) while the 4th had a soda. I orderd the salmon, which was an 8 oz filet served with grilled vegetables (couple kinds of squash, carrots, etc) and twice baked mashed potatoes. Very good. Another person at the table had one of the artisan flats and she also said hers was very good. Two at the table ordered the 10 oz bone in pork chop that came with fried apples and red skinned mashed potatoes. THAT is the dish to get! It looked phenomenal and those two didn't say a word as they devoured their meals, but they both had grins from ear to ear. I really enjoyed my meal but I will be back for that bone-in pork chop! read more

Everything from drinks to dessert were exceptional. We started with the black bean and corn cakes which was probably our favorite part of the meal even though it was a tough choice. We had salmon and grouper as our entrees which both were cooked to perfection. I preferred the salmon over the grouper. The salads were super fresh and a nice compliment to the meal. Kinda torn on this one. I was really looking forward to the Bison burger, but it just didn't do it for me. I'm not sure what they mix in with it, but a proper bison burger should be rare to medium rare. I asked for mine medium rare and it was brown, no pink. I probably should have sent it back, but I was also on a hurry to get out of there. It didn't taste like bison. It tasted like they mixed in sausage or something else with it. If you do that, mention it on your menu. I had the spinach artichoke dip as my appetizer and it was very good, definitely one of my top 5. Service was excellent and they had quite a few bottled beers I enjoyed trying. I think I would have been happier with a different entree since everything else about the experience was great, which is why I didn't dock them more than 1 star. If I find myself back in Huntington I would enjoy giving this place another shot. read more

Food was average.. On par with other mid-price chain restaurants. They had some interesting options but they just weren't as fabulous as they sounded. I'd give it 3 stars but the service was horrible.. 2 of the 4 in my party had their orders come out wrong, and they were very slow to fix it. I doubt I'll be back. read more

We discovered Christopher's while in town visiting my mom in a rehab hospital. We had some time one afternoon and hung out here for a while. My husband went the sandwich route and had a club panini with pasta salad and really enjoyed both. I had a grilled chicken breast with seasonal vegetables and it was delicious. We had two craft beers that were as good as we've had anywhere else. Our server was very attentive, food was delivered quickly, and it was an extremely comfortable atmosphere. Christopher's Eats is a must do in Barboursville proper! I love the atmosphere. By it being in a strip plaza it may turn someone off at first site but do NOT let the building fool you. The food is outstanding in presentation and even better in flavor. If you like drinks then Christopher's could be for you too. They have beer bottles and several craft beers on tap to go alongside their above average wine selection. To go to attraction here is their wood fire pizza oven which produces delicious food and a little bit of entertainment for the kids sitting nearby. This is a perfect place for a date night or happy hour after work when you stay for dinner. But, they always accommodate families and the casual eater strolling through town like myself. My dad ordered the chicken and waffles though, and let me tell you, they were probably the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! I abandoned my veggie flat for leftovers and kind of ended up splitting his meal with him. They give you an extremely generous portion of chicken that is deliciously batter-fried and seasoned to perfection. The waffle was dark (the way I like it) and topped with a maple bacon sauce. First time at this restaurant. Came over from Charleston to try it out. Super cute decor. Server was good. Food was ok but not spectacular. What was annoying was that I asked for a grilled chicken sandwich but they said they were too busy to make it. Really? You have grilled chicken on the menu as an entree and burgers. Maybe I should have asked for the grilled chicken dinner with a bun as the side? My daughter's flatbread was loaded with toppings but the flatbread seemed to be limp. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I have been coming to Huntington since I was born and I am so happy that they have a place like this. Modern, friendly, great menu, variety of craft draft beers, and most of all great service. I had the Bison Burger and it was cooked to perfection! My Aunt ordered the Crab and Shrimp Mac and Cheese and it was amazing. My wife got the Grilled Chicken and it was a little dry but tasty. We had a very good experience on our first visit here. Had reservations for 4 and were promptly seated. Appetizers were pulled pork nachos and coal fired olives. Both were excellent, but the nachos were especially good. Entrees included shrimp tacos, filet, shrimp scampi, and arancini. Steak was perfectly cooked and a good cut. All of the other dishes were very good as well. No complaints about food whatsoever. Craft beer selection is respectable for the area, and they had a good selection of wines, sangria, and mixed drinks. Our service was excellent. She was very attentive and helpful. Atmosphere inside was pleasant and comfortable. All in all everyone in the group would be happy to return. read more
