A good evening with friends but the food (for the price) was less than exceptional. The food was good as was the service but overpriced, in my opinion. My steak was under cooked and the "pimento cheese" on the fries tasted more like nacho-style queso. I had the truffle fries and gouda mac and cheese as sides and was underwhelmed with both. They needed salt and the cheese was fine bland and no strong flavor of gouda. All in all, everything was a bit underseasoned. Went there when we were on a girls weekend. The style was really nice felt like a cool place to have drinks or do what we did which was brunch. I had the eggs Benedict which were awesome but we had a biscuit and gravy for the table because what southerner does not have biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I remember when this placed opened a couple of years ago, very exciting menu for a place like Barboursville, needless to say we had been numerous times before moving. While back in the area recently we added Christopher Eats on our list of dining options. The evening we dined in was very quiet, only a handful of patrons, so for a large family we are always welcoming of those situations. Our family members, children and teens, look over the menu (a lot larger than I remember), choose their entrees and order for themselves as they always do. I ordered the Grouper and I'm almost certain what I received wasn't Grouper at all. I'm really not sure what kind of fish it was (maybe Cod) but after living a coastal life for 12 years I know my Grouper. If by chance it was Grouper, it was sub par. The kids were also confused by the menu because they thought they received side dishes with what they ordered, when the check arrived we sadly found out, they did not. At $4 each, yikes ....it adds up. I was surprised when they confidently ordered their kids meal and a side our server wouldn't kindly remind us/them it doesn't come with a side and give us that option instead of inflating a bill. Not to mention all of the truffle fries were tiny bits, like leftovers from the day. So, nearly $90 later ....and the remnants of the day's food, I would say I walked out not very impressed. Recently visited on a Friday night. The estimated wait time was 1hr15min, but we ended up only waiting about 45 min. We ordered the pork nachos and drinks to start. The nachos were yummy and my red sangria was sweet and refreshing. The waitress was prompt and knowledgable. She recommended we order a flatbread. My date ordered the seafood flatbread and it was a lot bigger than we expected. I had the pimento and bacon burger with truffle fries. The meat was really good, but I bet it would've been better with some jalapeños on top. Overall good experience and large portions for the price. We left full and with take home boxes. Extremely pleased with this place. Beautiful building. Inside and out. Although parking was an issue I'm still pleased. I had got the pimento burger and fell in love with every bite I took. Very underwhelming. Not sure if the "coal fired" wings are actually coal fired, the seared tuna was over seasoned with a obscene amount of pepper, the shrimp tacos were bland, and the Greek flatbread was decent but definitely not impressive. We just didn't care for this place. On a side note, they got a pretty good interior designer. read more

First off, I never write reviews because a restaurant experience is subjective, and I accept just about anything because of way too many years spent in the business. However, this was hands down one of the most disgusting meals I've ever been served! I ordered the Seafood Benedict. Inedible! The crab cakes were soggy, tiny and the fishy smell was overwhelming! Crab should not smell like rotting fish. The so called biscuits were gross as well but the crab cakes were so bad it didn't even matter. While left on my plate, my server never questioned it. My husband ordered the Pumba Plate. I tasted and thought, absolutely flavorless until I got the disgusting taste of undercooked flour tortillas. I mouth full of flour mixed with the lovely taste of ashtray. Thankfully, I ordered my 7yr old chicken and waffles because we don't do kids menus. We want him to learn to enjoy real food. His meal was delicious (except for cold soggy fries). I realize wait times are never an absolute. But I'm unsure why we were quoted 40 minutes (for a party of 3) with no more than 4 tables seated in the entire restaurant. It's as if they wanted us to leave. After 5 minutes we were seated, but I wish we had left. $93.00 later (because I tip well no matter what), I am disgusted. Why didn't we complain? Because they should have asked. We were given the check well before I received my cocktail and my husband's desert. Obviously, the entire staff had better things to do than care for their guests. Btw, it's Father's Day, and my husband's 1 day home a week. Save your time and your money! Never again! If possible I would give negative stars! read more

NOT Very Impressive I had heard about this place and wanted to try it for a while. I was seated quickly and everyone was very nice. I ordered their "famous" burger and it arrived quickly enough. First glance told me the fries were overcooked and I like my fries crispy. These were as if they had fried them earlier and re-fried them when I ordered. I had also requested a lot of mayo on my burger but when it arrived I couldn't find any. I asked my server why no mayo and her response was "its on the bun." I never did find it. I had also ordered onions. There were two small slivers of a single ring of an onion topping a single slice of a very small tomato. All this dressed an EXTREMELY DRY burger patty. I won't be going back. I was really disappointed having so looked forward to visiting this place often. Save half of your money and get twice the food at Fat Patties. My grandson wanted me to take him there last evening and the food was great. read more

New place looks nice and wish I could have eaten there. However, at 7pm on a Friday, I left after being told it was a 2hr wait for a party of three. When questioning why because I saw several empty tables around, the hostess acted snooty and said "yes, even with those empty areas". Funny, no one was standing around. Just us. I'll reserve full judgment for a future time, but I don't like the idea of a restaurant in this area making me feel like I'm not wanted. read more

My brother took his kids here for there birthday as they requested it. They had a horrible experience and here is what my sisters-in-law wrote on Facebook : So birthday dinner started out great for the twin's last night but I will never go back to Christopher's The Summit ever again!!! Epic fail... The kids were looking forward to going there (we actually went 2 times before and once they were closed and once the parking lot was completely full) and they actually requested it. Food is not that impressive and basically Adam didn't eat but a few bits of his plain cheese burger. Brooke didn't like any of her food, meatloaf fries, and fried apples, I traded my food with Robin she didn't like her's either. Shawn didn't like his food either. We were told they couldn't make anymore sweet tea (4 out of 5 of us had sweet tea) after we got our refills because it was too close to closing time that we could have unsweet tea and add the sugar or change drinks. So I didn't think much about it and just thought maybe we try something different next time. Then we saw them bring a person at the bar a big sparkling thing and say Happy Birthday and the twins got nothing. We were not even offered a dessert menu or anything.... I told the server and the hostess when we went in it was the twin's birthday. The kids think that is the coolest thing ever and I don't even care to pay for it, but it was a big let down for them so we celebrated at DQ instead. Then this morning I get up and check my bank account and they charge my account 3 times!!! So I called them and the manager assured me it would be corrected in the next 2-3 business days. In town for one night and came with a group of people to celebrate my cousin's graduation from medical school. We all ordered dinner and the service was fast. The food was decent. I had a salad with Salmon and collard greens. The server promised that the greens didn't have beef or pork, but I think they did. Overall, a solid restaurant in Huntington. We googled for restaurants that have BBQ, because my husband was in a BBQ mood. This place came up, but there is no BBQ on the menu except a bbq chicken flatbread... but whatever. After really yummy crab cakes as a starter, he had an excellent pork chop and I had an excellent meatloaf, and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese as a side, then we shared a yummy brownie sundae... I'm stuffed and slightly tipsy from two very nice margaritas, he's driving so he stuck to one stout beer (it was yummy, I tasted it, too...) the waitstaff was efficient and friendly, everything was clean, I'm no huge fan of sports bars but we could hear each other over the background sounds... all in all, I'd go back, if I lived anywhere around. Food was very good BUT.....we arrived at 4:30 and were told that it would be a 30 minute wait, even though there were several CLEAN EMPTY tables available. But, in their defense, Longhorn steak house at Tanyard Station does the same thing. It didn't appear to be due to a lack of staff as I counted seven different servers working. No clue as to why the wait. And for a brand new building, it seemed poorly constructed. One of the hostesses (couldn't have weighed any more than 100 lbs) walked past our table, and the floor shook. So delicious! I went for dinner because I saw the menu had vegetarian and vegan options. had the tomato soup, perfect for a cold day. I also tried the black bean & corn cakes and the Vegetable stir fry. Although it's not your typical Asian stir fry, the spicy soy based sauce does have an Asian inspired kick. The roasted carrots, sweet potatoes and shaved brussel sprouts on a bed of rice in a bowl was very filling and tasty. It comes with feta cheese, but you can order without it. Waitress was exceptional. Very sweet. But if you look at their website you think you're going to a nice fine dining place. Not the case. Very much like a Buffalo Wild Wings. Great for lunch I'm sure, but if you want a nice dinner. It's not here. All dinner choices (that were available, some not even available at 6pm) were not good. Cajun pasta better at Olive Garden. Arancini, better at paternos at the park. They were pretty much burnt. Maybe the chef hasn't been anywhere other than WV but the food was not anything special. Save your money. Go to laurys, the block, cellar door, le bistro, these are exceptional fine dining restaurants. read more
