I go to a yoga studio in this shopping center, and so I saw this chocolate shop a lot before ever entering. One day, I noticed that they had a sign saying Coffee and it said to come in, that they're open. I decided to give it a go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow! Walking in, there's a big display case full of beautiful chocolate candies.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Reminded me of when I was a child and my granddaddy would take me to the Godiva store downtown to pick out some chocolates. These at Christophe's are extra fancy tho. They're hand painted! Well some of them are. A lot of the others are shaped like cute things. I got my friend a shark made of chocolate. It was hollow but the cutest thing was that it was filled with chocolate fish inside the chocolate shark! That's so appropriate for summer. My friend loves sharks and she loved this gift!!! Also, their coffee is pretty good, but they don't have many options for flavored coffees and lattes like I usually opt for. However what they do have usually hits the spot. They also sell deli sandwiches. I get the salami and Swiss sandwich. They heat it up for me in the kitchen. It is always delicious. You have to call ahead and it comes as a large portion for several people. Also the crème brûlée comes in actual ramekins so you can't get it to go. I would say in comparison to Croissant Gourmet in Winter Park FL the cream for the pastries isn't quite as sweet or rich. It's alright. read more

I've seen other reviews that complement the hot chocolate so I wonder if perhaps mine was made wrong? This is our favorite place to stop for delectable handmade chocolates and pastries! We feel like it's a local escape to a European bakery. We always enjoy a French press and a pastry at a bistro table outside, then we get a nice variety of chocolates for the week and head home. There's flavors for everyone! He makes beautiful creations out of chocolate that are really too beautiful to eat but would make a spectacular gift; right now near Halloween there are skulls, haunted houses, ghosts and pumpkins, as well as the regulars; beautiful turtles, high heels, alligators, the Eiffel Tower, and so on. I went to this adorable shop because in November I read food themed books so I take pictures of my books with places that correlate with the book. This shop is simply adorable! A lot of beautiful sweets. My daughter and I got beautiful desserts. I got a lemon pineapple thing and it was good but it could have used a bit more sweetness. We also got some macarons and they didn't taste right to me. The texture wasn't chewy like I'm used too (I've actually had French macarons in France before). The macarons were crispy/crunchy. I got my husband a pan au chocolate and he said it was decent, as well as the chocolate cake I got him. I tried that and it was okay. I am willing to try this place again because I have a major sweet tooth. Maybe I'll go for the actual chocolates next time. read more

Everything is so cute and adorable! My husband and I had to try a bunch of things from pastries to chocolate and macrons. Loved everything except the chocolate croissant. That has to be eaten fresh and we got there at 4 pm so it was probably made hours before. The one chocolate I had to try was the blue cheese and it was as expected! So strange but good! I accidentally gave my 20 month old a bite of the blue cheese one. Well that immediately made her stop grabbing our chocolate truffles. I guess a win win for my husband and I to enjoy the rest of the chocolates in peace. The shop is very small so the only seating area is outside and there are only three tables with two seats. Not the best location to sit and have a bite to eat when it's cold. Everything else was good and we will have to be back to try everything else! read more

My husband and I found this place by accident. We walked in and saw so many tastes desserts to choose from. They had single chocolates, regular desserts, and prepackaged desserts. They also serve dessert drinks like hot chocolate or coffee. We got the apple pastry and the chocolate Raspberry mousse. Both are very large and we could get desserts for two nights eating them. All of the desserts are made in this location. They have a window set up so you can watch them make the desserts during the day. The guy hand PAINTS the truffles with an airbrush style. I could not believe it. They looked like they were in a covering, but no it was just the chocolate. They have no indoor seating and a few tables outside to sit at. However, it was chilly so we didn't sit outside. I am sure we will go back as a cute date when it is warmer. I am so glad we found this place. read more

Christophe's sets the standard for fine chocolates and macarons (this side of the pond). The original store is located downtown on Society Street. This store is much more convenient with ample parking. There is no seating inside, but there are a few small tables outside in case you want to enjoy your treats there. This location also has classes for you to learn alongside the masters on how to make pastries, desserts, and chocolates. Ask the employees any questions as the girl who helped me today was extremely knowledge and sweet. Must try any of the hand painted chocolates/macaroons/desserts and the almond croissant. By far the best patisserie in the US (and possibly France) that I have tried. I have yet to have something I did not like. The customer service is fast, personalized and friendly. Seasonal chocolates keep you coming back for more. The fresh mint chocolate is a flavor explosion and much better than the similar style Norman Love I had in Florida.
