I really wanted to give a glowing review cause the food was good, but... 1. Service is subpar; I won't go so far as to say unkind; but they don't make you feel welcome. It was my 1st visit. I have menu questions; that must be addressed before I order, so my food allergies don't kill me. 2. I had to assemble my meal, because you can't order the food the way you want it. 3. I waited 20 minutes for my ticket, so I could check out. Then even though my payment was waiting on the counter for immediate checkout, I had to physically give them my card & check & instruct to cashed out. I've been coming to Christy's for 10 years, starting in their original small cafe location in downtown Newnan. Over the past few years the service and food has gone downhill since moving to their larger location. I decided to take my wife there for breakfast this morning and was treated so poorly by the hostess, we will never be back! When we arrived, I noticed there was no one sitting at the outdoor counter on the porch. I went in and said we would like to sit at the counter and asked if there was a wait and was told it would be 10 to 15 minutes. I put my name on the list and waited outside. After 25 minutes I went back inside to speak to the hostess and mentioned there had been no one seated at the outdoor counter the entire time we had been waiting and could be please be seated there. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but she was rude and belligerent, and actually yelled at me for asking. She embarrassed my wife and me in front of everyone on the porch. I politely said we'll simply find another place to eat. The employee created an unnecessary spectical that not only made her look bad, but Christy's as well. I heard one customer comment "The hostess must've woke up on the wrong side of the bed", several others just gasped at her rudeness. We will NEVER be back there again! It's a shame when one bad employee can ruin 10 years of good experiences there, but it's a direct reflection on the decline in management. read more

This is the first time I had a meal here with my son. It is across the street from the funeral home in downtown Newnan. The restaurant is in a two story large older house that has been styled to a restaurant. It's the type of place that makes You think you could do that with your own house. I could tell by the way the servers were talking to other people that there were plenty of regulars. My son had a pancake that was Mickey Mouse shape which surprised him but tickled him to death and bacon. I had French toast, cheesy scrambled eggs, OJ, and sausage links. They also put the butter in a side cup for the pancake/French toast which is great because I don't usually put any on there. They had plenty of omelettes (feta omelette, veggie omelette, etc.) I feel like Newnan is limited in breakfast area but this is a great option. I would def recommend and def go back read more

We have eaten at the other location and were excited to have brunch at the new cafe on Jackson Street. The atmosphere is cozy and staff very friendly and fast. The breakfast is really good southern breakfast. Lots of butter, grits, hash browns. Good selection. They even make my eggs over hard perfect, as I don't like runny and most can't seem to get it right but they did! The hot peach tea is really yummy. We deviated about 10 miles out of our way to try Christy's based on Yelp reviews. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. I'm really really glad we did! We went there for Father's Day breakfast and both the service and food were outstanding! My wife and father both had pancakes that were so light and fluffy they practically floated off the plates, not to mention the wonderful taste. I had the biscuits and gravy platter- probably the best gravy I've ever had! We all shared a side of bacon - it was cooked perfectly and again, some of the best I've ever had. I walked in and had a lot of hope for this place. Awesome environment, big menu with food that all sounded good. I ordered the chicken skillet that came out on a regular plate. No big deal but the hash browns were severely undercooked and just tasted like raw potatoes. The onions and peppers didn't look like they had ever touched a skillet or even a grill. The cheese slices weren't even melted all the way. I'm never one to put salt and pepper on a plate of food but even that didn't give the food taste. The wait staff are really incredible! The food is the problem. I had eggs Benedict ($9.50) which was eggs and ham in a bowl smothered with a yellow sauce. The eggs were over cooked and the dish was Luke warm. The side of grits was a watery bowl of something. My partner ordered an omelette ($9.00) which was basically eggs cooked on the grill with some cheese and sausage thrown in. The eggs were not even stirred together let alone whipped and then fried in some sort of grease. Absolutely no seasoning. The wait for the food was quite lengthy. I wish I could give Christys a 3.5. The food was really really good, but I'm not sure it was worth the price. I got the Mamas Omelette with hash browns and partner got the breakfast special with pancakes, bacon, eggs and added grits. The grits were an extra dollar for a small bowl and my coffee was an extra two dollars. For the two of us, the meal was a little over 20 dollars-- we found that pricey as the only leftovers we took home were pancakes. About the pancakes, they were dense and chewy not fluffy like we expected. The waitresses were nice and pretty attentive. I'm just not sure if it is worth it to go out of the way to eat here. Don't be in any hurry... but that is a good thing. The old home in which the restaurant is established is beautiful and you can enjoy the atmosphere while waiting. The staff are super friendly and helpful; You can tell it is family owned and run. The food is cooked to order and delicious. Everything here was just okay. Chicken tender plate is alright. No seasoning on the chicken which leaves it kind of flavorless. I got the Reuben which was okay. Glad I asked for an extra side of the Russian dressing, it needed it. Tater tots were good but nothing special. Definitely come from a bag. My boyfriend's sandwich was better than mine. He got a chicken philly sandwich which was good and cheesy but very underwhelming. I was mad because they stopped serving breakfast so early. I guess it's my fault for not checking but we only went there because it's one of the few places in the area serving breakfast. BAPTIZED IN BUTTER! This place was slammed today and I believe it was because of the Market Days event on the square. We found this little place with the help of Yelp and it was just a short walk from the center of town. When we arrived, we could tell that the place was very busy so we just sat at the bar (with a great view of the expediting window), and reviewed the menu. This was the perfect seat because I could see everything going and and choose my meal accordingly. About 15 minutes of sitting at the bar, we were seated at a table. It probably took about 40 minutes before our order was taken but we accepted that this was just a busy morning. When it came time to order, I chose the vegetable omelet, hash browns and wheat toast while my husband chose Momma's omelet with potatoes and toast. He also added a pancake to sample. My omelet was perfectly prepared and delicious but that toast had way too much butter. It was literally baptized in butter and I could only manage to eat one piece before just giving up. My husband enjoyed his breakfast but not the pancake. I make my pancakes from scratch and there is a significant difference between scratch and boxed, not even close! Although the menu indicates that the hash browns are made from "real potatoes", this is misleading because the potatoes are clearly processed from a bag. They are NOT freshly prepared breakfast potatoes. Despite being slammed today, customer service was warm, friendly and as attentive as it could be under the circumstances. If you plan to visit, you will want to get here early because the place is small, popular and very convenient to downtown. i read more

Awesome Cafe!!!!! The staff are all very polite and kind. Food came out in perfect time. When we arrived the waitress came over and gave my 2 year old some small blocks to play with the cook made my daughter a cute Mickey Mouse pancake. My omelet was yummy, hot chocolate was perfect not to hot or cold just perfect,grits were good and the biscuits are amazing! Make sure to try the watermelon lemonadeThey also have a ice cream counter and a ton of really neat rocks for sale. This is a great place for families and breakfast get togethers with a friend.
