    Glazed Raised

"Christy's Donuts & Ice Cream" is a donut shop in the Brisbane Village shopping center. I was driving thru Brisbane the other day, and stopped at this small strip mall for a short break. I decided to checkout this donut shop and see what's available at 430pm on a Monday. As you walk inside, there's a few tables and a "L" shaped counter area. On that day, there's was alot of stock piled up near the counter. Either they just got a delivery, or their stockroom is overflowing onto the salesfloor. The donut cases had alot of selections for being so late in the day. (The posted closing time is 6pm). I stepped up to the counter, and an older lady greeted me and asked what I would like. At the same time, apparently she was talking with someone on her cellphone. It was on speakerphone, and I could hear the whole conversation. As I was ordering two glazed raised donuts, she began talking on her cellphone and I had to wait. She goes in the backroom, and gets donuts from back there. Then I wait again, while her phone conversation continues. To be honest, I find it really annoying when store people choose to take phone calls instead of serving actual in-store customers. The proper thing to do would of been to put the call on-hold and finish serving me. Anyway, I paid $4.00 for two glazed raised donuts. The menu was incomplete, and the price per donut wasn't listed. But the donuts were fresh, and not super sweet. They were good donuts, and should earn a 4-star rating. The customer service gets 2-stars. Shop interior gets a 2-star score. All that extra stock belongs in a backroom, not piled up in front of donut cases. Would I return? Yes, for good donuts. Free parking, 2-hour limit, in the Brisbane Village Shopping Center. 100 Old County Road, Brisbane CA, near the Post Office and Community Park.

The man behind the counter is friendly. The donuts and cronuts were okay. A bit on the tough side. They can microwave them for you. These are probably leftover pastries. The ambiance is very casual and on the tight side. Probably just come here if you need something in a pinch.

This is my donut stop on Brisbane. Great regular donuts (sorry snobs, no $12 loganberry/salmon belly abominations) and they just added boba tea! My strawberry boba is amazing! Love the owner, and her family are great!

On my first day of work, I found myself in Brisbane early and wandered over to Christy's Donuts. The first thing I noticed was the popularity of this place, everybody loves their donuts and coffee on their way to work in this cute little town. People are friendly, say hello and know each other. So different from the hustle downtown, the long lines for coffee, breakfast always on the go and the Starbucks on every corner. Although donuts are not on my diet, every now and then I'll order an Old Fashioned with my large coffee. The coffee is non-fancy, cup of joe and it's good. I've had the breakfast sandwiches and bagels here. It's a nice little spot to stop off if I have time in the morning.

Maybe one of the worst donuts I have ever had. Really something wrong with the water content or something - totally soggy.

Nice cheap donuts that are not stale. It has the right crumbly soft texture but still has a crispy skin.

Great spot! Just sometimes the doughnuts taste like day olds, and they don't always have everything if you want to get big orders.

Those donuts must be awesome because the ice cream is pretty horrible. Freezer burnt brownie, freezer burnt chocolate chip.

I ordered the Godfather sandwich based on previous photos. I thought it was going to be some kind of a loaded sandwich since it was $20 after tax. When I opened the box, I was a little bit worried that I had ordered the wrong sandwich because it was about the size of my hand. I looked at the photos and I thought ma'am it's kind of looks similar, but maybe I'm just missing something as a scale. But if you look at the layers of the meat, there are actually less layers now than there were 12 and eight months ago. I'm not saying it's a bad sandwich. I'm just saying it's a bad value. The Caesar salad seemed like it was prepackaged in a box. The cheese, kind of taste like refrigerator. And there was no lemon or any kind of anchovy sauce or flavor in the dressing. At the time of writing this review, this restaurant has 4.6 stars shame on me for not reading the recent reviews because I'm not sure I would have ventured here if I did.

And it comes with a good portion of fruit slices on the side. The stuffed brioche was even better, but smaller. Prices are fair, kind of a deal actually. Service was polite, but the language barrier was significant so communication was very difficult. One area of improvement is to offer something besides ketchup and Tapatio packets.

And they've been stacking it with crab salad, mayo, garlic spread and crushed jalapenos since 1970. I'd like to tell you they haul this crab fresh out the bay, but it's actually a blend of crab, fish, and imitation crab. I don't know where they get it, but it hasn't changed in over 50 years, and that's saying something. Not much about this place has changed. Generations of Bay Area kids grew up on this counter. Most of us remember stopping by on the way to a game at candlestick park, or after landing at SFO. Candlestick is gone now, but I still stop by sometimes, usually for the crab sandwich on dutch crunch. It's not the "best sandwich in the bay area". It's not a modern sandwich breaking the mold. It's a classic. A legend. A piece of history, and it's worth going for that reason alone. But they only serve it wednesday through friday.

The restaurant offers a nice selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. I was immediately thinking this is a go for me. I entered the establishment and took note of how clean, neat and welcoming it looked. I was warmly greeted and made to feel welcomed, so much so that I decided to have my meal in the restaurant. I placed my order for a Cobb Salad and the 8" Rueben. The ordering process was smooth and easy, and the gentleman graciously offered me water to go with my meal. Nice touch. Can I just tell you that the Cobb Salad was not only beautifully assembled, it was made with the freshest ingredients imaginable. I was impressed with not only how beautiful it looked but the flavor profile of the salad. It's a big boy, definitely getting a value for money. It as accompanied with a piece of sourdough bread that looked delicious. As for the Rueben, I didn't get to eat it as I was full from the salad. As it happened I packed it up to eat later but I saw someone who looked like they could use a meal and happily gave it to her to eat. It was meant to be. So, now that I'm done site seeing, I gotta back to order another Rueben sandwich. Great food Sourdough & Co. I did return just to get another Rueben sandwich and it was delicious and worth the trip.
