This donut shop is cool because they offer lots of Filipino pastries. There also donuts and drinks. A good place to grab a pastry.

    Hopiang Baboy Flavor

My goodness!!!! I found a hidden gem in Daly City! Perfect chicken empanadas and Hopia baboy, monggo and ube. You're not gonna go wrong on those flavors! Good thing I bought all flavors. I tried it for the first time and it's super good! Superb It's all worth it driving from east bay. For sure I will come back and buy some more!!! P. S. Friendly cashier as well so 2 thumbs up for that

I don't know if I got overcharged or they're just an expensive donut shop. $4.75 for a twist and a chocolate raised. There's no prices up for the donuts.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Daly City yesterday! My family picked up a box of ube hopias, as per the worker's recommendation. This was my first time trying a hopia and I really enjoyed it! The pastry was light and flaky and the inside ube was soft and slightly chewy. Definitely coming back to try their ube pandesal with cheese!

    Empanadas

Empanadas sooo good I got the beef and chicken... when I bite, I taste the butter of the bread and the beef mix with seasoning of carrots and peas. Yum

    chicken empanada

Got the chicken empanada and ube hopia. Yum!!! The empanada had fresh warm chicken. The hopia tasted fresh and had great ube filling. Good balance between sweet and fat

It was late in the day by the time we got here, and we took a chance that we did not regret. I worried the donut variety would be limited or that they'd taste state. That was so not the case. The owner was friendly. It appeared that there was a spike in business -- a lot of folks sauntered in when we got there. We got one donut each: 2 glazed twists and 1 chocolate donut. The sweetness level was perfect -- not too much or too little. The donuts were airy and fluffy. I got a cup of coffee which kept me awake for the balance of our ride to Monterey -- a much needed thing given the heavy traffic that day. The donut shop was like many: lotto tickets & scratchers available, bagel and croissant sandwiches available, a refrigerated case with beverages, and a literal bank of coffee kept warm on a heating table.

You want something that's fresh, not fried...quick, but never rushed...and somewhere within the broad definition of a "healthy eating plan." Where do you go? Top of the Hill Cafe in wonderfully foggy Daly City. On this particular evening, I decided on the Combination Bánh Mì, which, after careful scientific evaluation, contains all the essential food groups... Meat, vegetables, grains, and a little pâté for good measure. And of course...A Diet Coke to keep the calories in check....It's called balance. I found a quiet table, expecting this to be a simple "eat-and-go" meal. Instead, it turned into one of those sandwiches that quietly reminds you how extraordinary simple food can be when every ingredient is thoughtfully prepared. Let's start with the baguette. A beautifully golden crust with just the right amount of crunch, giving way to a soft, airy interior that was light enough to absorb every flavor without falling apart. Every bite delivered that satisfying contrast between crisp and pillowy that defines a great bánh mì. Then came the fillings...Silky pâté...Tender marinated grilled pork...Savory Vietnamese cold cuts. Each one bringing its own texture and depth while working together in perfect harmony. The pickled daikon and carrots were outstanding. Bright, crisp, pleasantly vinegary, with just enough sweetness to cut through the richness of the meats without overwhelming them. And then came my favorite part...a generous handful of cilantro, mint, and basil. Those fresh herbs didn't simply garnish the sandwich...they lifted it. Every bite became brighter, more aromatic, and wonderfully balanced. It was like someone turned up the volume on every flavor. Even the Diet Coke somehow felt like the perfect supporting actor, adding that crisp, refreshing finish between bites and bringing the whole meal together like a surprisingly well-rehearsed culinary orchestra. By the time I finished, I realized something. I had completely forgotten that this was supposed to be a quick bite before heading home. Instead, I found myself sitting there just a little longer, enjoying the last sip of my drink and appreciating how something as humble as a bánh mì could be so thoughtfully executed. Sometimes the simplest meals leave the biggest impression. Overall: 4.5 stars. Top of the Hill Cafe serves a beautifully balanced bánh mì with fresh ingredients, exceptional bread, vibrant herbs, and perfectly prepared pickled vegetables. It's proof that great sandwiches don't need unnecessary extravagance. Just quality ingredients and the care to let each one shine. Come hungry...and Go Big!!!

Having a place that's open practically around the clock is such a luxury, and it's become one of those businesses that the Sunset is lucky to have. One of my favorite things is that the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted by the smell of freshly baked pastries. It's exactly what you hope for when you walk into a neighborhood café. Even better, they taste every bit as fresh as they smell--flaky, buttery, and consistently delicious. It's the kind of place where it's hard to leave with just one pastry. The coffee is always hot, fresh, and ready to go, making it an easy stop whether you're in a rush or taking your time. And if you're hungry, don't skip the sandwiches. They're hearty, indulgent, and absolutely hit the spot, especially in the early morning when you need something substantial to start the day. Beyond the food, Uncle Benny's has that classic neighborhood café feel that keeps locals coming back. Friendly, dependable, and consistently satisfying--it's everything you'd want from a community staple. If you're in the Sunset and looking for a great breakfast, pastry, or coffee, Uncle Benny's is an easy 5-star recommendation.

I was tempted at first to get a banh mi but opted instead to order their namesake items, and I'm ultimately glad I did because I think they're a more accurate representation of their offerings. I got a loaded veggie bagel without cream cheese, as I wanted to add my own Kite Hill dairy free cream cheese, and a "cinnamon roll". The reason for the quotes around cinnamon roll is vector ended up being a doughnut shaped like a cinnamon roll topped with glaze and crumbles. The bagel was great! I received a toasted sesame bagel, which was a surprise because there was not an option to select type on Uber Eats. I love sesame so was quite satisfied. The bagel was stuffed to the brim with veggies, so it was a fantastic way to smash in some healthy produce to start my day. The cinnamon roll doughnut, however, was too sweet, and I'm really not a doughnut person. Like I would probably never go out of my way for one. It was so big I couldn't finish it and ended up composting the rest. I'm glad I tried it to fairly assess the place but wouldn't get again and honestly only added it to my cart to meet the minimum Uber Eats delivery spend to avoid higher fees.

He explains there aren't many flavors left because most of his business is through online orders. We asked him to help us pick out 4 cupcakes, and he was pretty chatty about them all. After we picked out our 4 cupcakes, he gave us one for free (wow - thanks so much). That took the sting out of $6 cupcakes. The place is a bakery and store front, but no seating. They have cupcakes, mochi donuts, savory muffins, and various drinks. Their baked good are made with rice flour and coconut milk, so their cupcakes are light and moist. They kinda have a mochi-coconut flavor, but not the sticky mochi texture. Most of their cupcakes have some type of filling inside, which adds to the moistness. All their flavors are really creative, and some of the ones we got today I don't even see on their online menu. The instructions say best served heated for a few seconds, but I found the cream gets too melty. It tastes fine without heating imo. What we got: + Ube cookies and cream - ube and coconut forward. Yum. + Guava - this had a dollop guava jam on top and some squirted inside too. The guava adds just the perfect bit of tartness to the cupcake. + Nutella - there's a dollop of nutella on top that fills part of cupcake inside. + Churro Biscoff - pretty gooey inside, which may be due to heating it a few seconds. Still very yummy. It's a good thing I don't live close to one of these stores or I'd be here every day. I prefer these to Sprinkles cupcakes for the same price point.
