We liked the customer reviews for this donut shop. So finally today we stopped and were extremely happy with the donuts, the service and the cleanliness of the store. The gentleman behind the counter was very gracious to answer my questions and picked my donuts that the family wanted very quickly. The apple fritter that was specifically ordered by my husband is absolutely large and he says it taste wonderful. Will be back to order donuts to take to work For the early morning Nurses coffee time. I agree that It benefits the community when we shop within our community.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast a couple of weeks ago, trying to support more local businesses. Be aware, it's CASH ONLY! The breakfast sandwich was definitely good enough to warrant a 4 star rating! We got the one with the egg, cheese, bacon and ham on croissant to share bc it's big! It was excellent! Flaky, fresh croissant with hot, melty cheese and plenty of meat and egg! We also got a chocolate bar that looked like it had cream in it, but it ended up just being a plain donut inside. Nothing's really labeled so it's impossible to know and I had a lot of trouble communicating with the staff so I gave up lol. Also, most of their cases were empty so probably want to go early for more variety (not unusual for small mom & pop donut shops so no big deal).

A great variety of donuts and delicious made-to-order croissant sandwiches at affordable prices. I got a sausage and egg croissant which was light on the bread. The store owner is very nice and would throw in an extra donut or a few donut holes if you make a big purchase.

I came in this morning to christys donuts in monrovia. I was on my way to work and wanted to bring some donuts to share with my elderly client. A very nice and kind gentleman helped me, when it came time to pay I presented my debit card and he said to me cash only, and I said sorry I only have my card so I will have to leave behind the donuts... he smiled and gave me a receipt and told me come back tomorrow or next week to pay. Wow! How awesome is that!! I left and was able to go over to the 7- eleven to withdraw some cash and returned to pay him.. he then offered me one more donut to take with me. Thank you kind sir!! You made my day very special!!

It's the way they treat people. You can tell there's real heart behind it. The owner is super genuine and you can see how much he cares, not just about the food but about people. That kind of energy sticks with you. It's a small place, early hours, and they sell out fast, but it makes sense. Everything is fresh and made with intention. Honestly it just feels different coming here. It's one of those spots that reminds you it's not always about the food, it's about how people make you feel too.

A friend of mine raved about this place so I stopped by to check it out on my way to the 1st tee at Santa Anita golf course. Unfortunately, the donuts here are no exception to the greasy taste. The donuts are quite soft and fluffy. So soft that I'd almost say they lack the requisite texture. The famed apple fritter actually fell apart as I tried to pick it up. It was also the greasiest of the donuts I tried. It literally felt like the oil was oozing as I chewed the donut. The raisin croissant/danish had a decent texture; but, it had sort of cheesy note to it which was unexpected. I also must mention that the prices are quite reasonable and the portions were generous.

It's also filled with a light, soft cream. DELICIOUS! I arrived at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) on a Wednesday (around 3:42PM). Parking is simple. There's a competitive customer parking lot. And there's a city public parking lot about a two minute walk away. Staff is very friendly, professional, and welcoming. Staff maintained a bright smile throughout my visit. Staff immediately helped me. Customers can order at the self-service kiosk or counter; however, the kiosk felt very dated & the prices on the kiosk felt less transparent. I recommend just ordering at the counter. There's no penalty for using card at this donut establishment. As mentioned, I love the Tiramisu Donut ($4.95). It's not too sweet; rather, it all felt balanced. However, this is a VERY messy donut; I recommend eating this donut with a fork and knife. The powder fall everywhere, and your clothes can quickly get stained with chocolate powder. Still, it's a delicious pastry. On ambiance, Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel) is comfortable. This business is more reminiscent of a cafe than a typical donut shop. There's customer internet with password; details on the counter. There's a gender neutral restroom. And there's an electrical outlet & outlet adaptor for devices. The location is fairly small; there's one interior table and one small counter. Fortunately, this place felt airy and well-ventilated. There's also some upbeat, fun music in this clean spot. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Old Ferry Donut (San Gabriel). There's sincere passion & hard work within these walls. If searching for a special donut for a special someone, this is an easy spot to recommend. 4.9 out of 5! Go!

Ordered a single shot espresso and the very popular butter pistachio donut. It was HUGE. I shared it with a co-worker as I knew there was just no way I alone could finish it. This thing was decadent... and totally up anyone's alley who has a severe sweet tooth. I typically do not like overly sweet things, but I have to admit, this was very good. The espresso was good and strong, and for me, a single shot was more than enough to get me through my morning. As I was the only customer in the place at the time, service was quick and friendly. I will definitely be back to try other donuts!

(Great prices compared to Starbucks down the street btw). There's a lot of options and I've enjoyed everything I've had here so far. The coffee can be caffeinated or decaf. The creamers are stored to the side with ice packs. There are other drinks in a fridge and snack options to the side of the register. The blueberry donut is really good. I've also enjoyed their custard filled donut which was full of custard. If you order a ham and cheese croissant, they cut it in half and heat it up for you, which is a nice service. The cheese inside is really good. The interior is pretty small, but there's some seats if you want to sit down and have your breakfast. We always get ours to go. On our most recent visit they were having a fundraiser for their friend that perished in the Monterey Park shooting. So glad to have this staple in the neighborhood and to have a small business to support! Highly recommended little breakfast spot :)
