    AM Donuts. Monrovia.
    Kevin M.

A nice family owned shop with friendly costumer service. We were happy to find out they offer Vegan Donuts for those with dairy allergies. Which is great so my wife can enjoy some delicious donut options. The shop has a shared parking lot with neighboring business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the donut shop, there's a handful of tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came in to grab some donuts to go. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Side note they also sell lotto and scratchers. The donuts were good and tasty. I've always been a fan of the old fashioned style donuts and the vegan donuts and donuts holes we ordered were good. We'd come by again to satisfy our donuts cravings when we find ourselves around this area again. ( ^_^)b

I visited on a Sunday at 8:45 am and parked in the back. The person who helped me out was super friendly and nice. They had a large selection of non-vegan donuts and a small section of vegan donuts that looked like the circular yeasted variety. I was able to pay with a credit card. SWEETS ORDERED - Bear Claw ($4). Delicious! The soft and flavorful dough had a crisp and lightly iced outer shell. It was generously filled with diced apples that had a good texture and concentrated apple flavor. The gooey part of the filling was not too sweet. - Old Fashioned ($2.50). The donut part was good: very soft and moist and almost creamy. However, the maple icing didn't have much flavor. It tasted like a sweet and crispy shell coating with a hint of cinnamon. - Strawberry Cake w/ Cream Cheese and Cake Crumble ($2.75). I got this because it seemed fun. It tasted like strawberry box cake mix, which was what I expected. But I guess I'm old now since it was too artificial for me. I enjoyed the texture nevertheless; it was soft, moist, and bouncier/chewier than a traditional cake donut. - Apple Fritter ($3.50). This one ended up being my least favorite. Although the outside was very crispy, the inside of the fritter was wet and mushy - perhaps due to the cinnamon swirled throughout the dough. I didn't taste the apple. SAVORIES ORDERED - Ham & Cheese With Jalapeño ($5.25). I put this croissant in the air fryer to crisp up the soft airy layers. The white cheese got nice and melty. It was very good, and I liked how there was filling in every bite. I tasted the jalapeno throughout, even though there weren't many pieces of it. - Spinach & Cheese ($3.50). The taste was okay, but the pastry was strangely thin and flat and somewhat mushy on the inside.

Highly recommended doughnut place when in the area. Like everyone else mentioned, this place offers vegan doughnuts which basically have no egg & milk ingredients which suits my food restrictions. Def vegan doughnuts won't be as soft and tender as normal doughnuts but still will satisfy your crave! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Since we came on early evening, the lady owner decided to give us a bonus doughnuts.

I stopped by to purchase our office pool Lottery tickets and exchange some winning tickets that I had with me. Donuts and gambling is what they offer here and they always have a constant flow of customers. The price of donuts have gone up just like everything else. The bear claw I picked out was filled with apple pieces and wasn't overly sweetened.

Came here after dinner and although there weren't as much options , the options that were available were amazing ! Because there wasn't as much we got a pretty good bargain for a dozen because there weren't much left! Usually it would be $21 for a dozen and prices are different considering which donut you're getting but prices are very reasonable, the menu + prices is at the top but you should and can always ask for clarifications regarding their prices! But the person who was there gave us a great deal and we greatly appreciated that even though it wasn't necessary, it was really sweet of him. I forgot what we got but I remember getting red velvet, strawberry shortcake one, blueberry, banana cream one, bacon one, original sugar and so much more I forgot! We definitely ate them in the parking lot trying each flavor and they were all so delicious . Service was really attentive considering my boyfriend and him did strike a conversation about this donut shop and the place itself is just inviting and warm. They also have vegan options and seatings inside, definitely would come back and recommend !

Stopped by here before work. What stood out was that they opened at 4am and had vegan donuts!!! I tried a chocolate vegan donut and was highly impressed!! Wow!! It was really good and couldn't really taste a big difference between regular and vegan donuts!! Also tried 2 cake donuts (strawberry & red velvet). Both were delicious!! Yummm, that red velvet though!!! The vegan donut is a must try!!

I believe this is a family owned donut shop. The elderly lady was so friendly and welcoming. The donuts are fresh and delicious! Give this place a try if you're in the area.

Love that it's a family owned business, always support. The donuts are always delicious and the smoothies are THE BEST! If Joseph is working you know the smoothie is gonna slap LOL. We moved from the area and still make our way to it when we get the donut and smoothie craving (:

Owner and workers are so kind and their delicious are donuts!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I bring my granddaughters when they visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Easy parking.

The donuts are good, but they are gouging for donuts that have pink and red sprinkle for Valentine's Day and charge an extra $1.75 and also extra $1.75 for crullers. They very limited on variety and have other donuts for a massive up charge. Poor variety no bars or twists.

Do they have seasonal donut flavors? Like pumpkin?

Hi Megan - I am not sure as I am only out there in the month of June every year when I am visiting my family in Temple City. Sorry, I can't help you out on your question. Randy

    Are there vegan donuts here?

Yes! They started serving vegan donuts and they are good!

    Are these donuts vegan?

They just started serving vegan donuts! They have a handful of different kinds. Majority are still non vegan but the vegan ones are great!

    Can u pay cash?

Sure! I think they take most payments except bitcoin.

Donuts are displayed behind the glass window. Ordering is done through a small window opening. There is no customer entrance inside the shop. Upon arrival, Jonathan, the owner, offered me a warm welcome. He was very friendly and nice. He shared his humble beginnings on how Monarch Donuts began. Thank you Jonathan for sharing your loving story about your mom and grandmother. I was the only person in line which worked out for me. A few customers arrived shortly after me. All donuts and apple fritters were carefully boxed. I appreciate the special attention and care in the packaging. Thanks! Overall donuts were good, but dough was a bit dense for my taste though. Apple fritters were a great hit! Huge in size. Light in crisp. Tons of apples. Not super sweet which I appreciate it. However, a few of them fell apart when picking them up from the box. I actually don't know how much each donut and apple fritter costs. I didn't ask which was fine. Total bill was about $90+ which wasn't bad at all especially for all the tasty goodness. Highly recommend! Love to return for more tasty apple fritters and cinnamon crumbles. From what I was informed, donuts and all may be sold out before 9:00 AM most of the time so do get here early before they run out. Happy Donut Always!

It's the way they treat people. You can tell there's real heart behind it. The owner is super genuine and you can see how much he cares, not just about the food but about people. That kind of energy sticks with you. It's a small place, early hours, and they sell out fast, but it makes sense. Everything is fresh and made with intention. The creamers are stored to the side with ice packs. There are other drinks in a fridge and snack options to the side of the register. The blueberry donut is really good. I've also enjoyed their custard filled donut which was full of custard. If you order a ham and cheese croissant, they cut it in half and heat it up for you, which is a nice service. The cheese inside is really good. The interior is pretty small, but there's some seats if you want to sit down and have your breakfast. We always get ours to go. I wanted something special that couldnt be found anywhere else which is also very picture-worthy. Luckily other reviews and pictures of donuts from this shop led me to going in person to check out the goods and placing a huge order. I was firstly looking at the online menu, and I couldnt find that giant donut, so i called to ask for help and clarify which one it was so i can get them. The person who answered the phone at the time was super helpful and even saved me a texas donut when i mentioned i was coming by in the next few minutes. When i arrived, i knew it was going to be special for the people im sharing this with. When ordering online, the one i wanted was actually marked as "Out of Stock" (Texas Chocolate), so i made a note that i wanted a different donut using another donut that was still available to order (Texas Glzed). When I received my 14 boxes, it was the correct one that I wanted substituted. They were nicely organized and it presented well. Theyre not stingy with the toppings either. You really get a good value out of it. The staff was really friendly too (why not? it smells wonderful inside). Definitely two thumbs up for me especially with large orders.
