So much better than the run-of-the-mill breakfast places! We had two kinds of the freshly baked frittatas and oneof the French toast muffins and all three were absolutely delicious! Big selection of baked goods that all looked great, but we left them for another visit since we were very full. The decor is fun and the atmosphere is very comfortable, and the staff is very nice. We're already planning our next visit. Just wish the bakery was open on Sundays, because we would love to go here for Sunday brunch. read more

i've been wanting to check this place out for a couple years now and i finally got around to it the other day when i went to lunch with a friend for restaurant week and i gotta say i'm pretty impressed. the place is nice on the inside but not too big. my friend has gone there a bunch of times and she said the place is never usually that packed though so i guess it's a good size for them. anyways, for my appetizer i went with the potato salad. it was just a small cup of it and it was done with a balsamic dressing. i've never had that style potato salad before but it was ok. onto the sandwich... i went with the 3 little pigs panini, which isn't a regular menu item but i guess they have it as a special every so often. it has roast porn loin, bacon, bacon marmalade, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. i asked for no tomato and they made it that way, but i also can't remember if they left the lettuce off. either way, it was a really freakin good sandwich! i would definitely hit these guys up for lunch again. oh, and for the final course i picked out a key lime pie sandwich cookie and i couldn't believe how flavorful it was i got a few other baked goods to go. my friend told me to try the almond croissant, so i got that along with the baked french toast and a cream puff. the pastry part of the cream puff was perfect but i feel the cream could have been a little better. the croissant was very good, you don't see those homemade too often. as for the baked french toast, i wasn't the biggest fan. the thing was really dense and almost too sweet, especially with the cream cheese frosting. also, it was a little raw in the middle of it. i texted my friend later on when i ate it and she said that they're not usually as big as the one i got. so yeah, if you're lookin for a snack or a sit down lunch, this place is pretty good for both. i will definitely be back read more

The mac and cheese in the empanada was great, but he empanada itself was rather dry and greasy at one time. And the cookies were really dry - both my husband and I only ate half of each before we tossed them. While it was nice enough and I wouldn't ever refuse to go back, it won't be a place I would make a special trip to go back to. read more

I'm a huge fan of bakeries and baked items and Chroma did not disappoint. Came in Saturday morning for breakfast and it wasn't too busy. The baked goods selection is quite overwhelming in a good way, ranging from cookies, cupcakes, and brownies to the typical breakfast cinnamon rolls, scones, and pastries. I went with the ham egg and cheese breakfast panini which was awesome. The bread perfectly complimented the egg and the ham wasn't too thin but it wasn't over the top thick either. I also got a cinnamon roll and cheese danish which were both very light, flaky, and flavorful. The cinnamon roll came with cream cheese icing which is awesome but wasn't over the top heavy and sweet but instead a nice blend of soft and fluffy. It didn't leave me regretting the choice. As for the service I ordered my food and about 3 minutes later I was brought my pastries and my cinnamon roll was warmed up which was awesome. It only took about 10 minutes in total until the sandwich came and it was rather large and filling. It is a bit pricy, so be prepared to spend a bit of money here but the value is good, Food is awesome, and the atmosphere feels like it encapsulates chroma perfectly. Overall great experience and I will be returning soon. read more

Best sandwich place in downtown Binghamton hands down. Food is delicious and the staff are great. They make so much in-house including breads, soups, empanadas, baked goods and more. There's a great menu variety with daily specials and they always have vegetarian/vegan options. I haven't tried their breakfast menu yet, but am really looking forward to it. This little gem is around the corner from the Security Mutual Bldg. downtown. I've walked by a gazillion times, finally stopped in today for lunch. We love Chroma Bakery. They have the best cream puffs, lemon curd pastries and their breakfast waffle sandwich is freaking delicious. When my girls where going through school testing. Decided to try this place out after I saw the yelp reviews. My husband and I went for breakfast on a Saturday. We absolutely loved it! I got the egg white frittata which was fabulous. My husband got a waffle breakfast sandwich with egg and sausage. Everything including the coffee was excellent. The absolute star of the show were the cookie sandwiches we brought with us for a snack on the road. The key lime cookie sandwich was HEAVEN! This place is fabulous. The food is fresh and imaginative and they offer lots of options, like if you don't eat meat they'll substitute and make things specially for you. They work damn hard and are the most friendly people ever. Sometimes I think they could use real plates and cutlery, and maybe one day they'll move somewhere bigger, but I love going here. read more

When I discovered Chroma, I felt like I walked into a Binghamton's best kept secret. The place is small but it's very charming. The staff is very gracious, they took the time to learn my name since I go in a few times a week. The owners Heath and Nancy are delightful people, and their daughter is so considerate of her guest needs she is such a friendly young lady. Chroma always had samples of their delicious treats, and they don't care if you take more than one they encourage you to try everything. When walking into Chroma the smell hits you of all the fresh pastries, breads, and sweets. The display case walking in is beautiful, a large variety of treats that can satisfy any sweet tooth. I love the turtle brownies they are so moist and tons of pecan caramel topping. I have had many desserts here, and have not been disappointed. I also love the homemade soups and Empanadas both of these items change daily so I'm always trying new exciting things there. read more

It is very cramped (trying to bake in that kitchen would drive me crazy--just watching them in there makes me nervous) so I usually get things to go, but I haven't seen the new seating area since they changed it. This place is ridiculously good. What a perfect brunch/lunch spot for Downtown Binghamton. Came here for Restaurant Week and was very satisfied. It's an order-at-the-counter kind of place so it's quick in that sense (food also came out quick). Had a really good pasta salad to start and my grilled chicken breast sandwich on their homemade pretzel roll (all bread made on the premises) was super. Very comfortable, homey feel. One suggestion: that monster sandwich could have definitely used a toothpick to hold it together. I'll live without it though. Definitely coming back! read more

Our tennis girls had a Mardi Gras party and the King Cake was made by Chroma. It was the best King Cake I have ever had. Beautifully decorated and the baby Jesus was placed inside to be discovered by one lucky person. this is the first review I have written but not my first experience with Chroma. Tennis girls have brought cupcakes, cookies and other delightful desserts to gatherings for a while now. Keep on making the most wonderful, sinfully delicious desserts ever and if you have not yet indulged, get to Chroma ASAP. read more
