I visited new location within the same building Chromatic was operating. I love it even more! Coffee, vibes, staff - all are on a high level!

    Flatwhite and cappuccino!

It's been a while to visit chromatic! Came to grab a coffee and we ended up getting some sweets too :) I loved their new setting and interior! They have plenty chairs and tables. They decorated well with their merchandise and beans. Loved that they explained the coffee bean processing types so that people can see and learn. As usual, all of their baristas are so knowledgeable, kind, they make good coffee :) I got my usual cappuccino with oatmilk today. Definitely will come back to study and enjoy their other coffee!

Today I had the most amazing banana latte ever at Chromatic Coffee. It truly has no comparison to any others that I've tried before. Absolutely delicious and so darn good. From the first sip, I wanted to guzzle it down but slowed myself so I can enjoy my drink. I ordered the banana matcha for my daughter and brought it home to surprise her. She was impressed and loved it. The building inside is fun, my hubby and I decided to take a picture with the sunflower, strawberry cut out. There's plenty of tables and chairs for people to sit. The workers were all smiles and friendly, so bright and early on a Saturday morning. I can't wait to come back and hang out here for some future coffee dates.

Clean, modern vibe with seriously good coffee. The espresso is smooth and bold, and you can tell they care about quality. Staff is friendly and efficient, even during busy times. Great spot to grab a quick cup or hang out for a bit. Definitely a go-to in San Jose. Here i got the dulce leche iced latte. Very good.

Clean, large and chill space for enjoying coffee and spending time with friends. Service is fast and efficient. Coffee is really solid. Flavors for everyone. I love the Holy Mountain and my wife enjoyed the Gupta. Both were great and we took some beans to go. There are limited seats but the wide space in a warehouse gives it a very chill vibe. If I'm close by this would be my place to go.

Lovely spot with such a fun vibe and great music! The staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations. I ordered the vanilla latte with oat milk, though I thought the coffee flavor itself could have been a bit stronger. My partner ordered the seasonal chocolate almond raspberry latte with whole milk and loved it. They also had their own word search and coloring pages, which was a fun touch. The café is located in a building with other establishments and has an industrial vibe. Overall, it's a great place to hang out.

We've had this bookmarked for a while and wanted to check out the hype. We ordered a flat white and a matcha latte. Flat white : 3/5, he described it as decent. Compared to other establishments, it lacked espresso notes and was too milky. Matcha latte: 2/5, disappointing, the matcha is premade in a container. Probably to save on time. Based on past reviews, people complained it was watered down. It was ordered with no ice and a splash of milk (I wanted to be able to taste the matcha.) However, it was still filled it up with milk. I understand this is a coffee spot, but I was disappointed in their lack of attention to this.

I've been coming to Chromatic ever since a friend introduced me to it, and after several visits, I've realized that the experience here is about much more than just coffee. Every time I walk in, the baristas take the time to ask questions about what I enjoy, how I like my coffee, and what flavors I'm looking for. They don't simply take an order they guide you through the process and genuinely seem passionate about helping customers discover something they'll love. It's clear they care deeply about coffee and creating an experience rather than just serving another cup. On my most recent visit, I came in looking for espresso beans. I was originally interested in their Gamut espresso blend but was also searching for something on the darker side. The cashier recommended their original espresso blend over the darker roast options. While it wasn't exactly what I had in mind, I trusted the recommendation because everyone I've interacted with here has been incredibly knowledgeable. A few minutes later, while I was waiting for my order, a gentleman approached me and asked, "Would you like to try something a little darker?" Of course, I said yes. He proceeded to pull a fresh espresso shot of their Opus roast and walked me through the flavor profile. It was exactly what I had been looking for. What impressed me most wasn't just the coffee it was the hospitality. He went completely out of his way to make sure I found the right coffee for my taste. He explained that they didn't have full bags of Opus available yet because they were still in the roasting process, but then generously offered me half a bag so I could pull a few shots at home for myself and my family. I've worked in hospitality for over 10 years, and this is the kind of service that truly stands out. It's the definition of going above and beyond to make a guest feel welcome and cared for. What really stuck with me was that after I tried the espresso, he came back and asked, "How was the finish on that shot for you?" It wasn't a casual question he genuinely wanted feedback and wanted to know if the coffee delivered what I was looking for. When I told him it was exactly right, he seemed just as excited as I was. Coffee can sometimes feel intimidating, especially when you're trying to learn more about different roasts, origins, and flavor profiles. Chromatic does an incredible job of making that experience approachable, personal, and enjoyable. They aren't just serving coffee they're creating meaningful experiences and tailoring them to each individual customer. This level of hospitality is rare, and it's why I'll continue coming back. Highly recommended.

Unique atmosphere. It looks like a warehouse with several other businesses in the same building including a brewery. The mocha was made with real chocolate not syrup. Pastry are on the sweeter side. Dogs are welcome.

Found my new study cafe in San Jose Food: Excellent variety of diverse pastries (e.g. black sesame loaf) that are also gluten free and/or vegan. They also have small lunch/snack-ish bites like chicken pot pie -- savory and sweet options! I recommend taking the pot pie home and heating it up though; this easily elevated the pie by a thousand points. Espresso was delicious. Service: Kind and helpful staff! Ambiance: Spacious set-up of chairs/tables and excellent lighting. A couple of outlets. Bathroom in the building. Lots of local events/pamphlets for resources posted at this establishment! Parking lot with limited spaces, but a parking lot nonetheless!! I'm so happy I came across this place; it can be really difficult to find a good study cafe w/all of these key amenities.

I really dig the vibe of Chromatic. It's in a big industrial warehouse-type space, and has a lot of space for seating and just enjoying your coffee and food. The space also has some cool merch, nice music, and various coffee table books on offer for you to read while you relax. The staff were quite friendly, and the coffee and food was delicious. Can't really say I have any complaints. Cool coffee shop with a unique vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the San Jose area!

Bacon, cheddar, & onion hand pie. The best!

Came here on a Saturday with my boyfriend after searching yelp for a nice coffee place. The place itself is really cool and chill, and was not overcrowded. Looks like it's part of a warehouse with a bunch of other stores, and there's a lot of parking around the perimeter. We got two pies, the bacon, onion & cheddar and then raspberry & mango. Both were really good, our favorite was the bacon, onion, & cheddar. My boyfriend got a hot dulce de leche latte, and I had an iced banana latte. The dulce de leche was sweet and had a very smooth foam top. The banana latte was very banana-y, and not that sweet. Definitely a different take than other places. Overall, a nice place with cool vibes! Personally would come again for the dulce de leche latte and the bacon, cheddar, & onion pie!

    Raymond M.

The dulce de leche and mocha latte's were mid. It did not have a rich and bold flavor as I expected. Friendly customer service. Limited parking. Clean establishment. Inside seating is available.

    Tonic espresso and iced mocha.

Hi! Does your cafe have private/secure wifi? I am looking for a cafe to work remotely at, however I am unable to access the internet on a public network. Thanks in advance.

Not an ideal place to work remotely at tbh. They don't have indoor seating and it's limited outdoor seating on a shared walkway.

Have they reopened the interior for sit down? Thanks!

    No. They have not.

Can they make the drinks decaf?

    Yes

    Is this establishment dog friendly?

Yes! There are always dogs welcomed here whenever I come by.

Is it still only take out or sit down possible now?

Hello! We do have tables and chairs located outside, yet we will not be providing any indoor…

Is there Plant based milk available?

Hi Lee, I always get oatmilk whenever I go. I am unsure of any others but these have had my lattes taste amazing past year or so.

Is the interior area open ? Can we sit inside?

The interior is only open for ordering. This is the restriction across Santa Clara County: no indoor dining.

Still open for To-Go orders during COVID-19?

Hello! Yes, we are open every day 9am-3pm for to-go. Thank you!

Occasionally burnt espresso but I love them too much to mind. I am a matcha snob to say the LEAST. Hands down best coffee shop matcha in the Bay Area. The classic iced matcha latte with honey is grassy and earthy and creamy and a little sweet. The iced banana pudding matcha latte had people lined up around the corner for months when it came out. It is deliciously worth the wait. Best banana cold foam in my opinion because it's made with actual bananas instead of flavoring so it's much more mellow. The double matcha they had for awhile is also awesome. Banana cold foam also goes great on an espresso latte. Now they let you add whichever cold foam you like to whatever drink which is great. Basically you can't go wrong. They are always changing up the menu for the new season and have lots of unique drinks on their menu. Not much seating inside at this location. The winchester Blvd one has more if that's what you're looking for. Their pastries are also all yummy and they sell their matcha powder for $60 for 100g which is a GREAT price for a great matcha. I would've gate kept this place but everyone already knows about it so I HAVE to show them the love they deserve!!

They had some Fanime specials for the con (katsu and egg salad sandwiches, spam musubi), seasonal drinks, of course coffees and teas, and non caffeinated drinks, as well as some food too (heated up pastries, both sweet and savory). There's a restroom with a code and a couple seats and tables with outlets to charge your devices. Service was welcoming and efficient especially after the crowds started to pick up. I got the: 1) Egg Salad Sando: -You can tell these were handmade in store. They had cute washi tape to hold the packaging together. -Solid egg salad sandwich. Slightly sweet white bread and generous amount of egg salad inside the sandwich. Creamy mayo taste that isn't too sour or tart, lots of egg in it. Perfect for an anime con next door. 2) Cappuccino: -I got this no sugar and sugar free and it came out with some pretty latte art. I thought it was mostly ok and boyfriend thought so too, but after several sips and when it was too late since we really had to get to the con, it just became too disgustingly sweet for him and he had to throw it away. 3) Yuzu Fresh Fruit Sparkler: -Yuzu puree with sparkling soda water. -Refreshing and not bad, but even after mixing this was a bit sweeter than what I would have liked and again, in our rush to leave, we couldn't really get this adjusted. I ended up pouring most of it in a water bottle to enjoy later and put in my bag. But ended up not finishing it in the end. Maybe next year I'll try again or just stick to the food stuffs.

I remember when they had their other coffee shop down the way from the Alameda. I actually like that location better just because it was more of a homey environment, and I love how it was an old Victorian house where you walked up the stairs! So comforting warming feeling! This one looks like it used to be kind of a warehouse with very open spacious areas, but ample area for work if you can do digital work at a coffee house. Lol. The barista is working, seem to do their work rather quickly, but no small talk or anything. Maybe they had a long morning? The whole place was packed with customers hanging out and doing their own digital work as I was picking up 2 cups of coffee and checking out their Pastory scene.
