On a very busy street in a busy city, Chu Ros Thai stands out as a place of peace and deliciousness. When I saw the restaurant sign encircled with vines and flowers and the lanterns and plants adorning the ceiling, I knew that I was going to like this place before I tasted the food. The food did not disappoint. We had the chicken curry puffs, vegetable dumplings, tom kha soup, pineapple fried rice with chicken, and the massaman curry with salmon. We loved our meal. My hubby had a Thai iced tea and I had a lychee iced tea which also tasted very good. The service was great. We definitely recommend and we look forward to coming again. Please note: this restaurant is small so you may not find a seat, but it is worth the wait.

My friend and I came here for a late lunch. I fell in love with the beautiful decor, as well as the warm and cozy ambiance. On the wall, there is lit up green script, featuring the words: Dinner is better when we eat together! There was lush greenery, blooming flower lights, white flowers and elegant drapery overhead. I had the Thai Iced Coffee, which was smooth, creamy, and strong. For my entree, I ordered the Crispy Duck with flat noodles. The Duck skin was satisfyingly crispy, well seasoned, while the meat was tender and juicy. Flat noodles were perfectly cooked, packing plenty of flavor. Service was lovely. Our waiter was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. I would return to try the Pork Chops with coconut sticky rice.

Ordered lunch special delivery during the week and there portion was very small. The food was good but not worth the price. The green thai tea was also good.

Really good, classic Thai. What really impressed me were the cocktails!! Definitely worth a try when you dine in

Sweet Coconut Sticky Rice - terribly dry. No coconut sauce which would have made it much better

First Impressions: not applicable, I ordered delivery The Noms: Coconut Sticky Rice - I ordered this assuming it would be like the sticky rice that accompanies mango sticky rice... but it was sooo dry. I don't know if they forgot the coconut sauce that usually comes with it... but do not order, get the mango sticky rice (I would have done this but it's not in season and not available in January) or the lychee sticky rice Coconut pudding - delicious... sweet but not too sweet, creamy and deeply coconut. 10/10 would order again Drunken Noodles: forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry I scarfed it down... very good, not as greasy as some other Thai places. Perfect amount of spice level and the chicken was generous. The portions were huge and I had enough left over for dinner later In Conclusion: 10/10 would recommend and likely will order again. If I had ordered the coconut sticky rice in house, I would have asked for a side of the coconut sauce... that would have made it perfect... or at least not as dry. That's why I still give it 5 stars... I'm going to assume they forgot the sauce and try it again

Great spot for lunch with excellent specials and solid service. I had the pad see ew with beef, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked, paired with their Thai salad topped with a delicious, creamy peanut sauce. Their chicken noodle soup is flavorful, aromatic and soothing. To finish, the lychee coconut sticky rice was outstanding and the perfect sweet ending. Overall, a great place with good food, fair prices, and friendly service.

Located next to pizza store. Ordered the Green Thai Curry (Chicken) and Tum Yum Fried Rice (Chicken). I preferred the Green Thai Curry (Chicken) more smooth and less salty to me. Not crowded we were seated quickly and food arrived quick as well. The ambiance was charming.

Three or four stars. The lunch special is decent. I got pad thai with chicken and Thai salad for $13.95. The pad thai portion is on the smaller side. The salad was standard. There is a lot of sauce on the pad thai. I actually wished they put less sauce, so the dish wouldn't be so heavy. I think this dish was a 3 star. The soft shell crab, not on the lunch special, was delicious. It had real crab mixed in with the curry and egg sauce. It definitely has a good kick to it as well. We opted to pay the extra $2 for coconut rice and it was totally worth it. It was a nice contrast between sweet rice and spicy crab. This was definitely a 4 or 5 star dish. Again the dish was very rich. Personally I think sharing this and one more item with another person is the way to go. There is not much seating but usually there is no wait.

The food here is simply out of this world! It was an incredible experience. The restaurant has a charming and cozy ambiance. The waiters went above and beyond to ensure that my fiancé and I felt welcomed and comfortable.

Aesthetic and cozy Thai place! Their cocktails look fun and beautiful. They have zodiac based drinks AND happy hour is all day? Sign me up. I was ordering take out so in the meantime, this is my experience: Food: It was 2 pm so we went with the lunch special that comes with a main and an appetizer ($14!!). I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken (medium spice, which was perfection of a good kick) + spring roll. My husband had the pad see ew with beef + gyoza. He said the beef had a nice charred taste, which was a big plus. It was the just right portion for me, a bit smaller for him. Ambiance: While not big, they do have about 9 tables and 2-3 outdoor tables, which are great for a nice day out. Service: Kind staff, we ordered right away. Food took about 20 minutes. All in all, I'm definitely coming back to dine in and try their cocktails and desserts.

Loved everything about this place! Our server, food and the ambiance! Came in and sat immediately. It feels like a little hiding fun spot for foodies like us! Saw some drinks off the menu that we saw in tiktok and the server said they can do it. The food was amazing, feels very similar to the ones we had when we went to Thailand years ago! The appetizer is great when you want to try everything, a little of everything basically. We each had entree and shared! Their crab meat pad thai is to die for! They gave a lot of meat and did not limit us to tiny pieces! (Crab meat is expensive!) and came our dessert! We gad two I forgot the other one but we ordered Mango sticky rice to try and it didn't disappoint! This place has a lot of potential and serves great authentic Thai Food! Will definitely be back!

If you're craving incredible Thai food, you need to check out Churo Thai on the UES. It's a cozy spot with a huge selection of fresh, delicious dishes -- everything we tried was packed with flavor! The Tom Yum Soup was super flavorful, the Curry Khao Soi was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails? Next level. The decor is vibrant and full of beautiful flowers, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. Service was amazing from start to finish. Definitely my favorite hidden gem in the city!

Absolutely delicious and flavorful Thai food in UES. We walked from Central Park to this spot and sat outside on a nice fall day. The food was delicious and the service was very nice. The food came out quick too.

You only get 90 minutes to dine, but our server was a little generous with that time limit as there wasn't any one waiting when we left. All of the dishes we ordered was good in it's own right. The pork belly fried rice had a hint of sweetness to it. I think it might be tamarind or something. But I could totally be off based. The crispy bits of pork belly added a nice texture. They had a very respectable pad see ew beef - sweet and savory, good amount of egg, a little stronger bitter broccoli but otherwise a good dish, good quantity to fill you up even though in the bowl it seemed smaller than it actually was with the rice noodle cooked well. The steamed sea bass with garlic and lime (Pla Neueng Manow) had beautifully cooked sea bass with a very nice spicy/sour/savory green garlic sauce which I'll have to try again. The fried version is supposedly very good, too, and the one person that always gets the basil fried rice had a wonderful aroma that we'll have to try again later. Mango sticky rice was a tasty dessert (although we probably didn't need the 3 orders they recommended for our table of 6), though usually like I like the purple rice version better, and came with a very cute shovel spoon. They gave a free birthday dessert of caramel delight which was ok, crumbly and sweet (I'm not a caramel fan but others liked it). Overall, good experience and solid food - while not the best Thai I've ever had, this certainly is a keeper for the Midtown East area. Will come again soon to try the lunch specials! Service was a little slow due to how busy they were, but do appreciate the birthday candle for the birthday friend!
