Heard many good things and lots of recommendations from friends so we decided to have dinner here on a cold rainy day last week. We love the home feeling that we received from this place and the people that works here are amazing. Don't expect A1 services from young people when you're here; they're all lovely old mom and dad working to support their families and they don't really talk to you, but Jesus lord they'll give you anything you need. Like other reviews will note, this place does not look busy at all which is great if you're Covid cautious! Honestly I think many people just don't know about this spot. We did half bone broth and half spicy level 1 which was still decently spicy. Even if it isn't you can always go to the sauce bar and make your own spicy mix. We did AYCE but really only did 2 rounds of ordering. The broth was amazing, the platters were well portioned and overall it was a great experience. read more

Nothing spectacular. The only complain I have is the plate given is too small. I can't given place more than 2 spoon of food on it. . Once I got over the size of the plate by taking a few more plates, the dining experience is good. The beef is of good quality and fresh. Not sure whether I'll be back though. Shrimp and fish were so good here. We really enjoyed making our own sauces and trying so many things from the AYCE menu. I was absolutely delighted to see pig brain on the menu and had two servings of it. Yummy!! I will be back for more for sure. read more

Decided to take my son there for his birthday lunch. It was his 1st time eating hot pot, and he enjoyed it. The broth was very flavorful. We all enjoyed it and happy it was a little closer to us. We are definitely coming back soon. read more

Super disappointing. Went 30 minutes out of our way to stop here, even called ahead to make sure we'd be able to get a table only for the woman working the front to grab menus, then look us up and down and say "no." When we asked if they were closed, which they clearly weren't as a table was just seated before us and it was only 7:30p. She told us "no table" and just walked away leaving us to stand at the host stand for a couple of minutes trying to understand the interaction. read more

While it's not in the main part of Atlanta chinatown, Chuan Yu was such a pleasant restaurant to dine in with all your usual hot pot essentials. The broth and cuts of meat here is excellent (though if possible, I would cut the meat in half). The portion is generous and the Ingredients were very fresh. The sauce bar also had everything you need and they even make their own chill oil. One reason why I took a star off however, is because you do have to pay extra for things like dumplings and rice cakes. Most places typically include those two items as a part of the AYCE hotpot so it was disappointing to see that we had to pay extra for those items. read more

This is one of my favorite hot pot spots. It's all you can eat and has a good variety of meats. Vegetables are a bit lacking as the greens are namely bok choy and napa. Prices have gone up, but that's expected as other restaurants have raised prices too. Do try the fish fillet and shrimp paste. read more

Very authentic Sichuan hot pot! Probably the best I have ever had in the States. Ingredients are very fresh and tasty. The fried pork and bean noodles are just amazing. The sauce bar is always filled and ready to serve. A bit far from Atlanta but worth the travel! Hope they can maintain the quality level and improve their service in the future. I'm taking off 2 stars because there was a cockroach crawling around in the ingredients at the sauce bar. I'm not too bothered by bugs but when I informed the waitress she just killed it with her hand and went on about her business. Didn't empty out the ingredients or clean up the sauce bar. Probably the best hot pot place you can find in Atlanta! (And I have high standards because I grew up in China and lived in NY and Boston for a while) The price is fair and the meat tasted really fresh! There's a variety of other things too choose from as well! The broth was well seasoned. I did Spicy for half of our pot and chose levell 3/5 for the spice level - was actually spicy even for me. Seafood is also included, which I was really excited about. I wish they had winter melon in the menu but oh well. The environment is quite nice too and not crowded at all! I try to steer away from writing bad reviews as I'm more of a "if you have something bad to say, don't" kind of person. However I felt like I wasn't doing justice if I didn't comment on the horrible experience I had. This place charges $32 a person and is one of the most expensive ayce hotpot restaurants I've been to. The quality of the food is not up to par with any ayce hot pot place and the choices are very limited. I still had high hopes going to this place as it was the only hot pot place in Suwanee, but the service is what really infuriated me. First off they are severely understaffed, so it takes a while to get any type of service. I personally don't like to eat the fatty part of the meat so I discarded the fat while eating my food. The owner came up to us and told us we're not allowed to order the brisket anymore because he didn't like the fact that I wasn't eating the fat of the meat. I couldn't believe he was telling me 1) that I'm not 'allowed' to order something at an ayce restaurant 2) actually forcing me to eat beef fat. I wanted to walk out of the place and I regret I didn't. I ended up getting a $70 bill to get yelled at by someone. Horrible service doesn't even describe the type of treatment I received. This place is just really betting on the fact that there are no other choices in the area and I would highly advise anyone from going there. read more

My wife and I decided to try the Chuan Yu Hot Pot on a whim. I have to say it was an excellent decision. This was our first hot pot experience. The servers went above and beyond explaining how everything worked. I had the spicy broth and my wife had the bone broth. Both were outstanding. The food and vegetable selections were top notch. We ended up with round eye steak, chicken, shrimp and squid. The make your own sauce bar is a little daunting for first timers, but we just experimented and it all worked out. I would highly recommend this experience. If you have never tried a hot pot definitely try it. Even though it is a little over 30 minutes for us to get here we will definitely be back. read more

Now that I've been to a few hot pots, this place is pretty solid. The meat is thicker and good quality. They have a wide variety of veggies and the AYCE price is manageable. It's still a little high at $23 or whatever it was but you get good food. The elder could that own it are nice. You just need to wave them down I serious recommend this place. read more

Man, I am one happy camper! We walk in and was immediately seated. It was all you can eat for $31.99. At first I thought it was a little pricey but the quality and quantity of food they gave was well worth the money. And if you pay cash, they will give you unlimited free soda. They are a small business so I understand the means to cut cost of credit card fees. And I thought it was a great incentive. The both were flavorful and they gave so much food. When we first walk in, the hostess/server was so welcoming! Kathy was very personal and she helped us out a lot on what to get for our hot pot. The pot is split in half, one side not spicy and the other side VERY spicy. The spicy was so hot that my nose kept on running. She told us that the ingredients for the spicy part of the hot pot is originally from China! It's an all you can eat Hotpot with plenty of selections to add into the pot. Very good food and experience. We loved the lamb and beef. Not so crazy about the chicken. The spicy broth level 3 had the perfect amount of spice for us who like hot food. I'm a huge fan of hot pot.. When your good friends ask you to join them for hot pot here, you say "YES!" It was our first time today, we fell in love with the combination of the fresh ingredients && flavorful broth. It was our first time experiencing making our own shrimp meal balls, it was fun && guarantees that it was fresh, not frozen. Fair warning on spice level for the broth, it's SPICY! I'm Thai, capable of some spicy food. Quite enjoy it as a matter of fact, but their "medium" spicy broth was spicer than anticipated. It was in the border line of "why so spicy" && enjoyable?! I should have asked for white rice, nonetheless I loved our brunch there. What set it over the top was the two desserts that came out piping hot && sweet enough to cool our tongues. I want to come back && be brave enough to try unique options on the menu like brains. If you are looking for an authentic hot pot experience, this is as good as it gets in GEORGIA.. If you want to try authentic Chinese hotpot, this is the place you must visit. This was my first time trying the hotpot and it was an amazing experience. The spicy stew is super duper spicy so if you dnt have high tolerance, stick with level 2 max. Also, you MUST get the fried bun. It's sooooo good. read more
