A large party had come in shortly before me, so it took about 30 minutes to get the food, which was quite a wait for a burger. I ordered the zydeco burger, which had an onion ring, bacon and a Cajun sauce. It was a solid burger; the flavors combined well, although I didn't care too much for the cornmeal battered onion ring. OMG .......warning this place may cause a food coma in a good way. Everything we tried was delicious. Very friendly, the GM, Jackie, stopped by our table to chat and told us all about the food and brought us a few samples of their house made sauces. When we got popcorn shrimp, it was fresh and just out of the kitchen, delivered by the chef (owner) himself. The fries were a bit salty for my taste, but I think you could just request unseasoned when you order them. They were good with the proper crispness; properly drained. Hush puppies were fine. On our next visit we got fried jumbo shrimp. The shrimp were greasy and tough; the breading just sloughed off in the plate. Maybe grilled is the way to go. Previous review: Great seafood at a reasonable price in a self-service atmosphere. I had the Grilled Mahi-mahi and my wife had the Greek style crab claws. Seafood was expertly prepared, very flavorful. Sides (rice pilaf, green beans, cole slaw) were good but not particularly distinctive. Nice hush puppies. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food, but the food is served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils and foam cups. Order at the front and take a number to your table. When walking in it isn't anything too extravagant (that's fine) and gives me a "hole in the wall" vibe. They operate in a fast casual system and the service was very prompt through the entire meal. We started with the fried pickles and they were very solid and tasty. I decided on the Zydeco burger with okra for my main course. The burger was very good and deserves the positive attention received. I feel like I had super high expectations and they fell just short. The meat was cooked very well but the array of toppings on the burgers didn't meld together to create one unified experience like I have had before.
