The service is terrible and always has been. They get my order wrong every time and the latest time it was on an up charge. I called for a refund and they refused to refund my card. They told me I had to come all the way back up there if I wanted my money back. It's a running joke at my house about what they are going to mess up this time. I think we're done with this place. The spot is so good!!! The seafood salad is awesome!!! My husband loves those double burgers. I try to get him to share but he won't do it. The fries are so good. Best food in Alabaster! The people that own it are good hearted and the people who work there are down to earth. We went in on a busy Saturday afternoon for lunch and wanted to buy two bottles of their horseradish sauce. The guy (brother of Chubb I'm assuming?) went back to check. He came back up front and said he was out but if we'd hang out, he'd have some made up for us. No other restaurant would have done that. FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!! Easily once of the best places to get cheese fries. I love how friendly the staff is and the burgers are huge! I've tried quite a few things on the menu and I haven't found anything I didn't like. The ranch and spicy horseradish sauce are super yum. My family and I go at least three or four times a month. Plus kids eat free on Tuesdays which is beyond awesome. Very casual place but by far the best fried shrimp and fried fish we have had in years. Even the shrimp in the gumbo stood out because it was so fresh. As far as sides go the fried okra was amazing. The green beans, fries, Cole slaw and hush puppies were just ok and did not seem to be prepared on site. No alcohol served or allowed to be brought in yet. I really wanted to love this place and leave it a five star review. I was so excited to try it after the hype from hearing about it on the radio and my husband and brother loved it months ago. I had the deluxe and my husband had the zydeco. The burgers were cooked and seasoned perfectly but the bun was so lack luster compared to everything else. I noticed in a lot of photos they seem to change pretty often. In one photo it appears to be a brioche style bun which would have warranted a five star review for me. Today ours had kaiser style buns that were just too thick and the crunchy top was a bit distracting. The buns were very soft and fresh which I greatly appreciate but the burgers would truly be the best in town on a better bun. It's like putting the interior of a Tesla in a Volkswagen frame. The sweet potato fries were probably the best I have ever had. The horseradish sauce on his burger was genius. (Fried pickled jalapeños or wickles would have made the zydeco probably the greatest burger ever) This is just my personal opinion so take it with a grain of salt, definitely worth a try if your in the area. read more
