I hate writing a negative review because Chubby's has always been a family favorite with great food options but after three visits in a row, it's hard to ignore the same issues. Cleanliness has been a big problem. Several soda machines have been broken for a while, and many tables were dirty with employees standing around. When I asked for a table to be cleaned, it took longer to find someone than to actually do it--and the wipe-down was rushed and incomplete (I ended up finishing it myself). The food was disappointing too. About half of it came out ice cold, and the cheeseburgers were so charred and overcooked they were tough to eat. The one bright spot: the scones were the best we've ever had--absolutely delicious. We really hope things improve. We've loved Chubby's for years and want to keep coming back, but consistency and cleanliness need attention. read more

From what I've heard from employees chubbys is a very sexist environment, the manager chooses not to give a raise to a well deserving 3 year employee who knows all the stations. He says they don't have money to give her a raise but just recently he gave 3 male employees raises without performance reviews and 2 of them don't know all the stations. then telling her she needs a performance review but never gives her one. The manager is also a witness to the harassment but chooses not to do anything about it. Other male employees tell her to "make them a sandwich" and the manager doesn't care. He gives out raises based on his "buddy buddy" relationship with the male employees but not based on how well they do their jobs. read more

Ok giving this place a four because the workers are so amazing and sweet always even when it's busy. Also because 90% of the time I come and get a salad and it's a good solid salad the only one you can really find in payson. Tonight I switched it up. Got a BLT...yikes. The mayo was slopped on and so much I could not eat it. The bread was buttered and really super salty. I turned my attention to the salad and thought yikes. I watched the cash register 10.00 for a BLT and 3.99 for this very very sad side salad. Needless to say I won't deviate from my normal salad. Watch what you order. The burgers (my family likes them) and the full salads seem like where it is. But way too big of an up charge for this side salad. A little shame on them. read more

So, like a good burger, and I like different burger places for different reasons. Chubby's makes a good burger. The patty is usually a little well done for my taste. I got the bacon blue burger. The combination of blue cheese and bacon were delicious. They use thick pieces of bacon that are crips. The smoky flavor mixed with blue cheese is amazing. They use a mix of a blue cheese spread and crumbles that disperses the flavor across the burger. I even asked for a little extra in a cup and it was awesome. The bun is nice and has a bit of a buttery flavor. The beer battered fries were awesome. Extra crispy and tender in the middle. The restraunt is a typical burger joint, maybe a little more upscale. My rating ranges from a 3-4 stars depending on the day with Chubby's. I've never complained about small things that have happened in the past because I understand we are all human and all mistakes or are having a bad day, but things just felt a little extra disappointing this last time. The food has always been decent. Service seems to vary though. Some of the workers are very kind and sweet, some come across as they are just unhappy teenagers not wanting to be working and rushing you through your order. One of my go to items is the Chubby Cheesesteak and I have always ordered it with no mushrooms. Tonight the cashier started off decent but then gave me a lot of grief for asking for this request of no mushrooms saying it's not possible, even though I have had no issues asking for this in the past. She then explained it was because it was a blend of vegetables but when I asked if this was new since no one has ever shared this with me before she couldn't tell me and told me I could just pick them out of my food. All though I understand if it's a blend they can't be left out I feel like they could have more nicely explained and been understanding and all employees should be informed to tell other customers because I'm sure I'm not the only one asking to remove an item off of a sandwich. read more

These guys have consistently good burgers. It's not a fancy restaurant, so these 5 stars are more for the quality of the food than the fanciness of the experience. After you order, they bring your food to your table. Their beer battered fries are delicious. They have diet mtn dew which is always a win in my book, but I'd give them the same rating regardless of the beverage selection. Though it has the fresh look of steel, cement floors, wood, funky signs etc. There's a very full list of different burgers. We had an American burger...just a cheese burger with ketchup and mustard. Added on fries and a drink combo. Fries are big and soft steak fry sized. But you wait 15 min for food you want hot fries not luke warm fries. My burger wasnt hot either. Is the place so large all of my food cooled? We got a BLT too. It had the right amount of B, L, T's. Bread was good too. But never in any circumstances serve flaccid bacon. Flaccid anything is a hard pass. I almost would rather go to the Taco Bell in the parking lot. But a bright spot was we got the scones and they were awesome. Will I be back? Maybe. read more

We just went to Chubby's in Payson and the food it was great. We used a voucher we purchased at ABC4 Be Our Guest. You buy the voucher for $25 and it is worth $50. It fed 4 of us plus cinnamon scones, OMG the cinnamon scones are amazing. The Classic cheesburger, chicken tender & shrimp baskets and the beer battered fries were just as amazing as the scones. They have a great variety of items on the menu to choose from. But the best part of all was the owners son Lincoln. He is a respectful, bubbly, hard working boy that had us laughing as he was running around helping. This review is not about the food it is about being double charged. On Christmas Eve we ordered on line but when my husband went to pick up the food they said it hadn't been paid for so he paid for it again using his debit card. I used mine online. While there he added another item to the order so the two charges were slightly different. We noticed 2 charges the next day (Christmas) - one from DoorDash - per the online order but it was from their website so not sure why it said DoorDash and another charge from their location in Payson. Because a couple of days had passed because of the holiday we asked our bank to reverse the charge. After 30 days they deemed there wasn't an over charge which is outrageous because 2 different debit cards were used and 2 slightly different costs. So our meal of $75 is now costing us $150. We feel like we have been defrauded out of money by the workers who said it hadn't been paid for online. We were just visiting so we can't go in person and talk to anyone. read more

Decided on the "small" cheeseburger with a side of fries, we also tried a fried chicken sandwich, and a macaroni and cheese kids meal with fries. Cheeseburger and chicken sandwiches were tasty and very filling. Can't imagine having a regular sized burger after enjoying the little cheeseburger. French fries or crispy and served hot, just the way that I like them. Grandson loved his mac & cheese though I think this is more of a true kids dish. Service was friendly and efficient. Wait time for food was less than 10 minutes. Dining booth was clean. My only issue would be, after getting home and taking a look at the receipt and noticed an overcharge for the little cheeseburger. Chubby's is an awesome place! I love basically everything on their menu, the hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, the Rueben, the salads, the macaroni & cheese, coleslaw, and beer battered fries. The food has always been hot and fresh and the meat servings have always been plentiful. The ranch is the absolute best so be sure to ask for an extra one! This diner was exactly what I was looking for after a long drive north from St. George, and ticked off everything on my list. I stand by excellence in the ordinary, and their Utah burger delivered. It wasn't anything novel or exciting, which was exactly what I was hoping for, and the beer battered fries complimented it wonderfully. When we did get our food it was absolutely horrible how do you possibly mess up chicken strips they where dry overcooked. My experience with this food establishment was very pleasant. I was really surprised at how busy they were. I went there on a Saturday evening. Even though they had people lined up almost out the door, I observed how kind and patient the staff was. It appeared that they all were working as an effective team. I received my order in about 15-20 minutes, which is what I was told in the beginning when I placed my order. In observing the overall appearance of the restaurant, and how many people there were, the restaurant was still very calm and peaceful.
