Chubs has been on my list for quite awhile and we finally made it there today. Wow, this place is great! All of our food was delicious, the employees were super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant seating area was pleasant, attractive and very clean. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a pastrami sandwich and a half rack of baby back ribs. Both sandwiches were excellent, but the ribs really stole the show. They were well seasoned and so tasty, but better yet, they were extra, extra tender. We got two sauces on the side - rib juice sauce and the regular bbq sauce and I especially liked all of the herbs and seasonings in the rib juice. The ribs were some of the best I've had in this part of the country and I'm very glad we went to Chub's today. read more

I've had the pleasure of stopping in twice now, once for the Rhode Island Food Fights' Lord of the Wings and again for RIFFs' The Best Sandwich RI competition. Both times, Chub's delivered in a big way. Pull up and you'll immediately spot their massive smokehouse on the side of the building, which is a converted trailer that means serious business. Parking is plentiful. Inside, the restaurant is warm, inviting, and spotlessly clean. The staff were genuinely helpful and professional on both visits, the kind of team that makes you feel like a regular even on your first stop. On the first visit I went with the Ghost Pepper Sauce on the wings. They were crispy, perfectly smoked, and surprisingly approachable heat-wise. Not a face-melter, just beautifully layered flavor. I paired them with the Sweet Pete's Pulled Pork Sandwich and Grandma's Baked Beans, and honestly? Both were fantastic. The pulled pork was tender and perfectly smoked, and those baked beans had that homestyle depth that's nearly impossible to fake. On visit two I ordered the Blue Pig Sandwich and a half pound of Brisket. The sandwich was great, but the real showstopper was the Brisket. It was super moist with a bold peppery rub that had clearly been earned through hours of patience and smoke. This is the kind of brisket that makes you go quiet mid-bite. Chub's Blue Pig BBQ is, without question, one of the best, if not the best, BBQ spots I've hit in all of New England. It's the real deal: proper smoke, serious technique, and food that genuinely delivers on its reputation. I'll absolutely be back, and I'm bringing reinforcements next time. Destination Q brought me back to Chubbs Blue pig BBQ on Union St in Attleboro Massachusetts. I was glad to be back! Owners Aimee and Pete Diaz have not skippied a beat in the 2+ years since I was last here with 74 and infact they have gotten better. Try the pastrami rubbed wings or the fried ribs for a change up and dont forget their award winning Chubbs Burger or their impeccable brisket. A nice little ambiance exists in the dining area with lots of awards, home made gifts and the famous Chubbs sauces are not to be missed. I stopped at Chub's recently as part of the 2026 RI Food Fights Burger Blowout. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Today was no different. It was a lot busier this time around which tells me word has gotten around and people really enjoy the food here, but still a great vibe inside the place. This time the burger they offered was a build-it-yourself, with your choice of cheese and toppings. I went with American cheese and their BBQ sauce (of course). It was delicious and the perfect lunch to get me through the day. Once again, Chub's does not disappoint and I will be back for more. read more

One of the reasons that we are BIG fans of the RI Food Fights is that we get to try new restaurants that we would probably have never heard of or never go to. Chub's Blue Pig BBQ in North Attleboro is just one of those types of restaurants. Upon entering the restaurant, someone would shout out a greeting from behind the counter. It is something so small but it definitely makes you feel immediately seen & welcomed. The entire space is covered is BBQ & piggy themed items. Super cute! We could order any ground brisket burger with our RI Food Fights coupons. I ordered the Bacon Burger - Chub's bacon, American cheese, lettuce, pickles & BBQ sauce. It was a delicious burger with zippy BBQ sauce & house-made pickles. It was more medium than medium rare but the ground brisket was outstanding. Hubby opted for the Triple Decker Cheeseburger Club: Chub's bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato & mayo. This sky high burger sandwich was ginormous! Toast, burger, cheese, toast, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, toast. It was one of the best burgers we ate all month. For me, the addition of mayo on the sandwich was really delicious. For hubby, it was the size. We also ordered mac & cheese which was everything you want - ooey gooey, lots of cheese, pasta al dente, the perfect serving size for two people to share (or one really hungry hubby!). Other customers were chowing down on fries which looked delicious. We asked about collard greens but Chub's unfortunately doesn't have that on the menu. Another thing that struck me was that when a customer came in to pick up their to go order, the person behind the counter would walk the bag around & hand it directly to the person. This is our go-to bbq spot, particularly on Mother's Day when everyone comes over and we buy a bunch of stuff for the extended family. Straight to the review: Brisket: this is our test of every bbq place, and Chub's excels. Making brisket that's not too dry is really difficult, but they do it well, and it tastes fantastic every time. A+ Pulled pork: all of it got eaten quickly, everyone liked it. A Rack of ribs: Excellent on all fronts: flavor, texture. These are labeled as St. Louis style because of the cut, which means a little more fat to give them flavor, but I didn't find them too fatty. Really good, maybe my favorite bought ribs ever. A+. Cole slaw: I can't believe I'm going to say something positive, because I don't like bought (or as we say in Texas 'boughten') cole slaw....I usually find it too oniony, too mayonnaise-y, etc, but theirs is good, and I finished the leftovers. A. Service: A++. The people behind the counter are great every single time. Overall: I mean, obviously you should try this place if you haven't been there yet. Go there! Came for the RI Food Fights Burger Bloowout challenge. Feel weird in that I'm not rating their BBQ, but I got a ground brisket burger with shaved brisket on top. It was delicious and I definitely want to try more from this place My burger leapt to the top of the ones I've tried so far. FYI you order at the counter here. They have their menu and daily specials posted on the fridge at the beginning of the line and again at the register. Some overhead signs would help. The system isnt clear when you walk in. Was planning for a party on Sunday 9/14/25. I called the day before and while I was informed that they do not take preorders, the lovely woman on the phone let me know when to arrive to ensure that they would have what I needed. The same woman waited on me when I arrived and they did in fact have just what I wanted. She was so friendly and efficient The beef brisket, pulled pork and the variety of sauces were excellent! We have been dying to try the food at the place for a couple months now. We ordered 2 orders of Buffalo wings, 1 full rack of ribs, fries, and beans with corn bread. We split this between the 3 of us. I was dying to try the brisket, but they already ran out. I am always willing to try new BBQ places. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. You even get a free flavored water! I will say the food is good. The ribs are tasty and so are the chicken wings. However, the ribs don't fall off the bone as I expected. The fries were good. I personally wasn't a fan of the beans, but I am really not into beans anyway. I may stop by one more time to try the brisket.. it must be a good sign that they ran out, right?? read more

A rare Friday off, and that always means a new restaurant experience. Cool little place with plenty of parking, smokers in the parking lot make an impression and nice bbq inspired art inside show pride. Friendly greeting and service. I chose "The Blue Pig" sandwich...tender pulled pork with great slaw, pickles and tasty "sweet heat" sauce. Been trying to get to this place for some time now. Every time I ended up in the area when they were open, I was too late and they had sold everything. Now they have a whole new spot, bigger parking area, smoker right out in the parking lot is kinda weird but must be the only spot they can put it. I will say that I don't think I really like the way they do things here, it just feels so rushed and almost "Soup Nazi-ish". And it's a bit different from other places, like for some reason the ribs are separate and can't be part of a combo meal, but brisket can? I'm sure there's a supply and demand legitimate reason for that but it sucks for people like me because it's like "I don't know if I want a half rack right now" Ribs: Had very good rub, very good flavor of smoked pork, not too salty, these ribs are easily in the top 10 best ribs I've had. Wish I knew my spices better, looks like they might even use pepper flakes in their dry rub but if it is then it's not super spicy. Whatever it is, it's good. Little tough to cut into, bark was pretty thick. Brisket: Chopped and I didn't know that, I like it sliced so this was a little disappointing. Especially when places don't mind cutting up the brisket into cubes but they wont pre cut the ribs. It's like "HEY!?" Looked really good though, dark bark, juicy. It was super powerful taste though. Fat melted like fast butter, just the fat in between the meat, not so much the layer. Meat flavor could have been a bit more of a punch. Pulled Chicken: Not seasoned at all, just pulled chicken. Couldn't even taste the smoke. Worked out for me though because I could taste their sauces better with this bland chicken. Mac and Cheese: Seemed like they don't usually sell their mac and cheese just plain. That day they were advertising it like "Yeah, today it's brisket mac and cheese" like you are a dumb dumb if you don't get meat all over your mac. I asked if I could just have it plain and they all looked at me so I just did it with the brisket. And it was just hot bar at the grocery store style mac and cheese. Brisket didn't add anything. There was though a tiny bit of some red spice in there, barely could taste it though. Not goopy velveeta style, but frothy. Grandma's Beans: 3 or 4 different types of beans, gravy stuck to it real nice. Tasted like Amazing Baked Beans from Heaven. Appley, Cinnamon, Maple, Brown Sugar, Wow! Bean texture was perfect, Bean flavor was still there even though the other flavors are usually super overpowering. Sauces: Way too much to say so I'll just sum it all up. Pretty much all their sauces are obviously home made but they all have a real spicy kick to them. A little too much. Except for their peach sauce. Its more like a glaze, more like and apple sauce style, more like apricot flavored with some bourbon style taste to it. Really good, but I might just be saying that because it's different. But I liked it. Cornbread: Blown away by how flavorless it was. Like a sugarless thicker yellow cake. One other fun thing about them is that they have a frozen del's lemonade machine. Cant go wrong there. Watermelon flavored that day. All in all, not as great as I had hoped in most categories but knocked it out the park in others. Would still recommend to everyone. read more

The wings are also quite good: was recommended the mild Buffalo and am happy to report that the sauce is not over powering and you see little minced garlic in the sauce. I've been here for lunch twice recently and had a takeout order on another occasion. I really like the food-- it was consistently very good each time and put me in an upbeat mood. I recently ordered pulled chicken with barbecue sauce, coleslaw, baked beans, corn bread and kale (the vegetable of the day). I had a very enjoyable lunch. My wife is from Texas and she's pretty picky about BBQ. We live in RI and places near us don't come close to this. Ribs were very meaty. We bought a rack and got three meals out of it. Saw the reviews on Yelp and stopped in one day a few weeks back after picking up Dad for a weekend stay in RI. The interior is so cute with a lot of whimsical items to catch your eye and make you smile or even chuckle. Order at the counter, directly across from the door. The menu is on a signboard above the counter. The kitchen is open, directly behind the counter. I ordered the beef brisket with potato salad and coleslaw on the side. I was asked if I wanted the brisket 'chopped' or 'sliced' and it is served in a small heavy paper bowl - the kind you use for soup and can put a lid on to take home. Dad got a turkey sandwich which comes with one side of your choice. This meat is *very* tasty, tender and might I say, addicting. I don't live nearby, and it's been a few weeks, and I am still craving this stuff. The sandwich was too big for dad to eat so definitely a hearty sandwich. The sides are just ok. Too much mayo for my liking and the spices need to be kicked up a notch - something other than black pepper. There are plenty of BBQ and other sauces to choose from on the wall by the end of the counter. Just help yourself by squeezing some into the small containers provided. They did a heavy take out business during our eat in visit and they provide you will some sauce if you ask for it, or you can just go get some from the wall rack and take it home. There is a picnic table, a counter along the window wall with stools, an old 'game' table (used for dining) and one other table in the small dining area. There is one restroom for everyone at the back of the shop that is quite large with very cute decorating details. Check it out. I would without a doubt be picking up some of this BBQ meat regularly if it were local. If you like smoked meat, you really should give this shop a try. Mmm-mm. Tasty treat. read more

If you've ever read any of my other BBQ reviews, you know that I can be a bit of a BBQ snob but I do love me some good BBQ. When I heard about Chub's, naturally I wanted to check them out. My first impression is what took me so long. I wanted to try everything so they made a sort of combo platter that contained brisket, ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken. I did have to order sides separately and opted for the potato salad and beans. To start with the positives, the ribs were great. The sauce, how they were cooked, they were probably the best ribs I've had around here. The other thing that was a pleasant surprise was that the sides were really good. For some reason, many BBQ places put varying degrees of attention on the meat, but sides always seem like such an afterthought. The ones I had were good and complimented the food nicely. Their sauces are all really good as well. I really liked the mango habanero. It wasn't overpowering at all and had a nice fresh flavor to it. It paired well with all the proteins and was a pleasant surprise. In addition to the platter, I also tried their wings (garlic buffalo) and their buffalo chicken egg rolls. Both were good and I look forward to trying some of their other wing sauces. Lastly the pulled chicken was surprisingly moist and even reheated well. Not a very common thing. If I had to ding them on things it would be the brisket and the lack of smoke flavor. The brisket had a nice smoke ring but was on the dry side. I personally would have liked it to be a little juicier. The food was all very good but didn't have your typical smoke flavor. I'm not a fan of BBQ that overpowers you with smoke where it's all you taste, but this one was very mild almost to where it may have started in a smoker but finished in an oven or ran on a pellet cooker that only gave it a kiss of smoke. By no means was it a deal breaker, but more so a nit picky observation. I definitely look forward to going back and having more food as they are my reigning go to BBQ place in the area. read more

But, it was all good - just a matter of preference. I would recommend it to anyone, and would definitely come back. Wonderful wings and burger! The pickle wings were a hit. The servers were delightfully engaged with each other and the music.

I had the ribs which were superb, loved the crispy crust. Sides were delicious and the portion was just enough. Tried the potato salad, beans and cornbread. Will definitely be going back and have told my friends about it. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food came out quickly considering how busy they were.
