I was there when they first opened...this is a while back. I was under the impression that they closed permanently during the pandemic only to find out that they are open as a takeout. GREAT!!!!! Vietnamese and Thai are my favorite cuisines. It was & probably still is a small place, four or five tables. It's a husband and wife team. I don't recall their names. She's in the kitchen & he's in the front. I spoke with both of them at length about procuring Thai spices and products in Westchester county NY. I do remember I had Tom Yum soup and that was delicious, don't recall the appetizer or the entree. I also remember I was sweating from the spicy heat of the food. Probably the best Thai in Westchester If you're a visitor to Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow and heat junky pay Chok Chok a visit or at least order take out. It's within walking distance of The Old Dutch Church/Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and Phillipsburg Manor. I love Thai food but didn't have much hope of finding it in Westchester, so was pleasantly surprised to see Chuchok nearby! Kind of funny that they ask for orders in advance by email, but it worked well for me as I like to plan meals in advance anyway. Place is a little house on Old Broadway and is family run; they have a bit of a following and so try to avoid being overrun. Cashier was very nice (and funny) and prices were reasonable. For an appetizer we got the chicken wontons special. These were simple but we done, with a bit of scallion inside and an addictive chili sauce. I got the pad kee mao with shrimp for my main. It was one of the better renditions I've had of this dish. It was super spicy without going overboard, rice noddles were good, and it had plenty of veggies. Just wish it had more shrimp, although the shrimp they used were very high quality. My wife got the pad se ew and loved it. So it seems the whole email ordering thing was worth it after all. I came to Chuchok Thai from a recommendation on a week night for dinner. Since I've been in Westchester, good Thai food has been a rarity and I was looking forward to a classic Pad Thai. I emailed for my order (contact@chuchokthai.com) around 11am for pick up and I got a reply about less than an hour after I sent the email. I've never emailed for my order before but it went pretty smoothly which I was surprised about. Chuchok is a a small restaurant ran out of a house and you can see parts of the kitchen next to the store front they have. There wasn't dining available when I went. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and the Mango Sticky Rice. I was craving sticky rice and I shelled out for a whole mango. The rice was light blue/purple in color! The mango was super ripe, which was nice. The coconut drizzle wasn't as sweet as I had hoped but it was still good. The Pad Thai was more vinegary than what I was use to. Also, I didn't get a good lime so I got minimal lime juice return. The dish was still good and I would go back to try the other dishes. Overall, pretty good Thai place in Westchester. read more

Used to be great, but the last few times I've been very disappointed. This place is close to use and we used to really love it. However in the past few months the portions have gotten small and stingy. Like I used to have tons of leftovers and now I'm hungry after eating.... On top of that the prices have literally risen 50%. Veggie and tofu noodles have gone from $12 to $18. That's insane, especially when I literally get three chunks of tofu in my dish. Ordered from Chuchok for the first time this evening. Ordered the Tom Yum Soup and Pad Kee Mau with Chicken. The soup was fantastic. It was very tasty, and had hints of heat without having overpowering heat. Maybe one of the best ones I've ever tasted. The Pad Kee Mau, however, was disappointing. Nice assortment of chicken, noodles and vegetables. But kind of bland, not much flavor, not much sauce and not as spicy as it should be. I am so psyched to have found this place. Since moving to Hastings, we hadn't found good Thai food in the Rivertowns. I'm not a Thai food expert by any stretch, but I lived there for an extended period of time and I'm pretty picky about American Thai takeout. We tried Chuchok last night and I am thrilled. The food is legit! The pad krakow is spicy, so if you're hesitant about spice, maybe let them know before ordering. Also, the wait time on the weekends is long, probably due to the dearth of other good Thai places nearby. The website recommends placing orders by 3pm for evening pickup on the weekends (!!!). Given that they're so popular (and every single store/restaurants/business in the country is hiring), that doesn't surprise me. I totally appreciate that the gentleman gave us the heads-up vs letting us wait. All I can say is that I hope they connect with a business consultant who can help them manage their business more efficiently. What a treat! Been searching for good Thai in Sleepy Hollow (I've been spoiled with phenomial ones in the city), and discovered this quaint husband and wife restaurant. The decor and arrangement immediately makes you feel like you are eating at a friend's home; you feel welcomed with warmth and wished you could've stayed a little longer when you leave. The food is exceptionally well done; the shrimp rolls were fried to perfection with a sweet Thai sauce, the pad see ew had a deep soy sauce flavor that permeates through the noodles, and shrimp pad Thai where you can taste almost every ingredient in it (the slight tamarind taste shines through and does not overpower). I felt like I was eating at home! I am very glad to finally find a Thai place I can consider a second home. P.S. they do delivery and lunch specials! Authentic Thai food from a passionate team of restauranteurs. Chuchok Thai, if you're going by reviews on Yelp, might have an unorthodox reputation. The building is small, with few tables and no wait staff at all. Some food will come out in take-out trays, others on fine china plates. The dine-in experience is not ideal, truth be told, despite the pleasant employees and clean atmosphere. So, as a take-out restaurant Chuchok finds its legs. Waits can still take a bit longer than most take-out joints, but the small team make it worthwhile. Highlights include their rice (sounds simple but good rice is crucial!) and perfectly-fried rama satay chicken; it was light and crisp, yet tender under the crunch! The pad preaw wan was a tangy medley of vegetables and beef (you can choose from slew of different meat, shrimp, and tofu). A little too sweet perhaps, and the beef was a little tough... Similarly, the pork belly in the kana moo grob was just a bit too far on the fatty side, though the Thai broccoli mixed in was great. Appetizer highlights include pork buns (delicious, sweet filling!) and the crispy chive pancake. The fried fish cakes were interesting, but a bit rubbery. If I sound critical know that Chuchok Thai has fully entered my rotation of take-out picks! They're more than endearing and the food is good; I've just yet to find the dish they excel at. I had just about given up on finding good Thai food in Westchester after trying a few other places that were incredibly mediocre at best. Decided to give Chuchok a try -- it's located on the ground floor of a house, with not much parking and not much seating inside, so mainly a take out establishment. I believe there's no option to place online orders, so you have to call in. I placed an order around 5PM on a Saturday night and had a pretty standard wait time for the food, so can't speak to the other reviews about long wait times. I ordered the chicken pad thai as takeout, which was pretty solid, hit the spot, and satisfied my cravings for Thai food. I wouldn't say this is the best pad thai that I've ever had, but far from the worst, and pretty authentic. Would definitely recommend Chuchok to anyone in Westchester who is similarly disillusioned by the Thai food scene here -- the food here will not disappoint! read more

This place is taking pick-up orders during COVID! Placed an order early in the evening and food was ready in 30 minutes, checking out was quick and easy. Everything we ordered was delicious (papaya salad, pad see ew, pad prik khing, chicken wings with chili sauce, and green curry), but I ESPECIALLY want to highlight the chicken wings and green curry which were flavorful and packed some serious heat to offset the sweetness. The best Thai food I have EVER had. It is actually so good it is insane. They do take very long time so if you email them ahead of time you can get the food at a reasonable hour. No matter how long the wait is, however, it is worth it. This is a very small establishment and you just know the cooks make the food with such care. Anything you get will be amazing. I had dinner in the restaurant two weeks ago, only to wait almost an hour for my dinner; I told myself that they're new...it has to get better. It hasn't. I think we are an overcrowded community and we all want very good Thai, not mediocre. I have dined in once, one time left because no dine in available and take-out would take more than an hour because small place, only 3 small tables, and one cook. This time, I ordered take-out early. I was told to get food at a certain time and decided to show up 15 to 20 minutes later than suggested time. I do not eat meat nor tofu nor veganized meats. Only fish option is shrimp. I had a very delicious Pad Ginger Shrimp, there were onions, scallions, red bell pepper, baby corn, I think shishito mushrooms, and of course, yummy ginger. Not a spicy dish but probably could ask for hot peppers. It came with jasmine white rice. The other dish was a Green Curry Shrimp, that was kicking spicey, I couldn't even taste the ginger, and I had mixed vegetables added for $3 more, broccoli and not sure what other veg was included, this also came with a side of jasmine rice. I suggest that they offer other fish options like Cod, Salmon, Snapper, etc. I would think Thailand is known for fish besides chicken, beef, and pork. And for take-out containers, not the aluminum pans for those of us who can pick up that metal taste in their foods (yes, I cannot drink beer out of can, only bottles). As for making faster time, I cannot think of any suggestions unless they somehow expand their kitchen and dining size which would mean they would have to change locations to another Sleepy Hollow local, add more cooks and servers, have a multiple line phone. Your order goes in line with take out orders as well so we ended up waiting about 20 minutes, but the food was excellent. Very authentic Thai food and very flavorful. I happened to be in the Tarrytown neighborhood this past weekend and discovered this gem. I called in my order for take out and spoke with the greatest and most friendliest gentleman named Sean. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (very yummy), shrimp rolls and Thai curried fish cakes (also very good). Sean called me to let me know when my order would be ready for pick up, and also when it was ready. This is what you really call great customer service. Really great Thai food! Wonderful true Thailand foods. Noi the owner chef is from Thailand and cooks her authentic foods with care & love. Please keep in mind this is mostly a take out restaurant and seating limited. The good news is that they take reservations if you want to eat here! I highly recommend this option. Due to the chef being the only person in the tiny kitchen, food preparation does take time. They are an extremely busy restaurant (which means its good) so call your to go order in early. Give it an hour or so in advance. Worth every bite. We always go when they open at noon or at 5 when they open for dinner. We like to eat there as the Noi husband Sean runs the front of the house and its nice to sit in there to enjoy conversation and the kids love this place. Kids know its worth the wait. Also you can usually get a scoop of rice or spring rolls if kids are starving. Just order right away or call it in, on your way to restaurant. We love our takeout too for busy week nights & we don't want to cook. Chicken satay is delicious. Spring rolls are great. Pad Thai authentically perfect. Curries are delicious. Fried Rice is the best and girls love the crispy pork belly and green curry divine. We honestly have not had anything here that is not delectable. We called at 5:30pm and ordered the drunken noodles with pork belly, green curry with chicken, and a scallion pancake. The person on the phone checked with the chef who estimated about 30 minutes. Our food was indeed ready when we picked it up 30 minutes later. The meal was tasty and we will definitely order from here again. We are excited to have a good Thai restaurant in the area. Note: Like others, we have also had the experience of being told it would be 2+ hours for food on a Saturday night, and so we decided to eat elsewhere. Basically don't go if you are in a rush, the service was very slow, but they are just getting started so I'm sure there are kinks to be worked out.
