    Chicken Pad Thai
    Mei P.

I came to Chuchok Thai from a recommendation on a week night for dinner. Since I've been in Westchester, good Thai food has been a rarity and I was looking forward to a classic Pad Thai. I emailed for my order (contact@chuchokthai.com) around 11am for pick up and I got a reply about less than an hour after I sent the email. I've never emailed for my order before but it went pretty smoothly which I was surprised about. Chuchok is a a small restaurant ran out of a house and you can see parts of the kitchen next to the store front they have. There wasn't dining available when I went. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and the Mango Sticky Rice. I was craving sticky rice and I shelled out for a whole mango. The rice was light blue/purple in color! The mango was super ripe, which was nice. The coconut drizzle wasn't as sweet as I had hoped but it was still good. The Pad Thai was more vinegary than what I was use to. Also, I didn't get a good lime so I got minimal lime juice return. The dish was still good and I would go back to try the other dishes. Overall, pretty good Thai place in Westchester.

Delicious and authentic Thai food. Such a surprise to come across this quaint place. I ordered the lunch special ground chicken kaprow with rice and it was divine. Spices perfectly and reminds me of my favorite vacation destination, Thailand. It came with super fresh, crispy egg rolls. So good I had to order more food to take home! Aroy mak!

What a treat! Been searching for good Thai in Sleepy Hollow (I've been spoiled with phenomial ones in the city), and discovered this quaint husband and wife restaurant. The decor and arrangement immediately makes you feel like you are eating at a friend's home; you feel welcomed with warmth and wished you could've stayed a little longer when you leave. The food is exceptionally well done; the shrimp rolls were fried to perfection with a sweet Thai sauce, the pad see ew had a deep soy sauce flavor that permeates through the noodles, and shrimp pad Thai where you can taste almost every ingredient in it (the slight tamarind taste shines through and does not overpower). I felt like I was eating at home! I am very glad to finally find a Thai place I can consider a second home. P.S. they do delivery and lunch specials! P.P.S. the photos of the other dishes mentioned are not available because I ate them too quickly. Oops!

Steamed pork buns. Great filling, though not a lot of it, and a good doughy wrapper!

Authentic Thai food from a passionate team of restauranteurs. Chuchok Thai, if you're going by reviews on Yelp, might have an unorthodox reputation. The building is small, with few tables and no wait staff at all. Some food will come out in take-out trays, others on fine china plates. The dine-in experience is not ideal, truth be told, despite the pleasant employees and clean atmosphere. So, as a take-out restaurant Chuchok finds its legs. Waits can still take a bit longer than most take-out joints, but the small team make it worthwhile. Highlights include their rice (sounds simple but good rice is crucial!) and perfectly-fried rama satay chicken; it was light and crisp, yet tender under the crunch! The pad preaw wan was a tangy medley of vegetables and beef (you can choose from slew of different meat, shrimp, and tofu). A little too sweet perhaps, and the beef was a little tough... Similarly, the pork belly in the kana moo grob was just a bit too far on the fatty side, though the Thai broccoli mixed in was great. Appetizer highlights include pork buns (delicious, sweet filling!) and the crispy chive pancake. The fried fish cakes were interesting, but a bit rubbery. If I sound critical know that Chuchok Thai has fully entered my rotation of take-out picks! They're more than endearing and the food is good; I've just yet to find the dish they excel at. I will though!

Best Thai in Westchester, hands down. Green Curry is addictive, Drunken Noodles are outstanding and Spicy Papaya salad is legit.

There were also several picnic benches around the side of the building, but I wasn't clear if they belonged to the restaurant. You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

Going inside Grass Roots Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. The aesthetics put me in the mind of earth day and such beautiful paintings on the wall and flowers and greenery throughout. Grass Roots Kitchen offers have high tops dining as well as, regular dining, and outside dining. The dining area is pretty large, length wise and beautifully attractive. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit with the help of the cashier, I didn't get her name and it's on the receipt but I threw it out. Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! That smells nice. I thought she was giving me a compliment on the order until I sniffed the bag. Normally I don't do well with my sense of smell but, boy oh boy! That was a gooooooood smelling biscuit. And the taste, it tastes so good, it makes you want to slap yo momma. (Don't do it, it just makes you want to slap her.) Needless to say, I really enjoyed this cheese biscuit. In hindsight I guess I could have grabbed a hot drink, maybe next time, and there will be a next time because I told the lady that this was my first time and at the restuarant and I'm new in the area. Every dish hit the table hot and quickly without feeling rushed, which I always appreciate. Great casual lunch or dinner spot! Catch up with friends or enjoy a lowkey dinner without feeling rushed or overly formal Also love that this spot is BYOB. I paired my meal with a Thai iced tea -- flavorful and refreshing, just not overly sweet (which some people might actually prefer). Appetizers: The curry puffs were delicious -- flaky, flavorful, but I definitely wished there were more than three. Chicken satay was well executed, but the honey ribs completely stole the spotlight. Super tender, flavorful, and easily the must-order on the starter list. Entrees: We ordered the deep fried filet snapper (with white rice) and the chicken Khao Soi. The Khao Soi was the standout of the night -- perfectly cooked noodles and a rich, coconut curry broth that was easily 10/10. The snapper was fried beautifully, and the mixed vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and bright -- almost ceviche-like in flavor. Portions were satisfying enough that I had zero room for dessert, but this is absolutely a spot I'd come back to explore more of the menu.

We ordered beef satay, Thai fried rice, duck chili basil, and chicken red curry. I also had a bowl of Tom Yum soup, which was excellent -- fresh ingredients, tasty, spicy, and refreshing. Everything was flavorful and well prepared as usual. We also had a bottle of Singha beer and Thai green iced tea -- both great, and the imported Thai beer here is still very reasonably priced at $5.95. The restaurant was busy during our visit, which is usually a good sign. A couple things caught us off guard this time. We asked for shrimp crackers to snack on before the food arrived -- something they used to give complimentary -- and later noticed a $5 charge for them on the bill. There was also a 3% credit card fee added with no mention of it beforehand. If costs are rising and adjustments are needed, that's understandable. Just be transparent about it so customers aren't surprised when the bill arrives. The food itself was still very good, but the unexpected charges took a little shine off the experience this time.
