Hot chocolate, cakes and ice cream!

I can't think of the last time I ate here. Used to come with either my grandparents or my dad. Fun nostalgic childhood memories!! Came tonight for Mardi Gras indulgence!! I pretty much tried a little of all my old favorites! The highlights were: Salad with 1000 Island dressing and beets, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese, ham fried rice and pepperoni pizza!! Dessert highlights: Rice pudding, bread pudding, multi color mini marshmallows and hot chocolate!! Thanks for the delicious stroll down memory lane!! I've wanted to do this for a while!!

Salad bar. Only place that stayed stocked lol

Pleasantly surprised. This place was much better than the reviews. Sorely was our server and she was so kind and hard working. She brought us drinks, checked on us multiple times, cleared our plates, offered refills, and was also replenishing the food on the buffet tables. All the staff was very nice and friendly. The beef carving station was moist and tender. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and so flavorful without being greasy. Everything was delicious except the mac n cheese and frog eye salad but it might just be me. Every dessert I tried was really good (carrot cake, German choc cake, rice pudding, bread pudding) but the peach cobbler was just ok. Soups were good but a bit salty. Corn bread was great. I would come again.

Dessert bar, argh! the carrot cake is gone! Don't worry, they brought another shortly after. Pumpkin pie on the lower right.

I went to the SLC 400S Chuck-A-Rama for Thanksgiving this year, being it was just going to be my wife and I as my children were with other family and friends this year. The two of us ate for around $50 which was much less expensive than buying and cooking all the Thanksgiving food from the grocery store. The wait around 2:00PM was 30 minutes. The food was quite good, definitely not gourmet but better than most cafeteria-style restaurants or grocery store delis! The service was great- they sat us quickly in a more remote corner, as we requested, and made sure our drinks stayed full. The food offered included roasted ham and turkey carved at the bar, fresh-made cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, or just fancy green beans if you prefer, turkey with stuffing, as well as a lot of the usual Chuck-A-Rama food including rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, lots of boiled/steamed vegetable options, the salad bar, and of course the desert bar, with pumpkin pie for the season. Out of everything I sampled, I'd skip only the "sweet potato" (actually yam) casserole. I just can't eat that with pineapple and marachino cherries in it! They had roasted pumpkin or butter squash with a little butter and brown sugar which was much more appetizing, anyway. Some of the desserts were a bit sweet for my tastes, but the carrot cake was delicious and the bread pudding wasn't bad. One note, the potatoes au gratin (sorry, I can't bring myself to call them "funeral potatoes"- food dish names are supposed to tell you the principal elements in them and sound delicious, not remind you of death) were amazing. Don't pass them up or you'll be missing something! There was also lots of kid-pleasing foods including the aforementioned rolls, cheesy, creamy macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, fresh fruit, jello, and cookies to name a few I know that my youngest grandson loves. There were several folks filling aluminum roasting pans to take food home or to loved ones. Overall, they made us feel welcome, filled us up, and sent us merrily on our way! Not bad at all for a Thanksgiving afternoon.

Overall impression: I had such a great time here. It made my life so good Average price: $14.99/dinner for adults $12.74/dinner for seniors 60+ Kids are on a sliding scale Ambience It was just great. Clean. Kinda loud with lots of kids running around which is basically what I don't mind when coming to this kind of place with my own kids. Buffet area was actually very well organized Service Outstanding! Our section had one guy (John) who was just working super hard and basically for no tips. He cleared our table and plates almost as soon as we finished with them. Always asked if we needed drinks. Felt like a fine dining experience. Food Hey I thought it was great. Lots of options, fast turnover and many things were delicious. Sure it might not be top end but I was happy with it. Value Totally worth it.

Food and service are always good. The variety is not as broad as many buffets, but the quality is good.

Mid at best. Decent food and service but it's clearly an all you can eat buffet where it's flavorless and overly heavy

The bathroom is hidden to the right of the store walking in. Just a warning, the further you go in the store, the more it smells like bathroom... When I first walked in, I wasn't greeted - which is fine, there were a handful of people inside. While ordering, I had asked what was popular and what the cashier suggests, and she said "matcha". I told her it was my first time but she didn't proceed with any recommendations. I decided to go with the ube matcha with oatmilk. She then asked if I'd like cream with it, I had asked if she suggested it and she responds with "well everyone gets it with creamer". Ok so I agreed to try it out. Why not cause everyone gets it with creamer right? I waited about 10 mins, which isn't bad considering the amount of people. She called my name and had 3 other drinks with her. I asked her if the one she was handing me was with oatmilk , and she says "well that's what you ordered right" I tried it and it wasn't oatmilk. I brought it up to her attention and she kinda just said "sorry" and that was all....unfortunately, I can't say it was the best service. If I decide to come back next time, I'll only get straight matcha instead of a latte just to try again. The matcha didn't have a strong taste to it. It was on the watery side. Perhaps I came on the wrong day a they were off with their orders. Who knows...

Their fruit-shaped creations are little works of art--so realistic it almost feels wrong to eat them... almost. Each pastry is fresh, light, and packed with flavor. The pistachio was incredibly tasty, though definitely on the richer side, so it's one you might want to savor slowly. The raspberry had a beautifully balanced sweetness with a vibrant, delicious filling. The lemon was very zingy--almost intensely so--but still delightful if you enjoy bold citrus flavors (just maybe not an entire one in a single sitting). The standout, though, was the mango. Easily the winner. It had such a bright, powerful flavor, and the fresh mango inside made every bite feel special. Everything about it--from taste to presentation--was just beautiful. The only slight letdown was the macarons. While still good, they didn't quite match the intensity and uniqueness of the pastries and felt a bit underwhelming in comparison. Overall, this place is a must-visit if you appreciate creative, high-quality desserts. It's clear a lot of skill and care goes into every piece. I loved the building that the pastry shop was in, as it had a "lunch room" feel to it. There are a few restaurants inside so there are options and there's plenty of seating.

The sweet cashier recommended Strawberry & Mango, so that's what we got. They were delicious! I think the mango was my personal favorite. The crunch of the chocolate coating was so satisfying and the fillings soft and gooey. It didn't feel artificial either! The location is in a food mall, which I wasn't expecting but it was so cute inside. I wish we had more time to check out the other vendors but we'll have to come back. On a separate note, it was kind of hard to find a trash can.

He had the real revolving gelato freezer cases. Best gelato I've ever had since. This gelato is pretty good, though does not live up to being quite as authentic. I can't put my finger on it, but something about the texture is not quite right. Close, but not 100%. Still very good, though. Regular flavors. No lavender or other exotic flavors that you would find at other true Italian gelato places. But very good flavors. I recommend that you give them a try. You will like it. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind.
