What do you expect from Chuck E. Cheese? We go there for the games and rides. I find those coupons you can get online. The best so far has been 'Buy 40 Tokens, Get 60 Free for $10.00'. Much cheaper than John's Incredible Pizza. My daughter, who just turned 6, prefers this place over Johns. Personally, we don't go for the food. We tend to have lunch/dinner at home and then spend an hour here with the discount tokens. It works out very nicely when the weather tops 100 degrees! I agree that Chuck E. Cheese is an introduction to gambling - which is bad! But, oh, how I do love Skeeball - which is good! Actually, I must admit that I am just a teensy bit addicted to Skeeball. I even convinced my work colleagues to play Skeeball here as an employee-bonding, outing thing. Isn't that terrible? I had a creepy experience here though. Because they do serve beer, I think it adds just a touch of...oh, I don't know...trashiness, perhaps? I saw a guy wearing a baseball cap, large dark sunglasses and 7-day facial growth. First time ever visit for my granddaughters ages 5 and 20 months old. As a retired elementary teacher, I have been to many "Chuck E Cheese Pizza Nights" and was pleasantly surprised at the nice updates including a swipe card to use for rides and games and the availability of well placed booths for people to eat while watching their party play games, ride or play on the climbing structures. I appreciate their focus on kid safety as you are stamped with an invisible number which corresponds to your child's number. As you exit, these numbers are checked to make sure you have your child. Worst service when i came up to get my baby a prize,first off the women that was suppose to help out with prizes was not even there she walked out 4 min later, super slow coming out the door like she didnt want to even be there. This is a kids friendly environment and people like her shouldnt be there at all makes me feel unsafe takening my child there. The cheese sticks were nothing but grease and same with the pizza and the salad bar had nothing fresh at all on it it was gross and no one had fresh salad stuff at all and also they had no lids to fit the water cups for the kids. I figured I would put in a recent review for this place because it's been years since I have been here! When I walked in I was asked how old I was because apparently I looked under 18! Lol I'm 22 years old so I get it, I look young but I guess the rule is...if you're 18 or under you can't enter without an adult? I thought 18 years old was a legal adult if it not mistaken. Anyways on the actual place itself. I'm here on a Wednesday it's mid afternoon and I was surprised to not see many people are actually here. One thing I noticed is that the old robotic guys on the stage don't sing anymore they just kind of move back and forth. Extremely creep looking if you ask me. The games are a little updated from what I can see, so it seems to keep kids entertained. Everything looks a bit dirty though. Like this place could use a very good wipe down. The floors weren't vacuumed and there was a bunch of little food and particles on the ground. Second I noticed that one table had cardboard holding the foot so it was balanced correctly. It's small but still looks kinda janky yah know? I went to the bathroom to see what they looked like and they are okay, they could be cleaner but kids go in there and get crazy I'm sure. All in all the cleanliness of this place could be better, and the vibes here are extremely boring for adults and older kids but it all depends on the person I guess. The manager was extremely polite and made sure we were doing okay, the employees are alright as well, not very energetic or social for that matter. Brought my grandkids to Chuck-E-Cheese Thursday October 18th. Worst experienceof my life. I've been coming here for 40-plus years. Couldn't read the code on my coupon so sitting here struggling to find another coupon that they can read. Ended up spending $20 more than I needed to. There's an in-store coupon and the manager or the cashier never gave me any information about it. This place is completely empty. I wonder why? After all the years of enjoying Chuck-E-Cheese I doubt if I'll ever come back. Seems counterproductive that you charge so much money for an hour worth of play and you can't even help your customers find coupons and the place is empty. Just as great as I remember it as kid, minus the pocketfuls of jingling coins! They have changed over to card form. Simply load the card with as much as you're heart desires and have fun. After reading some of the other reviews I was compelled to defend this place a bit.... First of all, people for the love of God, get this through your thick skulls, Chuck E Cheeses isn't a freaking gourmet pizzeria. The pizza here is supposed to be greasy and cardboard like. That's exactly how I remember it as a child. That's what makes it so great, it's something you never got to have at home and boy did it taste good! The salad bar is just there to shut the health nuts up, it's not supposed to be great, you are at Chuck E Cheese's not Fresh Choice. And last but not least, yes!this place is meant to be a money pit. I relived my childhood today! Crazy how I used to look forward to this place more than anything, it was like Disneyland! Games: the games aren't too modern, but there's still your classic wheel of fortune, skee ball, and air hockey! Three stars because many times I scanned my electronic card and it charged the card but the game didn't end up working so it was kinda a jip for a couple of the games. I recommend playing the pink panther game it's so fun and addicting! Tickets: Many games only give you a few tickets, and the prizes are measly for the amount of tickets so definitely don't come here only to win prizes, come for the fun! We had 200 tickets and could only get the little prizes like a piece of candy and such. I think they should consider upgrading the prizes/rewards for your ticket count! This is definitely a kids place (emphasis on kid) I'd say it's good for ages 4-7 and then after that they may not be too thrilled or excited. This place is like the kids version of going to Las Vegas. Sounds coming from all directions, kids anxiously waiting for their "machines" to spit out their big winnings (tickets) and the more coins you give them, the more they want to spend. I took 5 kids to Chuck E Cheese's for one my sons' birthday last week. They LOVED it. They were each given a shitload of tokens and sent out into the madness. I wondered around, putting a token here and a token there. What a rip off! Before I even knew whatever game had started it was "game over" and spit out ONE ticket. The kids didn't seem to mind as they would just keep feeding these greedy machines token after token and getting super excited over the ticket they got that would soon get them THE PRIZE OF A LIFETIME! (totally kidding, all they give out are those things you get per dozen at Oriental trading for about a dollar and even so the kids need like a gazillion tickets) As far as I was concerned there were only 2 really cool things there. One of them took a picture and sketched it for only one token and the other was a picture printed on a really cute plastic card that was worth more than whatever they got for all the tickets they accumulated and it cost only one token also. I had not taken my kids here in years as the last time I took them, one of my kids ended up hospitalized because he caught a really nasty virus from this place. I took them again because now they are bigger and know not to touch things and put hands in their mouths. Main complaints about this one, as to why I am reviewing it less than the other Sacramento are counterparts. 1) Size: Its not that big, less games than most, and ultimately at least a few are out of order (such as the bowling game). 2) I always appreciate (gag) when I am waiting in line for a few minutes while the manager and two other coworkers take part in friendly banter. I mean, its not like my little sister isn't antsy after a week at school (and me after my two job lifestyle) to get right into the games. After the banter is over and attention is turned to me, then complain about working almost a ten hour shift with "this staff." While it is not good business practices to bitch about your job around customers, you have little sympathy from me, as I work 40+ hours night shift in the ER, and guess what my second job is, lady.....that's right, working with kids. After venting to me, she finally took my order, and started to process my credit card wrong, and joked she should pay better attention. You think?!?!? I went with some family members, and my two year old today. It's really not the same as it used to be. The play center is gone. No more climbing, no more ball pit. All of the games rip you off. ALL of thems. On numerous (like 5) occasions we hit the "jackpot", and it gave us 2 tickets. After telling the attendant they gave us 4 tokens, and 50 tickets (not OK). In the kids section, two of the games were broken. The steering wheel had broken off of one, and the mallet game just started vibrating while we were playing it - again, no tickets. There is a game that involves hitting the button to stop on a certain number, or "jackpot". It's like my game, I own that game. At Johns, I can sit there all night and hit the jackpot playing that game. At Chuck E Cheeses', nope. I showed my cousin while I was playing. Aimed for the number before the jackpot, got it. Aimed for the number after the jackpot, got it. This was the same for the wheel/slot game also. On top of that, you don't win ANY of the games. It's ridiculous. $35 in tokens. 680 tickets. 2$ worth of prizes (if that). My advice: Go to johns incredible pizza factory. The games are CHEAPER. My daughter and I won the same amount of tickets for half the price, better games, THAT YOU ACTUALLY WIN (cause they aren't rigged) and, THEY HAVE RIDES. GAWD! I hate this place. Ghetto, some of my friends have called Chuck E. Cheese's. Its crowded with smelly, snot nosed kids. The parents are overweight, bossy mothers who won't get out of your way. My grandfather came from Covelo (4hour drive) to bring the grandkids here 3/12/16 The service sucked! The chubby cashier was rude. Found a table and had to ask the door lady for it be wiped off, since no one else was on the floor. No one came so I finally had to ask again. I went to the restroom and it was disgusting! I walked out and there was an employee coming out of a room. I asked if there was a family bathroom she said No. I told her if was so gross! She said Oh that's not my job that's Ross. Great place to take the kids. We visited on a Sunday around 7pm. The place was not crowded which is always nice (Expected - 90min til closing). The reason I gave five stars is mainly because of the manager. He's friendly, responds quickly to issues (Re: Ice machine), and sets a good example to the staff. Also, having five years of sales experience I can say the staff are good at upselling. The place was clean, friendly staff and the pizza was good n cheesy, just the way we like it (Ordered a personal size pepperoni) Bottom Line: I haven't been to Check E. I live in Roseville and the Chuck E Cheese that is close to my house is not one I like to go to because it gets too busy and too crowded. I love this particular one because it is either really slow or slightly busy. I take my son here about twice a month if I can and he's not complaining, but then again, he's three. I bring my three year old nephew here every once in a while, he has a very short attention span and this place keeps him going for hours. We went once on a Friday evening and it was a very rough crowd. The adults are really rude and will cut off the kids to play a game, and don't watch their own kids who were too old to be there in the first place. I feel sorry for what the staff must have to deal with :( I have no complaints about the weekday mornings. You get the place to yourself and the staff is always super friendly and accommodating. The pizza isn't the best and looks pretty scary after 5 minutes so I would suggest eating beforehand or sticking to salad and sides.
