Instead of giving me space to manage my own child, the employee responded with "within reason" and continued hovering. The whole situation was handled quickly, once I got my drink and sat it down at the table in the play area, I was able to redirect my daughter to the rides and everything was fine. Also note, her father was there next to my daughter and she chose ME to come up to vs the father (he is perfectly capable). What made the interaction frustrating is that my daughter is autistic, and we are working through situations like this as she learns to navigate busy environments. This outing was actually a big step for our family to see how she would do in a place like this, and overall she did great! We are so proud of her. She wasn't bothering anyone, and the moment of fussing passed quickly. Parents, especially those with children who have special needs sometimes just need a moment to help their child regulate. A little understanding and patience would go a long way. The kids ended up having a great time after that, but the unnecessary interference from the staff member definitely left a bad impression. I hope management reminds staff that sometimes the best thing they can do is simply give parents the space to handle their children. With it being early February and pretty cold out, alot of the outside attractions were closed. We came right after breakfast on a Sunday, so those could have been factors also. We went to the counter and let them know and they kindly reloaded our cards. It happened a few times and honestly I think they were starting to think we were trying to scam them into recharging our cards. Either that, or we weren't swiping the card correctly. Neither of those were the case and we offered to show them which game it was each time, and offered to demonstrate with our card how it took the money and didn't start. They said that wasn't necessary, and a staff member would walk over with us so they could figure out what was going on and put a sign if necessary. The little photo booths are fun, but again, there are two and only one was working. All in all the facility was very clean and kept up. I noticed there were staff members constantly walking around picking up trash, and forgotten items from other guests. There were even a couple wiping down games and sanitizing them. I appreciate that cause well, you know...kids are gross including my own sometimes lol! Being charged for services not received, with no practical cancellation option, feels unfair and misleading. I strongly recommend that anyone considering Golfland Sunsplash carefully review all contract terms and cancellation policies before signing. Based on my experience, once you're in, it's nearly impossible to get out--even when services are not being provided. Kyla was not at all helpful.
