Game attendant shrugged when I told him. -cockroaches in bathroom! 2 live (but dying). When I told game attendant, his response was "awesome". -the cleaning closet with chemicals out between the two bathrooms was left open the whole time we were there. -nobody cared or checked hand stamps as you left. My family enjoyed celebrating a birthday at Chuck E Cheese. The older kids and younger kids had fun with the games and won a reasonable amount of tickets with points that were saved from our last visit. The play cards and ticketing process is a lot smoother than it used to be. ALL the employees were very helpful and patient. I was surprised by how fun this was, even for adults. The food was quite good, too. I also like how the game cards give you the option of playing for time (and pausing you time while you eat) or for points. While I understand no outside food policies, I really expected better from Chuck E. Cheese. We went on Wednesday/midday for a belated celebratory lunch for my son's birthday with another family. There were maybe three other patrons. My son has multiple food allergies so I brought his own gluten/dairy free pizza like I've done countless times for sports and birthday parties we hosted there with no issues. When I walked in, they told me I needed to leave it in the car. I explained his allergy situation and a manager was brought over. He said the same and said they have gluten free pizza and just order no cheese (dairy allergy.) We decided to stay and let the kids play and we'd eat after at Mod Pizza in the same shopping center, rather than making him eat his pizza outside and/or watching everyone eat while he couldn't. If this rule is to get people to buy their food, it backfired. There were three other people there, so it wasn't busy. We would have ordered food for the other 5 of us, but didn't so my son could be included. For such a child centered place it just seemed ridiculous. I hate that it seems as though all these places have removed their play equipment. I grew up going to Chuck E. Cheese and it isn't the same without the tubes for my kids to play in. I have only been once since having kids of my own and it was definitely a new experience. My kids loved it because they love all the games and don't care about food. I wasn't a fan of the token and ticket system. As a kid I remember running back to my parents to ask for another token (a great way to control them being used so fast). Now you have a card and you can pay by the hour or by the token. I could see the by the hour thing being great for older kids, but mine are at the point where they will play with a game even if it isn't turned on. Last thing I will say about the games is that you need to keep an eye on your ticket count. We thought we earned a certain amount of tickets however when we went to the prize counter, they were not all there. Luckily the lady was nice to add what we thought we should have gotten. As for food, we happened to get a free pizza as the were doing their daily quality check first thing at opening and we happened to be nearest to the kitchen. I am glad we didn't have to buy a pizza because it is not the greatest pizza (that has also not changed since when I was a kid). Salad bar was good. My son and I decided to go after school today and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to a very clean establishment. We were greeted by an employee 2 min later to get our hand stamped and she was very welcoming. Pizza was good as always and salad bar area was clean. My brother & wife planned their daughter's 2nd bday party there on a Sunday & not surprisingly, it was pretty crowded. They rope off the entrance/exit as a safety precaution, but we often saw ppl letting themselves out without staff checking to see their stamps match the children they leave with. As soon as I walked in, I was taken back by the waft of some funky smell in the air, but after 30 minutes, I got used to it. All we ate was some greasy, pepperoni pizza & a pre-ordered birthday cupcake with lots of frosting on top to make it look like a cake. After dabbing a bit of the grease off the pizza & sprinkling some crushed pepper, it actually didn't taste too bad. Maybe I was just hungry. But the crust was thin & crispy, and the sauce had some decent flavor to it. I'd even go as far as to say it's better than Pizza Hut and little Caesar's! (3 stars though) The cupcake was cutely decorated & if you're a fan of frosting & yellow cake, you'd be happy with it. (3.5 stars) I noticed later that they have a basic salad bar, wings & a couple other options, but none of it seemed enticing enough for me to try. Although a couple games were out of order, my niece & nephew seemed to enjoy themselves. However, I was very disappointed that they won a lot of tickets (nearly 200) and yet, that amount only allowed them to get a few pieces of candy, a plastic bracelet & some rubbery insect toy. Worst birthday party ever. Bad service. No refills. And they had nothing in stock. You pay extra for hats, cute collectible cups and Extra tickets which we did not get any of. The other thing is if they were out of most of their sodas. They only had very few flavors. The pizza was cooked and out for an hour before we were supposed to sit down. It was ridiculous. To pay $500 for cold pizza, no refills, No hats, No collectible cup. I had a fight the staff to get us water, I had a fight to get us cups to drink out of, I had to fight to get the helium balloons we paid for. I should not have to be fighting at A birthday place I'm paying $500 it should be easy this was not an easy party this was a pain in my the butt party. We just celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday at CEC. The staff is awesome and made sure we had everything we needed to set up, feed our group of 30 kids and 35 adults. The kids had game cards and cups to take home along with pizza and dippin dots to go with the cake we brought. The kids had a blast, were contained in an area with 1 exit and a good view of where they were playing. It was a great experience and my daughter and her friends really had a wonderful time. Straight to the point; the service was HORRIBLE! We booked a party for a 6 yr old, our party time was from 3-5. We arrived 10 minutes early and were told we had to wait for our assigned time. We sat and waited patiently with 11 kids ranging from 1-17 in age. No play cards were handed to us either. We waited till 3pm and at 3pm we approached the register and proceeded to put in our party order of 5 pizzas, a sampler platter, and an order of cheese bread. They handed us our play cards then as well. Our food took 1 hour and 20 minutes to come out at which time they wanted to sing happy birthday to our birthday boy when everyone in our party had just began eating! We asked them to hold off until everyone had finished eating since they took so long to bring the food out. They finally came back to sing happy birthday at which time one of the female employees rolled her eyes at our birthday boy because he was not fast enough in approaching chucke to do the happy birthday. As paying customers this was just unacceptable behavior!!! At the end of our party we asked for boxes for the left over food and for the original cake box. Well the girl employee runs to the back and while I'm standing at the entrance and have a full view of the back I see her fetching the cake box out of the trash to come hand to me! My son had his 5th Birthday party here yesterday. The hostess basically came out, and checked off the things we had in our birthday package, and handled everything. All I had to do was go play with my kids. I feel bad they get so many bad reviews. I mean, it's Chuck E Cheese. The kids that come through here just beat the place up, and the employees are running around putting out fires everywhere, non-stop. We had a great time. Our favorite rainy day, and really any-day activity! I love this location near Nothing Bundt Caked because they are great at cleaning and being Covid-safe, and the staff are always friendly. Most of the other customers we've encountered are good at keeping space and keeping masked up,too, which is surprising here in South OC. The tickets are fairly easy to earn, to be traded for prizes, especially If you do surveys and use coupons found on their website. So, I haven't been in a Chuck E. Cheese's in easily 20 years. I wasn't sure what to expect when my daughter's school said they would do a fundraiser there. I know we wanted to support the school by attending, but kept wondering if she was age appropriate (at 3 years old) and if anything I loved about this chain growing up was still the same. There was ample parking outside at this location. We waited in line a few minutes and purchased a play card (no more tokens, guys) that was unlimited play for one hour. I thought this was awesome because you didn't worry about running out of credits - you just played as many games as you could for 60 minutes (plus we had a coupon so it was actually 75 for us - score!). But that's where the positive in my experience ends. Tunnels have been removed from this (all?) locations as well as ball pits - because some kids were pooping in them or something of the like. Bummer. Always had such fun in crawling around in those as a kid. Mostly, it's a glorified arcade. Some of the games work properly, quite a few didn't. Not just "out of order" but malfunctioning. But, I suppose when you have unlimited play this is less of an issue. Then it came time to eat. The pizza was horrid. You know dollar slice? Or like, bad microwave pizza? Well, think of that quality...but you're paying $16.00 for a pretty small medium pizza. Never need to eat that again. Chuck E's friends are gone and he didn't perform even once. Another thing I loved from when I was a kid. Bathrooms were REALLY dirty. Like, a step above a gas station. And clearly weren't being kept up... which always makes me wonder what condition the kitchen is in. And finally, when it came time to cash in our tickets it was a VERY lengthy process. They have ticket counting machines. Which are cool. But when every kid in the place wants to count their own tickets each family has a 5-8 minute excursion at the ticket counting machine. Then we walked to the counter and waited. And waited. No real line just lots of kids jammed up against the glass case and a few employees who looked like they'd rather die than give another kid a slinky. Then fuzzy Chuck takes a lap once in a while and... I kid you not... he makes it rain tickets. Like, he has a basket taht he tosses in the air and tickets rain down AND THE EIGHT YEAR-OLDS ARE LIKE SHARKS IN A FEEDING FRENZY... I think 29 kids went in to that scrum and only 27 came out... All right - so - tickets in the machine... we get our voucher and head to the counter. We had enough for a rainbow plastic slinky, some stickers, and a heart bracelet. And my kid COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PSYCHED! She was so dang excited, you guys. Like, she plays with that slinky every day - still! And we have far cooler toys at our house... like, forreals. The grandkids ( 5 yrs & 3 yrs) had an amazing time. It was quiet when we went. very few kids. Chuck E. We have come here multiple times for birthday parties & just to play. Always a good time but this past week really showed me why we love to come here! Last Friday afternoon we (husband & 2 year old daughter) came to play. It was really slow which was awesome! We came last night (Friday night) for my cousin's birthday party. I have never seen it so crowded before! They had to turn people away it was so packed! We've done many years of chuck with kids and now grandkids and this was the worst one we've ever been to. Absolutely no management and any worker you talk to will agree. You can get zero help. It is a smaller facility and with 6 broken games that cuts down on a kids fun. Only 1 machine was labeled as out of order. In addition you get these adults who use their kids hourly passes and never leave a game. One man was on the game for 1 1/2 straight hours. I asked him to leave so kids could use the game. He said no very rudely. I asked "the manager" for help. She rudely refused. There are many Chuck E. Cheese's around. This is one that should be avoided. read more

Come here pretty much every other week with my kids. For the first time i paid attention to the pizza which seemed kinda weird how some pieces were smaller than others and the cut wasn't straight. I don't know if they get slice per slice and put it together or get pieces from other pizzas that they have served before and put them on other people's orders. Also i would play the operation game and everytime i would come, the stick would be more to the side making it harder to win tickets and also it was really long than usual making it swing back and forth a lot. Told the manager (old guy walking around super fast) and he just got red and walked away. I get it they need to rig games but they made it super hard and its impossible to win.
