Chuck E. Cheese, an institution for as long as I can remember, really impressed me with their offering. They offer a clean and safe environment where, truly, a "Kid can be a kid." It's easily been three decades since I've been to a CEC and my expectations were pretty low (established on what I remember from my childhood). However, I walked away with a new sense of appreciation. While not a huge place the entire facility is sizable and offers a decent variety of games to play. Gone are the ball pits and tubes (a causality of COVID, perhaps?), however. It's all little kid riding machines, "circus-style" ticket-dispensing games, and a few video games. Kids across a wide variety of ages will have a blast here. We were there for a birthday party and they executed on that, and the five(!) others occurring simultaneously, very well. In fact, the way they coordinate the timing of the parties is very smart - there is no competing to sing or do cake (b/c all are done together). And the food - I liked it. Granted, there isn't much not to like about pitchers of juice and pizza but their pizza was pretty tasty! They also have a menu that offers plenty more plus beer and wine! All of this is presented with an over-arching level of safety: you and your child get matching (invisible) hand stamps and no child leaves unless their stamp matches the adults. I like that. It's been a while but it's been much too long. I need to frequent CEC more often, I think. They do a bang up job. read more

I haven't been to Chuck E. Cheese's in forever ever. I decide to bring my 2 year old niece here over the weekend. I found some coupons online and we were good to good. Even though the weather sucked outside it didn't stop these little kiddies Saturday Funday. Upon entering this place was an easy breeze. No long lines to my surprise. We walked right up and got our hands stamped and found us a nice window booth seat. We were all ready to have some family fun at Chuck E. Cheese. FYI... Go online and print coupons for some great deals on food. Ordering the food was terrible. It took the cashier 30 minutes just to wait on one customer. The line was beginning to form around in a circle waiting on her. It took forever but I was next in line to order my food and get the game card for my niece. Nice kiddie games for the babies to play and run around and have fun. Great atmosphere. The only problem was the food service. We waited for nearly an hour to get just one medium pizza. ???? I had to make my way up to the cashier to see what was taking my order sooooo long. The guy stated that someone was walking around delivering the food orders. Where? and When? I go back to the table and Nope not a pan or plate of pizza was placed on my table. I headed right back up to the food counter. The guy reassured me again that my pizza was delivered. Surely NOT. NO PIZZA. He goes to the back and comes back with an apology. It took another 10 minutes before we were able to get our pizza. SMH This location is clean and nice game area very spacious for the kids to have fun. But the food and service here sucks. I have a 9 year old, 6 year old & 3 year old. This is THE PLACE where they can all find something fun to play at their varying ages! We hadn't been in many months, but this location is our go-to and has been for nearly 10 years. I've always thought it was clean and welcoming but walking into the newly renovated area was such a pleasant surprise! The tables are new, the entire party area is revamped. There's a cool interactive floor game for the kids. The TVs all over is a nice added touch. We did miss seeing Chuck E come out to give away tickets!!! We go to a lot of arcades. This one makes me feel safest. The staff was friendly. Food was perfect for the kids. I wish they'd have an updated soda machine with other options though. Having fresh cotton candy makes me feel like a kid again! This is the one and only time we eat it and it's always fresh, tasty and fun to apply our tickets toward. The place is very nice and clean. At one point this was our favorite location due to size and amount of games. But now all the bonuses on the games have been lowered. WAY LOW! For example the trolls game. It had two 100 tickets pucks that you had to try and have the arm push into your zone. Well the manager had both of them removed so now it's only low numbers you could potentially win like 20 or less. All the other locations kept all their bonuses higher at 100 or above. This location has cheapened the experience. For the amount of money you pay to eat and get play cards this is unacceptable. We will will try this location one more time. Never throwing a birthday party at this location again! I called earlier to ask if I could move my 5:30 party down to a later time and they told me I'd have to reschedule for a different day. I go out of my way to arrive 20 minutes before for my 5:30 party and we were not seated til 6pm. I have struggled non stop since we arrived, we could not find our server, did not get my children's drinks until they were finished with they're meal. we asked for a pitcher of beer and they had all of the adults present their ids (which is expected) but after making us all go to the front with our ids they advices us they "ran out". I decided to do my sons birthday here so I wouldn't struggle but it turns out I was better off hosting in my own home. read more

Stopped by today (Monday) hoping that it was quieter and that they are set up correctly with new precautions with regards to Covid 19 , how wrong was I. Apart from ourselves and 2 other people, everyone else was either not wearing a mask at all or not wearing it correctly. Apart from a couple of hand sanitizer stations and the odd bottle of sanitizer here and there that was it. The carpet alone is filthy and the place just smells, it's disgusting and my 8yr old said he felt unsafe during our visit . The staff seem overwhelmed and overworked as there wasn't enough guest agents to wait on the customers lining up. Obviously everyone comes here for the kids to play, but since covid they have had some really good deals on pizzas. I personally like their pizza so it's a win/win. My only problem is my order is never ready. And with kids, especially if you bring them in to pick up the pizza, it's like you need to run in and out. Look. I know these types of establishments are expected to be icky, but this one takes it to a whole new level of ick. Nothing appears to be maintained here! The whole environment and experience is neglected. The trash is just piled up; piled up on the tables, piled up in the garbage cans, and piled up in tbe bathroom. If you're seeking a high risk ick factor, here's your cesspool Speaking of the bathroom...other customers have trashed them. People need to respect a public restroom. Other people have to use it after you, and I know you don't treat your home bathroom like that! While that filth is on the customers, the point is that you never see an employee actually cleaning up in there, and the general conditions are so old it's all falling apart. Soooooo many of the games either don't work, eat the coins, or are out of tickets. Yet, again, no employees present on the floor to help you when those darn machines prompt you to "ask for help". The only employees I actually see constantly moving and working are the ones that manage the parties. The other ones are stationed and seem handcuffed to their location. First it's been a long time since I've been here and from previous experience I was still not sure I wanted to revisit but I am glad I did. It is much much cleaner redesigned and is modern, they have a Very friendly staff who are very Accommodating. The assistant manager Jennifer is very friendly willing to go above and beyond for her customers, the food is much better than how it was before and they serve beer ( which is good ). We had a lot of fun playing the games however you still get only a few tickets at a time but that's understandable, otherwise overall I will visit this location again. read more

Smells funny in here. Maybe it's the carpeting? Oh look! Thank Jesus this place has limited climbing tunnels. The bane of my mommy existence as they are complete petri dishes for germs. Pros! (aside from limited tunnels) Limited games for the kids but perfectly catered for young kids. Each family member gets a black light stamp with a code so everyone leaves with their child and no one elses which is fantastic. Also you get 1 beer an hour. I don't really drink and never with my kids present but this is good for the parent who has their priorities mismanaged. I'd like to tip my hat to the people in charge of each party table. They hustled and got food and cut cake and helped kids wipe their hands off. They got little ones dancing to music and clapping along. These party table servers... What ever your title is... Visited this CEC early January as a "recon" visit for my 2 year olds birthday. I have driven by when shopping in the area but near visited. While we had to wait 20 minutes to get in I appreciated the crowd control. Once we got in it was crowded but we still had room to walk around. This CEC still has the play tubes which is awesome for the times we are on a budget. It gives the kids something else to do. The place was clean and staff attentive. We booked a party for my son the same evening for February. Prior to the party a staff person called to confirm the details of the party, make last minute additions, and answer questions. She was great. On the day of the party the table was set up when we came in and our hostess was very helpful. The one thing that I did not like was that our party theme was Paw Patrol. I purchased the tablecloth, plates, cups, and napkins. After I opened everything and set the table I was told that I had to use CEC cups. I should have been told this prior to arriving and opening the cups. Nevertheless, my little boy and his guest had a blast and that is what makes this mom most happy. read more

Actually a wonderful Chuck E-xperience. Starting with Jisery, the hostess at the door was sincerely friendly. The place seemed better laid out, more airy and more open than other locations. Defintely did not have the smell of wee and feet, always a plus. At 9 pm on a Sunday this place was packed. Their skeeball is impossible to win at, the lanes are too slippery, but if you have a hot blooded husband, the YoYo Punch Game and Football Endzone game are great to entertain him. Kids love the huge ride like games - A rollercoaster simulation, snowboard (which hey, lets be honest, vibrates so moms can enjoy this place too). My favorite, almost, was the Pirates of the Caribbean PINBALL!!! I love pinball, I think I would trade someone free yoga lessons or personal training for a year to get a pinball machine, they are how I relax, and almost all centers have done away with them. Now, this machine did have a wonky right flipper that stuck so it had little force, and the machine itself was a little lame on bells and whistles ( I prefer the Simpsons over this - but I digress). I like this location cause it's not overly packed so I feel comfortable leaving my table to chase after the kids I nanny! It's also nice cause the staff is quick about bringing out the food! The place is clean and well kept they don't have as many out of order games as the location in Darien. Only negative thing is they seem understaffed, I feel like they should have someone at the door at al times so they guests aren't waiting to get in. They didn't care about the fact that there were more then 10 parties waiting in line, they only had 2 registers open, while the rest of the staff was wondering around, chatting with each other and laughing. Went at 5 pm on a rainy Sun for my son's bday. Me, the hubs, my 3 kids + 1 friend. Food is acceptable. Facility overall is quite dirty. The carpet is filthy, and in the women's restroom, there were 3 or 4 toilets, and 1 was completely stopped up and disgusting. Nice. Fire alarm kept going off, and at one point, we had to gather our belongings, and wait outside for fire dept, for 10-15 min, in the rain/drizzle. A worker told us this happens often when it rains. Really ? Hubs went to order pizza/drinks, and I took the kids to get a table, and then I took them to get tokens. $20 for 90 tokens, OK sounds good. Later learned that the Hubs also got 90 tokens for $20 as part of a meal deal. So we had 180 tokens. I pleaded with the cashier but she would not refund our $. I was very angry. Chuck E. Cheese's where a Mexicutioner can be a kid. First things first: this business is in Villa Park, not Elmhurst. Secondly, it is a little known fact that The Mexicutioner loves video games. It's a shame that I had to be around kids in order to enjoy the powerful combination of pizza and video games. Now for the review. The service was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The video games are 1 token per game, which is quite reasonable especially if you order one of their special deals. The pizza came out quickly and they have a soda fountain (pepsi Max is a plus for the kiddies) for easy refills. I would say that better pizzas are available elsewhere, but not with the selection of video games that was also available. The video games are somewhat outdated, but still fun if you're looking for some lunchtime gaming. There were not a lot of kids in the establishment on the Friday that I visited, which was a plus. I emerged victorious at two racing games marking me as the champion racer for the day. I also won skee-ball everytime I played against myself. I was about to complete the game winning drive on the quarterback toss, when at the least minute I was "sacked" by a youngster scavenging for tickets. Not something I expected. Surprisingly good pizza and wings and i'm glad they added a few more games for toddlers under 5 could play. There will always be the crazy kids running around not looking where they're going, so I can't get made... it's kids being kids. If you want to play video games as an adult, go to Dave & Busters and don't complain about the little kids everywhere at CHUCK E CHEESE... seriously.
