I came here for breakfast today for the first time. When I walked in it felt like I was walking into a restaurant in Texas. We got seated as soon as we walked in and service was very prompt. The service was amazing and the young lady that helped us was very friendly. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs with biscuits this is the reason I'm giving it four out of five stars, the home fries were seasoned well but the batter for the chicken fried steak needed seasoning it tasted like plain flour but the steak was tender. Went to this location recently. My friend found a hair in her food, but other than that the food was okay. Now where it gets bad is when you first enter. It has like a musky old smell. The worst part is the bathroom! It legitimately looks like it's never been cleaned since the place opened it's absolutely disgusting. It's really off putting to use a restroom like that and then go back out and eat your food. I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like! read more

We've been coming here for a while, food and service was always excellent. However, the last three visits have been sub par. Not only is the food quality lacking, but the service is as well. We are not picky people by any means, but being seated at a dirty table, is not too appetizing. We had to wipe our table down. Once the food came, I dont know if the waitress was in a hurry, but she slammed my plate down and part of my meal fell onto the table, she apologized, but that's it. Didn't bother wiping down the mess she made, nor did she bring me back a new order. Aside from that, she only came to check on us once. From the times we've been here, we seem to get better service from the younger staff. i guess there's a few chuck wagons in miami, but i've only ever been to the kendall one. the decor is god awful... wagons everywhere, a condiment mural on one wall (yes you heard me correctly), and they weirdly enough sell sports memorabilia! the food isn't much better. it's greasy. it's sits in your stomach long after you've finished eating. if you're gonna eat here, i highly suggest sticking to breakfast. they've got some interesting stuff too... chili omelets, kentucky ham, corned beef hash, etc. i gave it 2 stars because it is an experience you won't find many other places in miami. i half expect to see horses tied up outside when i leave. read more

This place reeks. Go to the other location, it's amazing. The service here was slow and bad. No one knew what was going on, two different waitresses tried to take my order. My home fries were badly burnt and I could taste all of the old grease and meats from the grill it was scraped off of, I don't even wanna think about what it's like in that kitchen. Then I order my drinks and this lady can't even bring me water to go with my meal, it's standard okay? It's definitely not a five-star place but it's the only place around here you can get some kind of mom and pop american breakfast. It's not as greasy or run-down as ihop or denny's so let's start there. The food is good homecooked food, not spectacular but good. It is very inexpensive and there is lots of seating. The waiting staff is always nice but the rest of the staff (younger kids at the cashier) are usually disengaged and are literally just there. The decor is weird and old, reminds me of the type of place you'd see on Restaurant Impossible. If you go just for cheap good american breakfast with no high expectations you'll be fine. This place is not for Latinos, they don't seem to understand Americana. I've watched them come in here and literally stand at the door with a dumbfounded look on their face in bewilderment as if they just entered the twilight zone. Some take a quick look at the menu and then exit quickly as if their ass was on fire. I suppose they've never visited a "western" style restaurant before and only walk into the Chuck Wagon over curiosity. This must be a real culture shock for cubans. I recommend don't get your dander up if you're offended by the ways of the Old West, just keep on truckin'. Horrible service!! We always go to the Chuck Wagon on 117th and we love that place. We wanted to try out this location since it was a bit closer, but what a horrible experience. The food wasn't good, the biscuits were over cooked, the egg Benedict sauce was super sour and the service was terrible. We asked multiple times for napkins, utensils, etc and never got them. We couldn't even get the check because the waiter never came. We waited 20 minutes to try to find the waiter. I had to get up and ask for the items again and the check. When the customer has to be the one to get items, you know they aren't doing their tasks. Not to mention their were multiple girls in the front just talking the entire time when they could have checked on customers. The 117th location is ALWAYS packed and they still give you great service. Definitely driving the extra miles. read more

Stopped by for breakfast with the hubby and must say that I was not impressed. We used to like this place, but not so much after this experience. Both of us ordered omelettes and they were overcooked. The home fries/potatoes tasted like they were cooked in old grease. The bathroom was dingy and dirty. :-( This place left nothing to be desired. And to top it off, they nickel and dime you for every little thing. The bill ended up being $30 for a not so great breakfast. The menu said they serve large Texas toast-like bread , and that was not what I got. I love french toast and I was disappointed when I ate them. The eggs are good. We wanted a traditional American breakfast, so we tried this place. The cowboy theme throughout the place is very inviting. The staff is attentive and its clean. However the meal itself was not what I expect from a proclaimed, traditional American restaurant. I ordered a hashbrown omelette. It was not enough hash and the hash was not properly cooked before it was mixed in the omelette. Sadly, the biscuits appear and taste like pre-packaged, store bought biscuits. The home fries were served cold. My husband had the pecan pancakes. The mix was over stirred, thus the pancakes had a rubbery texture. The pecans were simply sprinkled over the pancakes, instead of in the mix. Sorry, but for that I could have brought my own crushed pecans and saved some money. The syrup was Aunt Jemima...really? Quite a few emotions come to mind when I think of Chuck Wagon - HAPPY, SAD, MAD and GLAD. I am usually very HAPPY with my meals at Chuck Wagon. I've only been here for breakfast - never lunch or dinner. This place reminds me of all the divey diners I used to frequent when I lived in New Jersey (Exit 12). This place isn't the cleanest or fanciest, but the breakfasts are always served up piping hot and taste great. I'm SAD that CW is in Kendall. I live on Miami Beach so stopping in here is a rare treat (usually while hungover after visiting my friends in Kendall). I'm MAD that I feel the need to eat everything on my plate and look like a gigantic hog in the process. I'm GLAD that CW is in Kendall, because I'd probably be here stuffing my face with their biscuits and gravy every weekend. If you want a bottomless mimosa, foo foo brunch, I would stick to South Beach or Las Olas. This is down home, sloppy country cooking at its finest. The decor is the stuff of Martha Stewart's nightmare so don't pay attention to the walls, the floors or the bathrooms. But, if you want to sop up the booze in your belly from the night before with a ginormous plate of grease and grub, I recommend a stop at Chuck Wagon. read more
