We came in for dinner for Mother's Day- was happy we were able to get a table as they were definitely full! The positives: the staff was lovely! The server, food runner, hostesses- our table was ready right on time which is always a pleasant surprise when you're coming in on a busy weekend! We weren't rushed or reminded of any seating times etc. Simply allowed to enjoy ourselves! In terms of food positives: The cinnamon bun is DEFINITELY the highlight of dinner! The cheesecake was also very good as well as the cauliflower (although there was definitely more breading then cauliflower). The shrimp skewers were also well cooked! Now in terms of the other items, as a big table we got plenty of apps including the tuna tartar and spinach dip- tar tar was mediocre, spinach dip was definitely a let down sadly. Mains- I got the cod which I found maybe a little overcooked- the accompanying sides with the fish were tasty but the fish was just hard to get down. My partner had the salmon and enjoyed it. Our table also had a few steaks, ribs and the shrimp skewers- everything was good but nothing to write home about. Would I go back? Last month, I received a digital coupon for $15 off my next meal over $40 at Bâton Rouge. I had the choice of visiting either the Richmond Hill or Woodbridge location. I decided to try the latter. Frankly, I hadn't visited either. Prior to this visit, the only Bâton Rouge location that I have visited is the one in Dorion-Vaudreuil. It's smack in the middle of a bunch of box stores. I would stop by before and after visiting Montreal. I loved it. I hope that it's still there. I came here on a Saturday afternoon. It was straightforward to find. It was a hot day. There was shaded parking in front of the eatery. I backed into a spot and walked in. I was greeted by a young woman. I stated that I was dining by myself. For some reason, she made settings for two people. My server was extremely attentive and nice. She removed the extra place setting. I let her know that I had a coupon. She nodded. Prices at Bâton Rouge have gone up since I last dined at one. The best bang for your buck is the prix fixe menu. You pick a main entrée. It comes with soup or salad, and the dessert of the day. I got the top sirloin with lobster tail. I chose tomato rice soup. I got truffle fries for an extra $3 as my side. The dessert of this Saturday was New York-style cheesecake with raspberry sauce. I started off with a Diet Pepsi with a lime wedge. It was icy cold and yummy. The lime was a nice touch. I got a refill a bit later. My server was excellent. My tomato rice soup came out next. I got oyster crackers with it. This soup was delicious. It was comforting and the perfect starter, especially with the oyster crackers in it. My main came out. It looked as yummy as it tasted. I don't remember the last time I had steak and lobster at a restaurant. It was likely before the pandemic. This combo was awesome! I got my sirloin medium-well. It was exactly how I liked it. It was a bit pink inside, but tender enough to cut through it with a steak knife. It was yummy and seasoned nicely. The lobster tail was awesome. It was juicy and enjoyable to eat. The clarified butter was so good. I dunked everything in it. I would wear clarified butter if it were a perfume. The truffle fries were good. I felt that the cheese on top wasn't necessary. All it needed were the fries and the truffle oil. The cheese drowned out everything, so I moved some of it off to the side. The fries and truffle oil were yummy together once the cheese got a backseat. I also dunked my fries into the clarified butter. My dessert came after I was done with my main. I love New York-style cheesecake. This one was creamy and dense. Sometimes, you don't want a heavy graham cracker crust. Sometimes, you want more raspberry sauce. This cheesecake satisfied my dessert craving. It was divine. Another server came over to help me settle my bill. My original server was on a break -- a much deserved one. I showed her my coupon. It was an interactive artificial intelligence-based coupon. It asked me a bunch of questions, such as how much my bill was before taxes, my table number, restaurant location, and more. I was glad to hand it over to my server to fill out Why can't it be simple? My second server needed help applying this discount to my bill, so I got to meet the manager. He asked me how everything was as he was working on my bill. He was nice and got my discount applied. It took quite the effort to apply my coupon. I was glad when it was all done. I paid with a credit card. All was great! I used the washroom before I left. It was clean and spacious. I got to say goodbye to my original server before I headed out the door. I thanked her for everything and wished her a great day. I had a wonderful meal. I wouldn't come here regularly because it'll break your bank. I came here for a work function. I ordered the prix fixe menu, which includes appetizer, entree, and dessert. I ordered the BBQ pork back ribs with lobster tail for $68. The lobster tail was very big and juicy. The ribs were kind of disappointing the meat was dry inside and basically got bbq sauce brushed on top. Perhaps a side of bbq sauce should be provided. The garlic mashed potato was creamy and very good. The appetizers we ordered were pretty good as well. We ordered calamari, tempura shrimp, cauliflower wings, and beef tartare. The service was friendly and attentive. The only downside is that the server added 2 extra Creme Brule on our bill. We ended up just getting the additional desserts to avoid the hassle. My friends and I attended an event nearby and luckily this restaurant was in the same plaza. We came during late afternoon and so it was still sunny outside. We sat in one of the booths and I appreciated the ambiance as it was still sunny. I got the burger with fries and it was yummy. Good sized burger and good amount of fries. This restaurant has been in the neighbourhood for decades. I actually have been here before, many moons ago. This occasion was to get out to eat at a restaurant for the first time since COVID hit, and to celebrate hubby's birthday. I was able to make a reservation over the phone very easily. Parking is ample and there are 2 entrances, one off Rowntree Dairy Road and the other off Winges Road. When we lined up and checked in at the desk set up outside, I was asked to place my phone on the scan code sticker on it to get the full menu. I much prefer a hard copy menu, which wasn't available due to COVID, but they had a scaled down menu on paper. I opted for that. We were taken around to the side patio, which I liked better than the front one facing the parking lot. There was no umbrella for the table we were seated at, but it had just reached full shade for this time of day, so it was okay. The table was a bit wobbly on the slightly uneven floor surface. There supposedly is Wi-Fi available, and I followed the instructions to provide an e-mail to register, but kept getting stalled and never connected. The server was prompt in coming over to start us off. We weren't ready for anything but water at first, but then hub decided he'd try the Rose Sangria, and I liked that when the drinks arrived, she included a water for him as well as the Sangria. My daughter later opted for a Strawberry Daiquiri which she enjoyed. We ordered a Spinach Dip appetizer to share. The chips were a nice shape, half moons and ribbons, for dipping, and lighter, thinner and crispier than nacho chips, which I liked. The dip was very salty, though, and there was a blob of cheese which hadn't quite gotten mixed in with the rest of the dip. For mains, I had the Lobster Ravioli, hub had the Chicken Tenders Platter, and my daughter went with the Seafood Linguine. The portions for all 3 were good. The pastas did not come with any side salad or bread. The ravioli, like the spinach dip, was too salty. The linguine, on the other had, was too sugary. Hub found the batter on the chicken tenders a bit thick. When I tried it, it reminded me of the coating on chicken balls from Chinese restaurants - soft and floury, not crispy, except that it had pepper for flavour. His platter did come with sides, and he chose fries and cole slaw. The slaw had so much mayo in it, it looked like potato salad. He enjoyed the fries best of the 3 items. I liked that the service philosophy here is that more than one person comes to make rounds on the floor, at all tables, and you don't get "I'll send your server" if you need anything during your meal. They'll provide takeaway containers for any leftovers if you wish, which you pack yourself. The server was prompt in providing the bill, and presented it with a pleasant "Take your time" so that you're free to go, when you're ready. I wanted to be able to give a 4 with the good job on the setup, ambience and service but, I expected better food for a steakhouse restaurant. It really wasn't any better than a casual roadhouse/pub style restaurant in a lower price range, and the food was, as my daughter puts it quite well, "lacklustre." The excessive salt, sugar and mayo in the dishes does not let the real flavours of the ingredients come though - it's palpable, not palatable. I have been to this exact location twice and I love it! The food was delicious and well presented. The servers were great and always checked on us. The wait times is like than 15 mins, perhaps the weekend might be longer wait times. But I usually go on the weekdays. I celebrated my birthday there this year and I was very happy with my experience. I do find it expensive, but it's worth spending my money on. Parking is never a problem. Beware and look at your receipt. They include an automatic tip of 18% if you have 5 or more people at the table. My bill was $560 and the tip was $100. So now we get overcharged at restaurants for less food and get hit with these enormous steep tips. Why are we letting this happen? I want the choice of how much I tip and not get it shoved in my face. Beware. Also, the menu states a 16 ounce rib stake but you only get 12 ounce. I was told the 16 ounce is a top up, cost extra. Celebrated my birthday by having dinner at Baton Rouge!! Got the Lobster Tail & Classic Top Sirloin w/ 2 sides. It's a bit expensive ($49), but super delicious. It also comes with an entree (soup or salad) and a dessert! The sirloin was cooked to perfection, and the lobster was amazing. Honestly, not much to say/rant about haha. The atmosphere here is pleasant. Servers are super friendly. I think the only thing I have to talk about is the price. The places are definitely a bit more expensive than your average dinner place. This is my first time going to any of the Baton Rouge franchises. I had gone with my coworkers for a holiday lunch, party of 15-20 people. I ordered the Goat Cheese Top Sirloin 8 oz. Steak - Crumbled goat cheese, Herbes de Provence, chopped walnut - medium rare. When we all ordered, the waiters seldomly came to checked up on us even with refilling with water. Although the servers were nice, the frequency of flagging someone down was harder as they were not around our area for the most part. The steak was done well but I wouldn't say it was the best steak I've ever had, and I am no expert on steak. The veggies that came with the dishes were overcooked and really bland for taste. I came in full and left hungry. I don't quite understand how that works. I stopped in with family for a dinner. We have always been big fans of the ribs but since I still felt full from a big lunch, I went with the Steakhouse Wedge Salad. The salad was a half head of lettuce with way too little blue cheese dressing and bacon topping. The 8 ounce steak was also quite tough. By the time I was finished, I was eyeing everyone else's ribs, and regretting my choice. I was also considering ordering another dish. Anyway, a good dessert will overcome a disappointing meal. Chain/franchise restaurants - I automatically expect each one to live up to their name as much as their name has a good or bad reputation. Baton Rouge has always been a place with decent food and a good atmosphere. The first one I ever went to was in Boucherville, QC years ago. Since then they've been in Toronto for quite some time and even though I don't go too often to this place it is a nice treat when I do. Of course when I come here I'm usually getting a steak since it's on that level or they try to be on that level with the most comparable restaurant (the Keg) and they come close but I have to still give it to the Keg over both Baton Rouge because of the level of service. My last visit to Baton Rouge while it was a group of over 20 I still felt like I had to chase down servers to get drinks. At one point I had to stand up and flag one of them. I couldn't really move from where I was sitting because I was up against a wall and we were cramped and it would have been hard to do so. Besides the level of service not being up to the same standards as the Keg, I can say the food while good, just doesn't have the same flare to it. It's hard to describe... little things like the salads at the Keg are served cold... not frozen but cold. To me it seems like the servers are just more experienced at the Keg. I keep comparing BR to the Keg I know but it's because they are so alike. I had ordered the rib steak and it was very good. They don't ask you to cut into it and say whether or not it was cooked to my satisfaction and it's just those little things that separate BR from something that could be considered a different level of service. To reiterate, I shouldn't have to ask for drinks... it should be the other way around. Besides that the quality of Baton Rouge overall is decent and the service I would think is a more based on how each place is managed. This one in Woodbridge could use a little refining IMO. read more

We also had the spinach dip as an app, but I don't have a picture for it. However it was delicious! My mom and sister absolutely loved their entrees and said they would order it again. In fact, they both asked for the lemon ginger dressing and we took some with us to go. As for my steak frites... It was an underwhelming piece of steak. It barely had any taste and I kept dipping it in the gravy sauce that came along with it and in the chipotle mayo. That is why I gave this review only 4 stars. A reservation was made for 7:00pm and when we arrived at the restaurant, the line-up was huge. We went to the hostess station, advised them that we were there and in less than 5 minutes we were seated. FANTASTIC ! We started with the artichoke dip.....still great and very, very good. 3 people ordered the ribs, I ordered the Louisiana Chicken (which had grilled veggies, jus, and goat cheese). Appetizer was out in within a reasonable time frame....warm nachos with their signature artichoke/cheese dip. If you've never had it you don't know what you're missing. It comes with sour cream and salsa on the side. Our meals came out a few minutes after we devoured the dip..... The three ppl who ordered the ribs said they were fantastic, although one of the plates came out with no fries (which were ordered). This was quickly corrected when pointed out to the runner (the person who brought the food out). She returned within a minute with fries on a separate plate. My chicken was perfect....seasoned nicely with an ample amount of veggies and goat cheese. Portion size has shrunk, but this is a more reasonable size (as it was next to impossible to finish the previous portion size). Only two slight complaints....1) they've changed their baked beans and I prefer the older style better (it had a much robust flavour), and 2) there was barely any seasoning salt on the fries (which everyone at the table who ordered fries noticed). With most of their menu being steak and lobster oriented. The starter Cesar was good, nothing spectacular but still good. I had mushroom caps filled with lobster and cheese as a appetizer, which again were good, but nothing spectacular. I do wish however that I did try the lobster poutine, as that did sound like something uniquely Canadian. My main dish was lobster tail and steak which was cooked beautifully, with the steak just melting in your mouth. The dessert that came with my meal was okay, being a rich chocolate cake. However since it was my birthday, our host brought out this decadent chocolate mousse cake that was just wonderful and made my birthday dinner all that better. I stopped in here with a coworker for lunch. We both love Cajun food and we both had ravenous appetites, it looked good! First off, the service was way too slow for as dead as it was in there. The staff seemed to be more concerned with wandering around aimlessly and chatting than attending to any of the three tables where patrons were seated. Secondly, the Cajun thing is more of a theme here than an attempt at actually preparing Cajun food, the spices were oversalted, the meat was mostly overcooked, except the baked beans, which were mostly undercooked. There was also an embarrassing shortage of Cajun staples on the menu such as gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice, cornbread, anything containing gator etc. I didn't see anything on the menu mentioning a roux base, nothing containing andouille or boudin. I saw poutine, which every restaurant within a 250 km radius from there also served, and I saw Chinese food dishes as well (?). Thirdly, we paid what I consider to be higher prices than were justified by the location, ambience, and overall food quality. I have been to different locations of Baton Rouge. As usual the settings are the same in the restaurant. The waitress is very friendly. The rib is so large that I almost cannot finish it. It is tender and juicy. The restaurant has another set price menu that costs $35 that includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Not a bad price! We decided to go to the Vaughan location for my anniversary September 7th it aas a group of 9 of us 6 out of the 9 were very disappointed my son ordered ribs,they were dry and tasted like old ribs just warmed up i ordered a chicken club i wish i would of gone to Mcdonalds for a mcchicken trust me it would of not been burnt and dry my table spent just under $500 And it will be the last time i step foot in baton rouge Vaughan read more

Cajun fries were good and everything else was disappointing. This is what I expected anyways from a chain restaurant. The seafood, steak and Cajun food didn't cut it. When will they bring a bubba gump shrimp to Canada. read more
