Outdated, Uncomfortable, Dirty. Bed looked like this when we checked in.

Old, shabby "resort". Booked an "executive king suite w/ a river view" and got a rock-hard bed with a couch. Smells funky, too. Rude, unwelcoming staff. Just awful!

We stayed at Chula Vista for 2 nights and had a very good experience. From the moment we checked in, the staff at the front desk was terrific. Wealth of knowledge, courteous, and professional. The rooms are very spacious. They need to be updated, but we still had everything we needed, including microwave and refrigerator. There is a huge store by the front desk with a coffee shop. The resort was decorated nicely for the season, and the service at the huge main bar was exceptional. Drinks were great. There were lots of people ordering food at the bar, which looked awesome, especially the pizza. We walked through the water park area just to see it, but we didn't swim. It wasn't super busy, but they definitely packed alot of attractions in a small area. We had arcade credits and spent a few hours on the arcade which was really fun! The property is huge and beautiful. I would return!

minutes ago on Google Paid for the all inclusive package 4th of July weekend 2025 and it has been full of disappointment. The staff is rude and are trying to give their friends free food and drinks rather than honor the all inclusive wrist bands. In line for a drink, the attendant kept trying to take the order of the people behind me and then told them they should've ordered from her she would've gave it to them for free. Then proceeded to charge us even though we had all inclusive wristbands and then brought us the wrong drinks. Don't come here . I took video and photos of everything

So storytime!! We went up to the dells at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells for the weekend. We checked take the kids to Waterpark , dinner etc get cleaned up to rest got o bed the kids are still up watching movies on the tablets well they wake us up close to midnight saying there are bugs all over the room in the kitchen and bathroom and came out once the lights went off. We get up to check it out and I wasnt sure what they were at first. So I decided to do a Google lens search of what it was and come to find that what it was German Cockroaches!!!! And they were everywhere. So I go to call front desk to find the phone isn't working in the room. So I had to call through my phone which brings me to some call center. FIRST the guy was like well were close to sold out and wanted to move us to a room that was like right next to the room ... um no there going to be there too guaranteed. Im like no I want away put of this building somewhere else. Supposedly they didnt have one in the other buildings so they offered on the other end for the night a floor above but was a down graded room. By this time its almost 1am fine do it the kids need to get to bed were ticked and exhausted. We extra checked the room which it was clean nothing thankfully. We're told to come talk to the hotel manager in the morning. We go in the morning im crabby because honestly who could sleep after being in the 1st room with bugs in it gross!! We go down and low and behold manager isn't there yet. The supervisor who give us am upgrade in a different building in a condo which was nice. We said we wanted our money back for the night before because of all the Inconvenience we've had to go through. And was told because we purchased the all inclusive package that she wasnt able to refund anything and that we would have to wait to speak to the manager and he would be on at 3pm so again we had to wait to come back to speak to him fine we wil do that another inconvenience having to keep going back. Finally get to the time to speak to him go to front desk and explain again to some one there who basically brushed us off like they didnt care. Like well why hasn't anyone else complained?? And that theres no way they could be in another room. I call bs. But we get to finally speak to the manager who tells us yah I know about it so we tell him we want some compensation for this due to all the inconvenience just Friday night because we were okay with everything were we are now. And he goes well we gave you a room upgrade and all like we had to move your lucky were still here and not demanding a full refund! He first tries to offer 50% a future stay umm no thats not going to cut it. Then offers a $150 gift card. Fine we'll take it but told him we are calling the health department. He was so rude to us and indont get because we had an all inclusive package why we couldnt get comped for our troubles?!?! So public service warning dont stay here or if you do go do not stay in any of the gold Villa buildings unless you want to deal with roaches!! I am going to post this everywhere too. In comments I will post the picture of just a few of what we found in the room!! Ughh disgusting gross !! If anyone knows anyone going there please inform them about this and share with eveyone!!! This was the coffee pot - left dirty with this

Booked through Vacasa August 2025. Room 2645. Outdated. Room wasn't clean- but they charge a cleaning fee added to your reservation. Water park was Waaay too expensive for what you get. Beware of weekdays- a lot is not available. Go to a better water park. We had Room 2645. needs painting, a good deep clean, just very lazy cleaning- a lot of obvious things completely overlooked- a lot of dust and things need replacing. Type of place makes you want to reconsider a hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.

This is my third visit to CV, the last being in 2016. Oh how things have changed. This used to be a jewel, and years of neglect and deferred maintenance have caught up with Chula Vista. We are staying here for several days during our summer vacation, and it feels like nothing works properly. Given the prices, one feels cheated for the value delivered. Before I say ways wrong, let me just say that the people have been mostly fantastic - doing what they can with the place falling apart around them. The restaurant's lights flicker like something out of the Shining. If you look you'll find holes in the walls, missing fixtures, ceiling panels that were just never replaced and drawers that have been ripped from their rails. The fountains are an eye sore and there are half completed improvements at every corner. We had to walk across the complex to get ice because the machine in our building was broken. I gave it two stars because the value just in any there. Pay the same price and go to Grey Wolf lodge, that doesn't have years of inattention.

Chairs missing leather. Felt material filthy this is what was in the room to sit on

Rooms old outdated and dirty. Staff not available, bedding stained with blood. Couldn't get fresh towels, our request when unanswerable.

It is rented as either a two bedroom (either end of the cottage), three bedroom (an end and the center one bedroom), five bedroom (the entire cottage). It is a timeshare. It can be rented out. I noticed on the website right away that sundara had construction going on. So when I called to reserve I asked right away exactly How the construction would affect our stay. They assured me that where we were going to be staying they wouldn't be working and that all the work was being done on the way opposite side of the resort. So I went Ahead and gladly paid $577 for my over night stay and couples massage. The room was awsome and the massages were great! But then to get woken up at 7:30am with loud banging literally right next door was frustrating. I think it's great your trying to imprOve and expand but then be honest with me and I would have waited to spend my $577 when the construction was over. My friend works construction everyday and took today (Monday) off of work to get away and relax with me and we dealt with it the whole time. Also I think it's pretty unsanitary to have the breakfast food literally NEXT to rooms that are being worked on. I could see dust coming from a room very close to wear all the fruit and other food was laying out.

I'm here on a week day and there's plenty of room and free space to roam around. There is a sweet trail and tether ball court as well. They just put in a new playground too for the kids. We were in search of a place where we could rent the entire property for our wedding and wanted a place where we could offer all of the ages of the family something to do at any given moment. My best friend and I called this place on a roadtrip because we found it on google and thought it was worth a shot and Chris the owner answered and was so kind and thoughtful that we detoured and stopped to meet him there in the middle of winter. We chose this place because of him and the fabulous, well kept property. We talked with Chris and his wife several times prior to our August wedding and they were patient with our planning process and able to accommodate all of our requests. We cannot thank them enough for the use of the clubhouse and pool! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service that made our stay truly unforgettable.  Chris and his wife Angie, the staff and property were more than we could have dreamed up! The property itself is absolutely stunning, nestled in a picturesque setting that offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere of the Wisconsin River. It was the perfect site for our wedding and family gathering, providing a beautiful backdrop for our special day and ample space for all our guests to relax and enjoy.  The owners went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was taken care of, making the entire experience seamless and stress-free. We couldn't decide out of the two experience which one to do so we did a double feature. We come into the building on the 4th of July and there is an information desk because the place is loaded with other things to do at the resort. We get to the Take Flight and wait in line until it's time for us to go in. It was a bit of a wait because a group before us had just gone in. We did the Space Flight first. WOW is all I can say! I don't want to give it away but I would recommend the experience. It's full of surprises. We really enjoyed Space Flight. Then we unfortunately had to stand in line again for Wonders of the American West. That wait was even longer. We enjoyed that experience too. We got our pictures taken by a photographer for both experiences and we took advantage of their picture offerings after we were done to remember the experience. The one thing that needs improvement is that you have to be weighed before getting access to the line (which is fine). You have to be less than 325 pounds. There is a red light/green bright circular light on a tall pole right above the scale for everyone to see. It's embarrassing if you step on and it turns red for no entry. That should be moved so only the attendant can see. No one should have anxiety about people seeing if you get a green light or red light. Next we were hungry so we stopped at the Camp Social Burger Bar. Many were hanging out at the bar and the food looked pretty good so we decided to get the Burger BBQ which is an angus beef patty with cheese, bacon and onion strings with bbq sauce. It came with homemade potato chips. Hubby got a pina colada mocktail and they decorated it so pretty with the 4th of July colors and decorations. I must say the burger, chips and the drink were divine. We sat in the seating they have and just chilled which was nice. They have so many other eating places and a candy shop. We really enjoyed our experience there and highly recommend. Thank you Wilderness at the Resort. A+ in our books!

We stayed in a single king room and were pleasantly surprised with how much space we had, it didn't feel cramped even with all the toddler gear. Both the hotel and the waterpark were consistently clean throughout our stay. For a high traffic family resort this was impressive and much appreciated. The wave pool and dedicated toddler area were a huge hit. Our little dude had a blast and it was great to have a safe, age appropriate space for him to explore. The lodge is due for some updates, specifically the waterpark equipment - the water jet skis in the toddler area were all broken and material was visibly chipping. While my toddler didn't notice the cosmetic wear, as a parent it is a little worrisome. I'd say visiting in the winter was the perfect way to beat the cold, though it did limit us to indoor sections. We're definitely curious to return when it's warmer to see how the outdoor area fairs. Overall a great choice for families with toddlers, but hopefully, management will invest in some much needed repairs to the play features soon!
