Walked in in a Saturday night at 6pm and were seated right away. There was only one other table and couple of take out orders while we were there. The exterior is a bit sketchy as many of the shops near by are closed down , but the interior is pretty large and has a bunch of nice booths. Skip the hot and sour soup. It was bland. Highly recommend the orange chicken and also the eggplant dish. This place deep fries their eggplant before tossing it in a sauce. This gave it an amazing texture. New tradition for NYE has been established! We had the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, eggplant with tofu, vegetable chow mien, vegetable fried rice, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. Everything was so good! Only disappointment was that they couldn't not accommodate my son's egg allergy with the side of fried rice that comes with the entree - so we had to order a full order (vegetable fried rice without egg) for him to be able to eat rice. Comes with egg flower or hot and sour soup with an egg roil served with white or fried rice. We ordered mushroom chicken and Mongolian beef. Both dishes were tasty. The Mongolian beef was done right, with sliced yellow onion and green onion! A bit skimpy on the green onion but the taste was just right. The mushrooms chicken was also great with plenty of chopped garlic and the chicken breast pieces were tender. Service was quick and the records are just your ordinary place to dine. This was my first time here, and I had a great experience. The interior was nice, the customer service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. Be sure to ask for the homemade chili oil, it's definitely worth it. Was craving Chinese food and saw this place. We called in and ordered for take out during lunch time. The place had one occupied table when we arrived and it's look just like a typical Asian restaurant with plenty booths and tables. We got orange chicken, fish with black bean sauce and shrimp fried rice. The lunch special set comes with your choice of white rice, brown or egg fried rice and a fried egg roll. All the dishes tasted very good, the orange chicken was tender and had plenty of sauce. The black bean fish had a perfect amount of sauce, not too salty! The portion they give was way more than enough for one person especially the shrimp fried rice... the container was full to the rim! It was good, it was like an old-school Chinese restaurant. I have to say, though it was quite dirty. I did not notice a letter on the door so I can't tell you how clean it was by the critics. I came with a couple of girlfriends to the Red Lantern for dinner, there is both a serve-it-yourself bar in another room behind the entrance room for their unlimited soup and condiments, and there is a nice wait staff that serves you whatever dishes that you have ordered from the menu. There is plenty of parking in a public lot behind the restaurant. The food tastes great, the price is reasonable, and there is space to bring a group of friends located in a second room behind the first entrance space. Love this locals place. I woild catagorize this as old-school Chinese American with all the classics: Chow Mein, MuShu Pork, yummy appetizers, and glory-be- Real Hot Mustard! 8/22/25 We had a to go order that totaled about $103.00. We ordered several items as everybody wanted something different. My portion was Pork fried rice and shrimp with lobster sauce. These 2 items were very bad. Surprised as I typically think of this restaurant as pretty good. The pork fried rice had no flavor at all as if the soy sauce and other ingredients were missing and instead of small thinly sliced pork there was large pork pieces that were slimy. The shrimp with lobster sauce was like water and no consistency and the shrimp was precooked and simply bad. My other family members didn't really complain much but I don't know what happend to this place, but I won't be going back. read more

Red Lantern is a gem in Glendora! Solid Cantonese/Chinese food here. We celebrated a birthday here and loved their: * fish fillet in black bean sauce * sautéed string beans * tofu veggies * salt & pepper pork chop Was not a huge fan of the orange chicken so won't get it again next time, but otherwise the food here is solid. I had a lunch special here today and the fried rice tasted old as some of the grains of rice were hard. The fried rice also doesn't have any vegetables let alone meat. The entree had a good sauce but was 90% onions and green peppers, 7% unidentifiable stuff, and 3% meat. I come here with my parents sometimes for family events. It is one of the few Chinese restaurants in Glendora and some things are pretty good! The best thing on the menu is mushu beef in my opinion. Every $20 you spend dine in, you also receive complimentary appetizers for your visit; this appears to be a promotion thru 2024. Wanted to give a new Chinese place a try, so we doordashed an order from here the other night and it was pretty standard. I did like that they include rice with all of the entrees, and you had to option to get a side of simple fried rice for an extra buck or two. We ordered veggie egg rolls as an appetizer, and for entrees we had orange chicken, salt & pepper porkchops, and a side of the fried rice with each. The veggie eggrolls were your standard, and did the trick. The orange chicken was ok, I felt like it could've used some more sauce/flavor. We really enjoyed the salt & pepper pork chops. They were crispy and had a good flavor to them. We also thought the fried rice was good. Just note that the fried rice is just seasoned rice with egg, but the flavor was good! If you want fried rice with meat and veggies, you need to order that separately. All in all, the food was good and I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again, but nothing wowed me. read more
