Amazing staff held our birthday cake and were kind enough to chill some champagne for us.
    Brian M.

Years ago we would come here and it was always decent. Shortly after COVID, something about the food changed and unfortunately we just weren't fans of the changes to the menu. Recently, I have to say we came back and we are so glad we did. There must be a new cook or something because we have yet to have a bad meal. Combination chow mein is the star for our family. Combo fried rice is also a staple for us. I would 100% reccomend the garlic chicken and the Mongolian beef. Sweet and sour pork and sweet and sour chicken is phenomenal. But enough about the food. The staff. Everyone who has served us has been such a joy. 2 nights ago we had a birthday party for my sister and they were so accommodating for our large group. If you have not been to Red Lantern recently you haven't been to Red Lantern.

We are in town visiting Azusa Pacific University, after a walk around campus we found Red Lantern Chinese Cuisine and decided to celebrate the possibility of moving to APU (plus an early celebration since tomorrow is my birthday) The restaurant is small, but large enough for plenty seating in a confortable setting. The staff: Very friendly and welcoming; everyone was kind and respectful. The food: Very tasty, fresh, plentiful. (We are staying at a near by hotel so we only order 2?items plus a soup because we didn't want to waste food by not having a place to store the leftovers) But, if things go as we hope at APU, this restaurant will become a place we plan to visit often once the transition is decided to move to APU.

Came here for a classic comfort meal--orange chicken, fried rice, and veggie egg rolls. It's not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst either. The food was flavorful and satisfying, nothing mind-blowing but solid for the area. The place seemed busy with locals, which is always a good sign. Portions were generous, the orange chicken had that familiar sweet-savory crunch, and the fried rice hit the spot. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood go-to if you're nearby--reliable, casual, and easy--but not something I'd go out of my way to come back for.

A friend wanted to try this place out and it's closer to home so we went. They have variety of lunch specials until 3pm. Comes with egg flower or hot and sour soup with an egg roil served with white or fried rice. We ordered mushroom chicken and Mongolian beef. Both dishes were tasty. The Mongolian beef was done right, with sliced yellow onion and green onion! A bit skimpy on the green onion but the taste was just right. The mushrooms chicken was also great with plenty of chopped garlic and the chicken breast pieces were tender. Service was quick and the records are just your ordinary place to dine. Got my fix in.

Was craving Chinese food and saw this place. We called in and ordered for take out during lunch time. The place had one occupied table when we arrived and it's look just like a typical Asian restaurant with plenty booths and tables. We got orange chicken, fish with black bean sauce and shrimp fried rice. The lunch special set comes with your choice of white rice, brown or egg fried rice and a fried egg roll. All the dishes tasted very good, the orange chicken was tender and had plenty of sauce. The black bean fish had a perfect amount of sauce, not too salty! The portion they give was way more than enough for one person especially the shrimp fried rice... the container was full to the rim! I would recommend this place for anyone craving Chinese food!

This was my first time here, and I had a great experience. The interior was nice, the customer service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. Be sure to ask for the homemade chili oil, it's definitely worth it. We ordered the salt and pepper fish, which was delicious and perfectly crispy, and the combination fried rice, which came in generous portions and tasted great. I'll definitely be coming back!

I came with a couple of girlfriends to the Red Lantern for dinner, there is both a serve-it-yourself bar in another room behind the entrance room for their unlimited soup and condiments, and there is a nice wait staff that serves you whatever dishes that you have ordered from the menu. There is plenty of parking in a public lot behind the restaurant. The food tastes great, the price is reasonable, and there is space to bring a group of friends located in a second room behind the first entrance space. I liked the ultra manga-like decor on the wall. I would come here again and bring my family next time for a meal!

Best Chinese food EVER!!!! The staff were AMAZING and nice and came with our food hot and fresh. Had the dumplings and when I asked how they made the sauce he politely said "Family Secret " Super cute but the sauce is a MUST try it's truly delicious and obviously made with traditional Love It was a cold night and the restaurant was nice and cozy and felt like you were eating at home. Very nicely decorated and did I say the staff was AMAZING!!! Get your butts over to eat at this little family establishment it does NOT disappoint!!!!

    Aww yeah. Can't go wrong!

Love this locals place. I woild catagorize this as old-school Chinese American with all the classics: Chow Mein, MuShu Pork, yummy appetizers, and glory-be- Real Hot Mustard! So many places don't have that any more. Huge space with the requisite red-vinyl booths. Good for Take out too, but sometimes I like being there. Service is fast amd friendly. Good for big family get-togethers! Right off rhe 210, ample parking.

While this often signals unwelcome adjustment for patrons accustomed to the manner in which an established restaurant's dishes are prepared, changes in recipes and/or ingredients being used, or just a plain old difference in overall taste or presentation, I'm happy to observe that, as a customer for decades, this wonderful little gem of a restaurant has maintained the key characteristics - both in food quality and service - that made our family fans so long ago. There have been some recent additions to the menu, in both dish selection and beverage variety, which actually align the restaurant better with contemporary tastes and dining trends. Traditionalists need not fear, however, as the old menu standards still remain and are as good as ever. (In fact, I didn't realize there had actually been a change in ownership until I directly asked our server after not seeing some of the usual staff over the last couple of visits; otherwise, I wouldn't have known.) In terms of ambiance, new booths were recently added (and are more comfortable), but the overall decor remains basically the same. Similarly, the service continues to be on point with dishes prepared upon order and delivered quickly, drinks refilled/refreshed regularly, and vacated tables cleared and cleaned in a timely manner. In summation, the Chopsticks House is as good as ever - and with a recently expanded menu, too. Portions are extremely generous, and they do not skimp on the proteins or quality of ingredients. Additionally, the popular lunch specials remain and continue to be a great value for early afternoon diners.

The services here are very friendly and attentive. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you come in an hour before they close they will let you know that in advance. I think the intent is so you order fast and don't linger. Not a negative for me since my family usually is pretty quick about eating and going. They are also pretty good with customizing their ingredients. My wife is gluten free so we would ask that they not add in soy sauce or oyster sauce in some of the dishes that we know can still work without those two ingredients. You would need to know how to customize it yourself as I don't think they would know what to do if you simply say no gluten. Overall, I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. We walk in hungry and happy and we come out full and satisfied.

Super solid spot for a family dinner!…read more We ordered a massive spread from here and honestly, everything was really good. The kung pao chicken had a great savory flavor with just the right amount of kick and a good crunch from the peanuts, while the orange chicken had a really good, tangy sweet glaze to it. Just a heads-up if you like it super crunchy, their version is definitely on the softer, saucier side (which I prefer), but the flavor is spot on. The minced chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and super flavorful, and the egg drop soup was pure comfort in a bowl and came out piping hot. The absolute standout was definitely the deep fried fish fillet. The batter was super light and airy, and the fish inside was perfectly flaky and tender. We paired it all with the vegetable lo mein, which was loaded with veggies and the noodles weren't mushy at all, which is always a win. Portions are good, everything feels fresh, and it definitely hits the spot. We have been dining here for years and will continue to do so!
