We usually love this bar and grill and have been many times, but today they were a little off. We got the wrong appetizer and ordered an item to go that was prepared wrong. We wanted an over medium egg and got an over well egg. It ruined the dish. We didn't check the order because we had never had any issues before. I guess we will start double checking. read more

I placed an order for pickup for the following items: scotch egg, loaded pub fries, stake and ale pie, and sticky toffee pudding. My sister and I share the meal and we both agreed that the scotch egg was the best thing on the menu! There was a discrepancy with our order. I had ordered this through DoorDash and they mislabeled the loaded pub fries so I had to double back and pick up my corrected item. The fries on their own were well seasoned and really good. Loaded with the steak gravy, they were good, but obviously makes the fries super soggy so for me I would pass if I came here again. The steak and ale pie was also really good, but we both felt like it could've benefited from having puff pastry over the whole pie versus a single circular top covering a little less than half the pie. read more

This place is INCREDIBLE. We spoke with the new owner, and they are slowly updating the menu and with that comes fresher ingredients and very authentic English dishes. The atmosphere is moody and fun, with bar seating, high top tables, booth seating, and multiple TVs. Service was friendly and quick as well. Best fish and chips I've ever had, and we brought family and friends who thought the same thing! The batter is delicious and perfectly fried. Onion rings are also like no other! Great batter and perfectly fried. The sausage roll pastry dough was really good, I would need a sauce with them next time to add more flavor (menu did say they come with a sauce). If you are looking for a dessert at the end of your meal, the Sticky Toffee Pudding was recommended by the owner (made by his wife) and it was delicious with a the scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. What a charming place! We had a lot belt chat with Sarah who owns the pub with her husband. They are real Brits! We had the bangers and mash and the fish and chips, which was so big, it could have fed two. Topped it off with the sticky toffee pudding which was wonderful! Will definitely return. read more

Maybe I'm Just confused as to if this is supposed to be more of a bar or restaurant. The food came out fast and piping hot, but...the food was bland and nothing special. I ordered the cottage pie and it was literally a chopped hamburger with corn, peas, carrots and mashed potatoes on top with a bit of cheese. There was no gravy or seasoning in it. I guess I expected something a bit more flavorful, but it was piping hot which is good, just nothing to write home about. My husband had the fish and chips, it was fine, but nothing special either. The batter was rather plain without flavor. The coleslaw was odd, it looked great but tasted just like...raw cabbage, no sugar taste, and I couldn't taste the mayo when I tried it. My husband loves coleslaw and he was rather perplexed by how it could look so good yet have no taste. Idk, maybe we are just confused as to if this is supposed to be more "bar food" at a pub, or an actual restaurant. Maybe they are just so new they are still working out the kinks. All in all, we would come back to try something else, just skip the cottage pie for sure, unless you want something really bland. read more

This place is a vibe! We came on a somewhat busy time, and the service was quick, the staff was friendly, and our orders came out quick. We got: Pub fries - reminds us of beef stew over fries. Tasty dish, but could use just a little bit more of cheese and a little less carrot. Toffee pudding- actual pudding is really good, would get this again. Ice cream brand could be better. Not sure if the freezer is too cold, but it's not creamy and had little ice chips in it. Reuben - def wi get again. Love it! Bangers & mash- will skip next time. The sausage tastes like bratwurst from Aldi's (suggestion: there's a vendor at the farmer's market down the that makes better bangers. Test it, and if it works, you're supporting local too). The potatoes need more flavor, reminds me of Idahoan, and so does the gravy. The mixed veggies were overcooked. Some of the kernels got toasted and hard it's like plastic. Cocktails - fantastic! The espresso martini was nice, and the lemon whisky was refreshing. We'll definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and really good, authentic English food...better than most I've had in England in fact. I had the fish and chips. The fish was done perfectly. Batter was crunchy, not overdone; the fish was flaky and light and not oily or mushy, and the "chips" were golden to near perfection. Even the little side cole slaw was tasty with just a little hint of heat. I very much recommend. Sorry for no pictures. I was enjoying too much and forgot about taking any. read more

Not sure why this place has lower than 5 stars on here but this place is AMAZING. The food is fantastic!! The bacon Gouda dip is out of this world. The scotch eggs were soo flavorful and crispy on the outside. The fried mushrooms were delicious and tender. Last time we came we had the bangers and mash and that was excellent too. If you are looking for an English Pub experience, Churchill's is here! Opened recently in the town of Nolensville TN, Churchill's offers a lively and rich environment. Under the signage of the previous restaurant name Roos, Churchill's is just that new. You will be greeted with an outdoor seating area flanked by a red telephone booth. Walking in, there is a small waiting area to the right complete with a mantel and English decor. Lighting sets the ambiance of an aged neighborhood pub as well as the deep green color of the walls. Traditional pub dishes, desserts and drinks offer a taste of some really great options. We started off with a Gouda dip. Really rich and creamy. Entrees were the Lamb Shank and the obligatory Fish and Chips. Everything came out well prepared. Shank was tender and dropped of the bone. Fish was well battered and fried to perfection. Don't forget to ask for some malt vinegar! I do have to say seating is quite limited and the popularity of Churchill's can make for a wait. The staff were very friendly and apologized for the wait all while still taking care of their patrons. If you are coming from outside of town, just be ok with a wait. The wait is worth it! I'm hoping they are here for a very very long time. read more

My wife and I went here for the second time. The first time was right after they opened, and we thought it needed time to iron out the "new business" trials. We both ordered their fish & chips, thinking that a true English pub would have this down to a science. Sorry to say, as easy as it is to make excellent fish & chips, Churchill's failed to hit the mark. The fried potatoes were OK, but the fish was fried to death. The outer crust (and I mean crust) was dark brown and hard as a rock. While the fish was dried out and shrunken from being overcooked. Plus, for the price, one small piece of fish was not enough food. Now, usually, fish & chips eaters would be given malt vinegar with the meal. We had to request it. In short, I am not impressed. It's too bad because it would have been nice to have a real pub in Nolensville. read more

For a storefront in a strip mall they did a really good job of capturing the vibe of an English pub. The food was good and the Harp was perfect. The staff is good and the owner was friendly and concerned about our experience. The food came a little slow but not enough to be a problem. The sticky toffee was literally the best we ever had. Between the toffee and the owner's personality, an average experience became above average. Definitely recommend giving them a try. read more

Was so hoping to have found a nice new Pub to frequent, but so disappointing on so many levels. Food, was extremely bland and took forever. Ambiance was lacking, with streaming old sports on while top events could have been on the TVs. How can somewhere that looks so good on paper be the worst disappointment of all time? We drove 45 mins as we saw haddock and chips w/curry sauce, steak pie chips, magners and we were like omg let's go now. We arrived, beautiful little pub with cute decor, before we could sit down server asked what we wanted to drink, my dad within a second orders a Stella, 3 mins later we ordered another Stella and a cider. We asked about the fish, and we were informed no haddock, no magners and that curry sauce can only be made my the owner and she isn't in on. Friday's!! What?!! Their online menu is nothing like their in person menu. We received the check. One Stella was $10, the other was $5. I questioned it and she said that my dad ordered 2 mins before happy hour and that the system was automated. Are you kidding me? So we drank our beers and checked out. The owner and his wife are so sweet, and recently relocated from England. His grandfather and father were pub owners before him so their place is as authentic as it gets! They were delayed in coming here due to family issues but are now completely revamping their menu and running things themselves. Ugh I hate this but leaving an honest review in hopes these are just startup issues. I was really really excited about this place. The menu looks great, the inside is small but you can't change that, however more tables and better arrangement would prevent people from standing at the bar and waiting to be sat. My wife and I went last night and sat at the bar. Bartender was great, but really busy - maybe 30 people in the building and 10 of them were kids. First round was fast, second round was forgotten about and had to ask/remind after 15 minutes. We ordered fish n chips and scotch eggs appetizer. This is where things fell apart. Someone brings us the scotch eggs appetizer and doesn't say anything, we have no silverware or condiments nor were we asked. The scotch eggs, the egg was overdone, but the sausage was good which we were ok with. The mustard sauce was good, but 2 of the 6 eggs had raw sausage around the egg and so we decided not to eat those two. After I found silverware and ketchup, salt/pepper, vinegar our fish n chips arrived. The fish batter appears burnt, but the fries looked good. There wasn't a crispy piece of anything on that plate, you could bend the fish and fries in half without it breaking. It tasted burnt and microwaved. The coleslaw was unflavored and heavy on the mayonnaise. It wasn't good at all. I think if they don't improve the food quality (which was highly recommended by the bartender, that everything is AWESOME) this place will close in less than a year. I can get past long drink waits but for the price and service of the food. It was a fail. My advice, wait for them to get the kinks out. We're going to give them a shot in another 6 months and hope they've improved. The GM of this place is horrible, literally sat and stared and us with no drink and no service and did not move an inch. The second time we tried this placed we walked in at 7:45 on a FRIDAY night and was told there are a few people waiting, no list of sorts, oh and they will be on the late night menu at 8 pm. What??? 3rd attempt we get the fish and chips with ONE small filet and paid way too much for that dish. Since then, the GM accused a customer of being cut off instead of addressing the poor service and now the owner is on community social media forums calling people liars and wanting a face to face meeting when he finally crosses the pond the run his business. These nut jobs will not stay in business long. Terrible service and average at best food for the cost. Stay away. read more

We were hoping that this was going to be a great addition to Nolensville since there is not many places to eat here. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I am hoping that the owners are reading the reviews so that they can make some updates. When we came in, there were a few people at the bar and one table seated. We sat down at a table. We were there for a fews minutes and then the bartender brought over menus and said she would get out sever. There was only one other table that would have been waited on by the server so not sure where they were. The server came over and ask what we wanted. Not other greeting, just what do we want to order. We ordered our drinks. My husband order a beer, which was good. I order a gin and tonic, which was not good. There was something wrong with the tonic. I did let the bartender know and she did offer to make me another one, but I did not want to try again as we were wrapping up. I love gin and tonics and this was just not correct. It tasted as if soda was used instead of tonic. We order the fish and chips and the rueben. The rueben was pretty good. A little salty in spots, but overall nice portion of meat, good amount of sauce and sauerkraut with fresh rye bread. The fish an chips were not very good. It taste like something you made at home and the portion was small. The menu did state the amount, but we have eaten at almost every pub my husband can find and this was the smallest portion we have had. The fried were not that great either. Once we were finished, our server came over and ask if we were done. We said yes and he walked away without clearing our plates. He immediately came back with the checked and walked away again without clearing out plates. We paid the check and left. Unfortunately, until some changes are made, we will not be back. read more

Great little family pub! The fish and chips are very good and a good portion. There is bar seating, high table top and booth seating with several tvs. We met and spoke with the owners and they are so very nice! They only started this bar about 4 months ago and so far, so good! Chrchill's is a true hidden gem in the Nolensville suburb of Nashviile. I've driven by their building many times and it's a little tough to see their sign, but today I had the time to check it out. #1: Beautifully decorated duplicate of a traditional British pub....you feel like you're in London. #2 Amazing food...delicious! The owners, transplanted Brits Carl & Sarah with son Isahia, know the true carft of making delicious items on their menu, all from scratch! I had their #1 seller Fish & Chips and our waitress told me they buy WHOLE Idaho red potatos, cut them into strips, and deep fry them. The fish fillet I had was WONDERFUL, crispy on the outside and perfectly moist inside...and HUGE! My girlfriend had their Cottage Pie (aka Shepard's Pie) and said it was fantastic and so large, she could only finish about half of it (lucky me, I got to take the rest home). If you're in the southern Nashville area, have a hankering for some GREAT British food, ale or a cocktail, this is the place for you. Let me just start off by saying one of the patrons came up to my African-American friend and was like hey we have one of you guys standing in the corner, talking about the African-American soldier that they have in the corner not the place you should be visiting and definitely do better Nolensville do better. The food is not good. I've been to England. I know what food is supposed to taste like. I asked for an old-fashioned from two different barking. They made it different both times. Definitely don't know how to make a drink and then will you bring it up? They're like oh well that's how they're made.
