The concept is once you are ready to order you will go up and then the food would be brought to you. I loved this because my friend and I couldn't pick which dishes to try since there were so many choices. The chicken sandwich was so nice and juicy! The curry hash I was hesitant to get but was my friend and mine's favorite and the hotcakes were to die for! Everyone working there were super friendly and helpful to the point when my friend asked to purchase their lemonade in bulk they accommodated her even though they typically didn't do it. Amazing place and amazing food. I love that this place has no screens anywhere. It's a nice upscale and family-friendly place to relax and enjoy some amazing food. The staff is very kind and goes out of their way to help you have a top-level experience. We started with the Chi and loaded Brussel sprouts. Both were amazing. Like really really good Brussel sprouts. Then we had the cheese fondue and I moved on to the bottomless drip coffee. I really thought the potato stick was an inventive twist to dip into the fondue. I also had the hot beet soup with a recipe from the Ukrane. This was a hearty bowl full of rich flavors that I have never had before and I loved it. My main course was the half chicken but we also shared a smashed burger and the rice pilaf. I think I liked the cheese topping of the rice pilaf and the mushrooms and the potatoes that came with the chicken the most out of everything. The smash burger was also very good and not overcooked. This place would be 5-stars if it weren't for the 18% surcharge and the fact that you have to go up and order food for yourself. However the food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are amazing as well. The crispy chicken sandwich and the Churchill burger were so yummy. The fries are a bit over salted but still good. We tried every appetizer except the cauliflower and they were all great. This place is more on the expensive side so the fact that you don't get table service and have an automatic surcharge is kind of disappointing. But the food is not. read more

This place is amazing. I think it will be my new favorite spot to talk friends. The building is beautiful and it just gets better from there... service is attentive and friendly, food is incredible!! I got the sweet potato hash and it was bursting with flavor. The sausage, herbs and then a lemon hollandaise?! I mean come on! My husband got the breakfast sandwich (couldn't catch a picture before his first bite) and said it's the best he's had in the cities. This is the kind of place you feel a lot of care and intention put into every dish. It certainly is popular- I have been twice and there has been a 30 min wait for a table so thankfully I was able to eat at the bar, looking forward to getting a table though :) I think it has just been super popular in the first week since opening. I do not recommend dining at this restaurant. Firstly, the food is very average and not inexpensive. Next, they tack a (non-optional) 18% "service fee" to be spread "amongst the team". What does that mean and how is it spread out and to whom? I could live with the fee instead of a tip IF a) I didn't have to walk to the counter to order my own food and, b) I would get ANY type of table service beyond my food being brought out. No one comes to check on you after the food arrives. No one comes to give refills. No one comes to check on you for salt, pepper, quality of food etc. My eggs were not done and my only course of action is to carry my plate back to the counter and possibly wait in line AGAIN to have it fixed. Is all that worth 18% on top of already expensive prices? $12 for a bloody Mary?? Do not support this type of establishment. This is not why people to "out" to eat. If you eat here you support this type of thing and encourage it to become the "norm." read more

A place where you're greeted upon entry, seated and given menus, and then you get up and walk to their front counter to place your order and pay for it. If you order a coffee and baked item, you'll take it back to your table with you. If you order an item that must be prepared in the kitchen, it's brought out to your table when it's ready. Arriving on a recent blustery Friday morning, there were plenty of open tables and we were cheerfully greeted when we entered. We were seated and given menus. After considering our menu choices, we went up to the baked treats window & counter to see their offerings and to place our breakfast order. I got a "kouign-amann" (a sweet, croissant-like pastry) to go along with my coffee and an order of scrambled eggs, and my friend ordered their cinnamon-pecan roll to accompany her coffee and scrambled eggs. Their service counter area was clean and bright, and the baked items were nicely displayed. My friend was asked whether she wanted her cinnamon-pecan roll heated up a little. She did, and once we were each handed our respective plates of baked treats and cups of coffee, we then stopped at the self-service island to fill glasses with our choice of 'still' or 'sparkling' water from spigots. There were tall glass carafes available to fill with water and take back to your table. There were also insulated carafes of various "creamers" to add to coffee along with little porcelain pitchers to fill with your creamer of choice and take to your table. Packets of sugar, pairs of salt & pepper shakers, and bottles of hot sauce were also available to bring to your table. I prefer my coffee black, and found it rich and flavorful, with a bit of a 'tang' to it. Later, I tried some half & half in it and that was good, too. The coffee was a perfect accompaniment to my kouign-amann, a french pastry I'd never tried before. It was crispy and tender, with a sweet, caramelized light crunch on its bottom. My friend had a taste and said she liked it even more than her roll (which I had a taste of and enjoyed its cinnamon-y-pecan softness). A short while later, two plates of scrambled eggs arrived, steamy-hot. They were softly-cooked, and absolutely perfect in my opinion. I topped with a light sprinkle of salt & pepper and enjoyed them very much with my pastry and coffee. The music playing was at a low volume (excellent) so it was easy to have a conversation across the table from each other. The large windows and lighting made the place feel bright and cheery. People around us all seemed to be enjoying their time there together. I hope to visit this place again soon, for breakfast, or for any meal! read more

Had our birthday club dinner here! (Try new/diff restaurants each b-day) The ambiance?! Spectacular! It's cozy, not crowded on top of each other and really comfy. The menu? Something for everyone. I had the pasta, it got better as it cooled down. Sounds weird, but that's what happened! The cocktails? A lot to choose from! We tried the rhubarb martini! Fantastic! The service? Well... bad night? I thought maybe they had to go out and pick my tomatoes? Or make my pasta? It was a Loooooooonnnnnnnnggggg wait. Don't even get me started on the dessert. I'm glad I don't often have a lot of time for a sit-down lunch because I'm pretty sure I would spent both my calorie and financial budget here, day after day. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and focaccia to start, and it was a dang good start. The sprouts maintain their crisp while being insanely flavorful. That bacon! And the focaccia... the focaccia. I've tried to recreate it at home to no avail. It has amazing flavor. Perfectly salted. Chewy, oily crust. Pillowy soft inside. Wow. This is what will stop my from ever giving up carbs. For the main, I got the chicken sandwich. I've only ever had one better (in Michigan! Don't worry, Churchill Street, I would never betray you on your home turf!). It's juicy (I think thigh?), and the breading is flavorful and crunchy. It's definitely not over breaded. Right amount of spice with fresh pickles to offset it. Went out of our way to come to Churchill on our first trip to Minnesota in ~3 years. While this breakfast/lunch restaurant may look like a full service location, it is not. It's more comparable to a Buffalo Wild Wings. A hostess sits you, hands you some paper menus, then points to the register for when you're ready to order. You're expected to get up, walk to the register, remember your table number, and place your order, then go sit back down at your table. I'll admit, overall the food was good, but portions are rather small. I'd consider it overpriced for what it is, especially in comparison to competitors. There's also a weird 15% automatic fee added to your bill that is NOT a gratuity. After ordering about $40 worth of food for the two of us (without drinks) we sat down and waited for delivery. About 10 minutes pass and our food is delivered. I ordered the chipotle hash, which I finished within several minutes. Again, it was small. My girlfriend ordered the breakfast/egg sandwich, which also seemed quite plain considering it's $15 price point. As far as the staff goes, they have a hipster vibe. Every staff member is unique in their own way. Every one of the staff members I saw was skinny, and most had tattoos or something extravagant about their attire. At one point, after I finished my entire meal, and my girlfriend was half-finished with hers, the manager decided it was a good idea to come over with, unexpected news... "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but ugh... um... due to health code we can't have outside drinks in here..." (aka our Caribou Coffee to-go cups that we walked in with 20-30 mins prior). I asked him what he expected us to do with them now that we are almost finished with our meal. Rather than perhaps offering us a house coffee, he uttered out "you don't have to get all aggressive with me, I'm just letting you know for next time" to which I chuckled back that I'm just asking and in no way being aggressive. I explained to him it's our first time here and we are here from out of town. Anyways, to conclude, the food portions were small, there's a weird 15% automatic fee in top of your food, he staff is nice overall, but the manager seems to lack common sense and doesn't know how to properly handle even the slightest issue like a customer who unknowingly breaks a "rule" by walking in with outside coffee to buoy a nice breakfast. We go to Roseville weekly and this came up. Super impressed. Around 2:45 after a trip to my favorite car wash, this was close by. Molly with the heart shaped glasses helped us to much. Get signed up for the $5 off birthday deal. Which was so cool for our first visit. We were there for the walleye, but couldn't order it til 4. So we had a nice salad. Then we got the seasonal crisp and it was apple. Served warm in a large cup and just delicious. We passed on the a la mode. Basil got hibiscus iced tea that he loved. I got Rishi iced tea that I loved. The condiment areas are super organized. I spotted the raw sugar, then I see a bottle of simple syrup. It made the iced teas even better and they make it nice and strong. So roughly an hour after eating backwards , we got the walleye. I forgot the trend of stacking food, the bottom was a tarter sauce then the walleye, crunchy potatoes, and purple slaw. I scraped all the tarter sauce from Basil's bowl. I'll remember how this goes next time. There is a lot of staff here. I even saw everyone gathered behind the counter while the chef displayed a special cobb salad. 4 PM was the shift change and Molly let us run up a tab. Then the manager Lisa helped us out. Basil who is an expert in TC architecture, spotted an old fashioned door and windows leading to a private room. He noticed right away that it had been moved from another building. This place is highly organized, even pristine. The walleye was delicious, but the burgers going by were torture. I even enjoyed the bathrooms. Someone even had the brains to put extra bars in the handicapped bathroom behind you so if you're right handed you don't end up on the floor. The patio is a sure hit in the summer, nice view. I like the no tipping and no reservations also. Can't wait to go back. This will be my Shoreview stop, for sure. read more

Tried a new restaurant tonight. It came highly recommended, mostly for their breakfasts. Very hip, you can dress up or be casual. Nice covered patio area and it is on a quiet street so it is nice out there. Clint had the burger and I had the chicken sandwich. Both came with a very fresh side salad. We got the caramelized carrots with pesto sauce as an appetizer, excellent! Chocolate ice cream for desert, good. A little pricey. The chicken dinner was 1/2 of a chicken! We just can't eat that much. Great looking wine list. You are seated and then go to the counter to order. They bring your food out to the table. You serve yourself water. They have a tap for regular and sparkling water as well as cups and carafes to put it in. They add 15% gratuity so when you are done you can just leave. Came here around lunchtime on a Thursday and had to wait about 20-30 minutes to be seated (the restaurant was extremely busy!) I got the seasonal latte, breakfast sandwich, and a side of hashbrowns. I'd definitely recommend the latte and sandwich -- they were both delicious and reasonably priced. The hashbrowns, however, were a little too salty and a little too expensive in my opinion ($5 for a small rectangular piece of hashbrown). The restaurant itself was lovely and beautifully decorated! A must try! Newly opened (late 2021) brunch establishment. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Delicious food and great service. Fancy Cup of Joe: We ordered the seasonal latte with almond milk-it was perfectly made, foamy, sweetened slightly with a touch of lemon citrus oil. Starters/Sharables/Sides: We ordered the toasted butternut squash with honey soaked whole cranberries and toasted pumpkin seeds over a smear of goat cheese. It is a savory dish with a drizzle of mildly sweet honey balanced with a pop of mild tartness from the whole cranberries. Perfect fall dish. (See picture) Main Course: We ordered the breakfast sandwich and burger with fries. The breakfast sandwich was amazing- toasted sourdough bread with soft ooey-gooey egg omelet, thick cut bacon, peppery arugula, and light touch of aioli. The hamburger was hearty - toasted bun with two smashed hamburger patties and cheese. The burger came with a generous helping of lightly salted, crisp, golden French fries. All In All - (5/5 Stars): Very good breakfast/brunch with friendly, attentive, superior customer service. Clean, well lit, and spacious decor. Free parking in their private parking lot and on the street. As with most restaurants, be prepared for a 30-45+ min wait during peak hours. The waiter and the entire team provided a warm and friendly atmosphere, and it was evident that they were enjoying their work. Second time coming in for dinner and felt a bit of a let down. The ambience is perfect and very beautifully decorated. I decided to do their seasonal soup that had a lot of root vegetables and topped with jalapeños for my starter.Since their plate options didn't really stand out I decided to give their cheese plate a try for my main and that's where I was let down. I feel that it was a missed opportunity to really wow with the cheeseboard. The proportions were off and had a lot more salami than cheese, and crackers. The mustard was abundant which it's really not needed to put that much and the portions of cheese left a lot to desire. I'm surprised this should be a shared starter with the amount of cheese on this. There could of been nuts, dried fruits, and other cheeses to be featured. The pasta dish was very tasty and my partner really liked it. We both had mock tails but I have to say mine was the better one of you want something holiday inspired. I had the Ginger and Mary Anne and wow was that good! The cherry was slacked j a sweet lemon juice I think which made it a delight to have. Service was slow since there wasn't a lot of workers. To end we wanted to look at their dessert options and nothing really jumped out. Over all a good experience but definitely can be improved on. Very cute, bright dining area with friendly counter service. Lunch menu includes breakfast, salads, and sandwiches. The classic breakfast was a bit disappointing. The hashbrowns are the frozen triangles and you only get one little sausage. The hash was much better with big cubes of potato. I wish they offered those potatoes instead of the frozen triangles.
