I laughed when I saw this Church's had 1.5 stars! The food is pretty good for what it is, but there's always some difficulty with something. They can't hear your order when you're in the drive thru, paying is a hassle because of the height of the window (perfect if you're in a truck), and sometimes the order is incorrect. read more

If I could give this location zero stars, I would mostly from the customer service aspects. This was a girl with dark hair and a long braid. She closed the doors before 9 o'clock and so I had to shove a giant bag through my window for pick up even though they say it's open until 9. I had to wait a while before she even came to the window after telling me to go around as well. They're always out of spicy chicken, and all around this location has never once been a smooth experience for pick up. I'll never be setting foot in here again read more

So, I only went to get biscuits due to my mom getting some. I recently went on a diet and have to wait to eat friend chicken. I absolutely loved their biscuits. They were buttery and sweet. This place has really improved. I've tried it twice recently, and it's very good, and portions are equal to competitors. The lobby was very clean, and the kitchen is completely visible and looks pretty clean as well. An active kitchen can only be so clean. The food was very good. I've had the bone-in wings, thighs, and shrimp. Biscuits are their hook, of course, those are too good. The lady taking my order was polite and helpful and was able to answer my questions. We went through the drive thru on 4/16 at 7:30pm and the food was excellent! We had to wait 5 minutes for fresh chicken which was not a problem at all. The fried okra was hot, and delicious! We will definitely be back. The manager walked our food out. Service and food was 5 star! read more

I wasn't going to write a review of the experience I had over the weekend at this location. After allowing them the chance to make things right and they didn't, I had to. I came to this location on Saturday after my middle son's football game. I was very hungry and I was looking forward to a nice meal. I went through the drive-thru and ordered a number 4 which includes four chicken tenders, a side and a drink. I also ordered two apple pies along with that meal. I got to the window, I was handed my food by the employee, gave my money and I drove off. Once I got home I realized that I had only received 3 chicken tenders instead of 4. I immediately looked at my receipt to make sure they didn't ring me up for a number 3 which has three chicken tenders instead of the number four. Looking at my receipt I was charged for the number 4 so I called back to the store and spoke to the manager Debra. She was actually the one who handed me my food through the window. She apologized and told me to bring the receipt up to the store and I would be given the right meal. Today I went up to church's to redeem my receipt to get the right meal. I went inside and I explained to the gentleman at the counter what happened over the weekend. He called the training manager over and she adjusted the ticket. Meanwhile the gentleman that was at the counter originally had went to fix my food. Thinking this time they'd do everything to make sure I was satisfied I walk out, get in my car and leave. I get back home and I find 3 regular size chicken tenders and one little strip of chicken. The okra for the side that I had ordered was old. It was soggy and not edible. My go to favorite fast food chicken for years. Friday afternoon 03/24/2023 stopped in for take home. I've had a couple of so-so experiences lately at New Braunfels , San Antonio @ Walnut location but figured it would work out soon. Got home and opened order and It was shocking. Absolutely the WORST chicken ever. Dry, almost powdery, way overcooked and smallest pieces ever. It was almost tasteless. No chance that anyone that gave one care what their product was like would served this. Will probably not go back. Sad and a real waste of time and money....out. read more

Wow! Ordered a 3 piece tenders and an order of large jalapeño bombers. Waited out front for 25 mins just so the girl at the window could come out and ask me what I'm waiting for? I was the second in line and the last to leave. At the end, I refused the order and requested a refund. When I requested the refund, the supervisor told me she had to contact her supervisor via cellphone for approval. That's so odd!! Then she said that my order must have been bumped. How is that even possible when the transaction was processed!? Maybe y'all gave my order to the people in front of me? Maybe? I don't even care about the food at this point. This is the worst Church's I've been to. We went here and they were out of biscuits, included with both our combo meals we ordered. I asked for a discount or replacement. Their answer: nope! They ask me to pull to the front of the restaurant while our fries and okra are made. Before I move the car, I take a sip of our Coke drinks. Both completely flat. I ask the cashier about them and she offers no solution except another drink. If one flavor is flat, they're all going to be flat. We get two flat Dr Peppers served with an attitude and a request to again move our car to the front. We park the car I front where our chicken tenders arrive cold. Okay I normally never do reviews but I'm pissed. We have been to this location at least 7 times and every time we order they are out of half the items. This last time we ordered we ordered the 10 piece family mixed and they told us they were out of white chicken and it would take 10 to 15 min. for the chicken and then we were like okay then we ordered the sides our first side was okra and she stated oh we are out! Omg really well cancel the order and we went to Popeyes. We did call the manager "Ricky" and he gave us the supervisors name & number Sandra and she never called us back! We really love eating at this place but the location is horrible even the customer service is rude. She could care less that they were out of their items. Best Churchs Chicken I've ever been too! They have great service. Their very nice. They're cheap and their food is nice done and hot. My personal meal is 6 hot buffalo boneless wings and a side of mash potatoes with Hi-C as a drink. I've been to other Churches Chicken this one is by far the best one!! read more

I have been going to this location since 2006 since this is the only one in New Braunfels. As usual you have to wait to place your order through the drive thru. Then you have to wait again to receive your order whether there is a line or not. The employee opens the window with no greeting and charges you the amount. As you provide them the money, the window shuts again. Meanwhile, you can see them speaking to other employees not regarding your order and at times they leave the window. Once they return no conversation is made even when you initial it. The food is given to you and the window shuts again. They seem like robots. Yesterday, all we ordered was coleslaw and we experienced the wait and non friendliness. When we arrived home, we noticed that it was even filled to the top. Tried to call establishment, but all you can hear is a buzzing as it is a fax line. Wasn't worth it to return the food. You would think the service would get better after all these years. This place is definitely in need of training for customer service. read more

I just left here. Tried it for the first time because it kept popping up on Yelp. Definitely a waste of money. My order : 3 piece tender side of mashed potatoes and jalapeño poppers. The tenders were ok. I asked twice to make sure there was white gravy instead of brown on the mashed potatoes. There were two side of white gravy on the side and brown gravy on the mashed potatoes. Wtf? I asked TWICE. The gravy is gross. I've never had white gravy taste like that. It's hard to describe. And the poppers are the worst I've ever had they weren't crispy it was like they fried them and let them sit there for 20 mins. They were soggy, weren't even that hot. I was going to try the Mac and cheese but I was rushed when I was ordering I even said I've never been here give me just a sec. Then right after I would say something she would ask ok is that it? I wanted to be like "Well damn I guess so!" There wasn't anyone behind me in the drive thru, what are you in a rush for? She was friendly when I got to the window, I'll give her that. Came here today for the first time ever, out of ALL Church's Chickens. It was a god awful experience. First case there was a long wait but to be honest, I don't mind that since that means fresh food. BUT the lady who was taking our order was polite to say the least but was rude in the fact that she kept talking over my mother in law. She interrupted her multiple times. We ordered strips and we were not asked if we wanted dipping sauces. My mother in law and my girlfriend went in to ask for the sauces. The woman said the sauces were in there already, the sauces we hadn't asked for earlier. We got home to find out the "dipping sauce" that was in there already was just white gravy??? I don't know how often you ask for dipping sauces for strips you get white gravy... I will NEVER visit this location again. It was a horrible, unfriendly and stressful experience for a first time experience. I hope whoever is running this place sees this or somehow wises up and tries running a tighter ship. Since the location is hidden, it'd be a good idea to try to have better service to have people remember you're even there. I'd give zero stars to this place if possible. read more
