Pretty cool how their ice cream just keeps churning, hence the name. Flavor combinations are good. Pick a flavor & then choose your toppings. Their signature Cro-cream which is basically an ice cream sandwich but in a croissant. Few tables & chairs inside to enjoy your ice cream. Not sure if we came on an off night but they didn't have much available. We got their salted butter caramel & the dutch chocolate. Good flavors, more on the softer side. Came here a bit after 8 and they were closed. They still had the open signs lighted and a big welcome balloon sign out front. They seem to not stick to even their posted hours which is forgivable as things happen. But they keep their "open" signs lit up as if they are open. They also keep their signs outside as if ... again open... later I looked at reviews and found this is common for them. If I were the owner I'd be worried. Big waste of time. read more

It was a warm Friday afternoon and I had a craving. I drove here for some ice cream only to find them closed at 2pm (hours here are shown as 12:30-8pm). This did not make me happy. The following day I gambled and gave them another try at the same time and this time they were open. The fellow who helped me (the owner?) was sitting at one of two tables talking to a group of friends as I walked in. He immediately dashed behind the counter as I looked at the flavors to choose from. I forget how many there were, probably eight. They have their ice cream in metal mixing containers constantly churning. This makes their product softer than most ice cream places but not as soft as soft-serve. I chose espresso and salted caramel, two scoops in a cup. I was impressed with the generous size of each scoop. He let me know I could have one free topping. The salted caramel was the top scoop so I requested caramel sauce. He grabbed what looked like an empty squeeze bottle and worked hard to get a drizzle out. I felt odd to sit and eat at the small table next to his buddies so just took my cup out to my car. The salted caramel had an excellent combo taste of sweet and savory with the caramel sauce adding a boost to the caramel flavor. The espresso scoop was robust in flavor which I liked a lot. Due to the softness of being churned, both scoops did start to melt before I finished so having it served in a cup is a wise choice. I like the other locations much better which shows a franchise owner's decisions can really make a difference. read more

My intent was to get Vietnamese Coffee a few doors down but bumped into Churned. The place was empty but Marie greeted me with her warm smile and great vibes. I got to sample the Taro and Espresso, both very tastey and I can actually taste the flavors. I ordered my son taro and oreo with oreo toppings which he appreciated and liked. The best part about my visit was chatting it up with Marie. The shop, however, needs to be restocked. Note - this location is in a shopping center right off the fwy. Parking can be an issue during prime time hours as it has many eateries. Restroom is in the back and is fairly clean. read more

This was the most disappointing ice cream I have ever eaten. We went to buy a pint to take home and sampled many flavors. Each flavor we tried was practically flavorless or tasted very artificial. We finally selected the chocolate because it was the least offensive--similar to a fudgsicle. The folks at home could not identify the flavor. I feel bad because the owner was very nice and helpful. I think this is just a very bad franchise. I think the concept (individual ice cream churns from which the product is served) is good. The problem is the mix is terrible. Good ice cream should have cream, eggs and sugar. Check the image for the ingredients in the ice cream we bought. Here are the ingredient in Haagen Dazs chocolate: Cream, sugar, concentrated skim milk, liquid egg yolk, cocoa. I should mention that with the tax and tip, this ice cream cost over $13 for the pint. read more

Well. My bf and I were really excited to try this place. We went out of our way and drove 30 minutes. We pull up at 8:20pm to this. They have 2 open signs by the way and they left one ON. If you want to close early, update your hours. Literally so disappointed. read more

They were open on New Years Day, which was nice when so many places were closed. The owner showed us how each of the flavors were being made from scratch and offered us free tastings. We ordered everything from scoops to shakes and each one was amazing. if you want absolutely fresh ice cream or sorbet, with optional opportunity to mix in fun things like sprinkles or cereal, this is the place to be! read more

SO DELICIOUS! We always go to Thanh Binh and are so happy to see a dessert spot open in this center. The flavors are all amazing. They allow you to taste them all before choosing. I got Oreo and peanut butter and my fiancée got salted-butter caramel and espresso. All sooo good. I tried the Nutella as well and will have to get it next time. The owner was so nice and sweet and you can tell he truly cares about his flavors. They have some to go in mason jars, super cute. After eating at Uoko (Japanese restaurant next door) I walked past by Churned and decided to give it a try. I was told the shop only opened for less than a month, and seeing refrigerators are only half full, I could see it is the new kid in the plaza. They didn't have the full list of flavors, I asked for taro and then nutella, and none was available. I asked the employee to tell me what flavors are available and settled on Italian Espresso. My husband got the dairy-free mango sorbet. The taste is fine, but the ice cream texture is soft, like milk shake consistency, instead of a firm ice cream feel. I do wish it were a bit firmer. Its single scoop is $5.50, and the scoop isn't big, so I think it's pricy (comparing to Handel's portion and cost). I still wish people would give this place a try, support the newbie and help them to improve. read more

The ice cream tasted like cleaner . The croissant was hard and also did not taste very good. I was very upset about the taste because the photos made it look so yummy. I kept eating the ice cream because I had paid for it and I found a piece of plastic in the ice cream :(. It made me even more upset so I took it to the employee and asked for my money back. I enjoyed the atmosphere just as much. The outdoor patio is spacious, making it a great spot to meet up with friends, bring your laptop to get a little work or studying done, or simply enjoy a coffee. The space is warm, welcoming, and filled with beautiful, unique furniture. While in there, you almost forget you're in Orange County. Highly recommend! These were sweet and tasty but not to the point where they were SO sweet they hurt my teeth. They also have some milk (duh) that comes in amazing little glass bottles. Good thing I got here before 11am on my way to church; I read a review here that the lines go out the door after 11am. Whew. On this inaugural visit, I got thei namesake cream pan. Ate it with great joy & delight. So delicious, so delectable. One thing I don't get is how there's over 8k photos here when the sign clearly says no photography and no video, but lots of people still love to take photos. My best guess is the store owners don't want people slowing down the line & keep everyone moving along. There are signs for that too, to move it along.

Not too soggy, didn't have a weird taste to it. It was cold but still had a good chew to it. Parking is always easy to find although on busier nights, you'll have to park quite far and wait in a longer queue. I've only been here once during the day and there isn't much shade provided for the seated area. Honestly there isn't much seating in general which I can understand due to the way the location is. It would be ideal to improve the seating, if possible. Two tables with no umbrella/shade isn't appealing during hot summer days and you're stuck eating ice cream in the car.

Absolutely phenomenal experience! This ice cream shop is a gem, and I'm so glad I found it. I picked up a pint of their freshly churned Oreo ice cream, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The texture was incredibly smooth and creamy, and you could taste the freshness in every bite. It was indulgent without being overly sugary, which I truly appreciated. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. You can tell they take great pride in their craft. On top of the amazing quality, the value was outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was for such premium ice cream. It felt like I was getting a high-end treat without breaking the bank. If you're an ice cream lover (or even if you're not!), do yourself a favor and stop by this shop. There were nice little chunks of truffle and good raspberry swirls and the sea salt had some good little chucks of toffee. I'd say a first visit was a great success and if I'm feelin in the mood again I would absolutely come back to try something else!
