Went there the other day for an early dinner.Was helped by Johnny! He was excellent, had everything right. Ate in the car because we had our Rambunctious Dog Johnny, delivered to our Car the best Quesadilla we have ever eaten, along with 4 Tacos, 2 Beef and 2 Chicken, and the Crispiest,Tasty Tortilla Chips, with just enough Salt! Mmmmm! The sauce was delicious as well. We hadn't been there in a few years. We live in Chatsworth so it is a little drive! But, worth it!! Inside and Outside ample room for sitting or just a Friendly Drink of your choice! Big Parking Lot, and they take Credit Cards. Lovely, Kick Back Place! Went to Chuy's Baja Grill with a group of people. called earlier during the week to make reservations for about 25. When my group got there, we were greeted by smiles and open arms. Jonathan the GM was able to put the outside tables together with reserved sign's and he made sure his wait staff took care of us. Love the environment, food was very reasonably priced, drinks were excellent and awesome staff. Looking forward to having more of my gatherings here. read more

Went to Chuy's for a Friday lunch. The cashier let us know about the lunch specials. They have a great chicken burrito lunch deal that my son ordered, with added avocado and I ordered the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were large and delicious! Both came with a side of rice, and mine also had a side of pinto beans. They have nicely flavored in house made tortillas chips and a salsa bar. I was happy to find a Chuys as they no longer exist in Arizona. The one in Santa Clarita close and turned to Yelp for help. It directed me to Simi Valley in which from the rear looked closed. I arrived a little after 10:30am and was greeted by Crystal who welcomed us. Went to Chuy's for happy hour today. Taco Tuesday specials included $4 Mexican Draft beers yes please! Also got the HH tri tip sliders which included fries. Sliders were great with an onion ring on top be sure to get cheese on them they were excellent. Fries were really good. Service was excellent Gabby took care of me. They have a new GM who was super cool and gave me a sample of the tri tip it was bomb. I'll be back for happy hour or some live music on the weekends for sure. read more

Over the last 3 years, I have substantially reduced my salt intake. When I eat an occasional taco or pizza slice, I feel some moderate effects. However a few bites of chicken at Chuy's and I had to stop- it was so over the top salty that it TASTES poisonous. Worse, within 20 minutes my tongue felt swollen, my face flushed, and my hands and ankles swelled. I threw the rest away. It took five glasses of water to flush my system. If you have a standard American intake of sodium, you probably won't notice these effects. For people who have weened off our national addiction to salt- STAY AWAY from Chuy's! read more

The salsa bar was great (loved the tomatillo), chips were warm and crisp, and the guac plus beans and rice hit the spot. Casual Tex-Mex, sports bar that had TV's playing the Dodgers game and live rock music on a Saturday night -I was a happy girl. Outdoor patio was pretty crowded, so get there early for a seat. Various beers on tap, mixed drinks available and I ate chips and guacamole. Service was nice, my friend ordered and therefore I didn't interact much. Large free parking lot, in which dragster-type cars with noisy mufflers did a little show and revved on by, later in the evening. We use to love coming to Chuys, till they changed owner, along with making Jessica the manager who is absolutely horrible , she is mean to her staff unless she likes you, not to mention the prices are out of control, you can't order a pitcher of beer unless you have at least four people in your party or the cashier has to get approval from little miss wonderful Jessica.... It's really sad because the other staff are absolutely amazing, one sour person can mess it up for everyone. Side note, Funny thing is I just called the Bakersfield Chuy's and the girl laughed at me when I asked if you have to have a minimum of 4 people to get a pitcher of beer, Go figure the Simi West is screw us people!!!! We went here for lunch today. I hadn't eaten here in years. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and attentive. They have been expanding and remodeling, including a new bar display. The food was delicious. The menu seems mostly the same, but I could tell the quality is greatly improved. Oh Chuy's how you have changed! My favourite mesquite fish taco is twice as much money and much less taco. $7.00 al carte taco!! My favourite chicken wings with the horseradish dressing is no longer there. They taste just like the same buffalo sauce every one else uses. The wings were under done and they did not look like happy chickens as the bones were shredding. The salsa bar has no chips as I assume they cost money too. My favourite red sauce that they used to have in the squeeze bottle at the salsa bar is no longer there. I am sad to say that, it's likely my last visit to Chuy's as the prices are very high for the quality and size of food we had. $35.00 for lunch and that was with some Happy Hour football prices. read more

The food and comfort, not so much. Dear Hubby and I had a late breakfast, so we weren't really that hungry. We decided to order a pastrami sandwich to share, which came with one side (we chose tater tots). DH also ordered a cup of chili as an extra side. BIG mistake. At $7.25 for cup of inedible chili, that was a bad choice. It was overly salty, and extremely greasy. They charged 50 cents for a tiny sprinkling of onions on top. Really? That was an extra insult, considering that we skipped the cheese on the sandwich, and we didn't get a deduction for leaving that out. Speaking of the sandwich - it was tasty and well-made, but was very skimpy on actual pastrami filling. Not a good value. The bill was $40 for a shared sandwich, one small draft beer, a generous glass of pineapple juice, and the terrible side of chili. Since eating out is getting so expensive, I always hope (and expect!) that dining establishments would put their best foot forward so that guests will like what they're serving and want to return. Another note - the chair that I was about to sit down on was so wobbly and in bad repair that I could have suffered a fall. I mentioned it to one of the servers. She thanked me, but made no effort to remove it from the floor. That's a potentially dangerous situation which went untended. I didn't see a manager on the floor or I would have called it to their attention. I dragged over a chair in better condition from another table myself. It's a sports bar. It's reasonably clean. The kitchen did them no favors today. We'll be looking for another place to go when the 49'ers aren't on national TV during this NFL season.

Also, I wanted to leave a special shout-out for the young man working as a busser during my visit (Hispanic, black hair, wearing a black shirt and pants). I was incredibly impressed by his work ethic. He moved a massive amount of outdoor furniture from the patio all the way to the storage ( assumed ) area entirely by himself. It was quite a distance, and I'd estimate he made more than a dozen trips, working until he was red-faced and breaking a sweat. What impressed me even more was that as soon as he finished that heavy lifting, he went right back to cleaning tables and helping out without missing a beat. I hope his employer recognizes what a dedicated and hard-working employee they have. It's rare to see that level of effort, and as a customer, it definitely didn't go unnoticed!"

I ended up getting the chili with two flour tortillas but you add to it like cheese, onions, etc. my fiancée got the chicken burger and I took a small bite, pretty good. The sweet potatoes fries nice and crispy. The bartender said all the pizzas are good which I believe her cause I saw a few people order them and they looked good! I also noticed calamari being ordered at a few tables so I'll def order those next time! As fun as it can be, the bar area can get a little rowdy. Wasn't the vibe I was going for but hey next time I know and maybe we'll sit at the booths. There's a huge parking lot and outside area to sit at.
