I've seen a lot of mixed reviews but it's like people expect this elevated experience at a sports grill which isn't realistic. If you want typical sports bar food - flavorful, hearty, greasy, then that's what you get here! I got a blackened chicken sandwich and it was just as I expected. Maybe I'd ask for lettuce also next time but it was good! My kids got wings and mozzarella sticks which were also good. The mozzarella sticks were a bit overdone, some the cheese was totally melted out, but overall decent. My husband loved his Philly. We also got pretzels with cheese, super buttery, but still tasted good. Also the wedge fries were like sooooo buttery. And I love butter but dang a bit much. Service was great everyone was so nice! Food is pretty mediocre at best. The service here is non existent. Our server too forever to even greet us, we sat at the table for over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we sat down. We ordered a michelada but all that came out was a regular beer. Everything we ordered, came out extremely slow and wrong. Our server was no where to be found. We even were sitting right in the middle of service. We would ask for assistance, and employees would tell us they weren't our server. We popped in on a Friday late afternoon just in time for happy hour that was from 3-6pm where select cocktails, beer and wine can be had at discounted price. Plus a selection of food items. On a Friday late afternoon, the bar was really filling in. By five, the inside was pretty packed with large parties of guest. If you don't want to sit inside, the bar also offers a large patio area. Summary: This is a staple in Simi valley. Great drink and good food. Food: i always get the reuben sandwich. Honestly this is the mist delicious reuben ive had. Sauerkraut is great and just in general a very delicious sandwich. Drink: they have good beers on tap. My personal favorite is the madewwest Ipa. Atmosphere: staff is nice and its a great restaurant. Biggest downside is having to find your own seat. I went in saint patties say and i has to box out some peeps to get my seat. Otherwise its great. I had a lot of fun here last night. My friends and family and I got together here to watch the Seattle Seahawks play against the San Francisco 49ers. I wasn't quite sure what type of places was before I arrived. It is definitely a locals spot. Located very conveniently just off of the freeway, it is in a good size strip mall that includes other businesses like donut, shops, the bank, other small restaurants, I believe I saw a nail salon too. It is definitely not a trendy or fancy place. When we arrived, I noticed that most people at the sports bar were wearing jerseys or they were very comfortable in T-shirts and sweatshirts. Kids are definitely welcome. They have both inside and outdoor patio seating. We got lucky and did not have to wait for a table. This place fills up pretty quickly for games. Their decor is mostly made up of either neon lights mounted on the wall to advertise their beer, offerings or it is sports memorabilia. Their menu is not going to give you a tremendous amount of variety of things, but there are plenty of offerings. I can't say that I saw any vegetarian options here besides salads but they do have all of your classic bar food and appetizer type of offerings. They have fries, tater tots, curly fries, potato skins, all the different ways you could make cook or really want potatoes. They have burgers and other sandwiches. They have chicken wings of all different flavors. They have salads, although I didn't really look at their offerings too much. They also have a pretty good size kids menu. Our family ordered nachos and Irish nachos. One of the kids had the mini corn dogs and tater tots. Everything that I tried was tasty. Personally, I felt that the chicken wings that we got were a little too salty. But then again, I have a very sensitive palette and I don't need much salt in my food. The flavor of chicken wings that we got was a garlic, lemon pepper I believe. Again, very tasty. But for me, just a little too salty. I loved how Light and crispy their tater tots were. Their beer is served in large goblets. Their sodas and other non-alcoholic drinks tend to be served in large paper cups with lids on them. And of course, I mentioned the fact that there are lids on these cups because I have kids. I know how important a detail that can be. Anyway, the servers were all very friendly. You can tell they are all very accustomed to large parties and having to split checks 10,000 different ways. The servers are very attentive and actually if you come here I have a feeling it will be helped by several of them and not just one that starts out with you. I sat inside and there was a group that may have been coordinating the FFL draft. Any way they were loud and dropping F Bombs like nothing. We have been regulars at Simi Valley Cronies since they opened. We have always had excellent service and wonderful memories with friends and family dining here. Today they went above and beyond. We came in with a large party of 14 after church on Football Sunday. The hostess and manager worked hard to accommodate us and put together tables and chairs to make it work. First visit here. And before I get to the rest of a review I need to compliment the wonderful service we received, it was great. The decor was typical sports bar, no surprises there, even the hand carved graffiti in the mens room spoke to the usual clientele. My only mistake was trying something unique, chorizo and eggs, in a place where chicken fried steak or bacon and eggs is the usual breakfast fare. My chorizo was tasteless and they have no idea what home fries should look like. So my breakfast was only two stars at best. On the bright side, their iced tea was perfection. In fact, between the tea and the wonderful service, I am making what would have been a three star review into four stars instead. The food was pretty good but as they say in France, the services was Phonies! We asked the waitress to turn on the ceiling fan and she forgot. We asked for extra syrup for the pancakes. She forgot and never came back. And it took a long time to get our food even though it wasn't really busy. The best thing I can say about our waitress is that she had a smile on her her face and was very nice during the very brief time she was at our table. She spent most of her time sitting at the bar chatting with another customer. So, if zombies were taking over the world and Cronies was one of the last places standing, I would eat there. Definitely the worst dining experience my wife and I ever had!!! I'm not saying I've never had a bad dining experience before but this one was the worst! My wife and I were promptly seated and our order was taken quickly, but everything went south after that. We ordered an appetizer which never arrived, so we cancelled it after our food arrived. My order was correct but my wife's order was not. She promptly went to let staff know, but instead of receiving an apology for the mistake, she was given attitude by one of the staff members. She returned to our table and waited for her food. Instead of enjoying a meal together, I was forced to eat first so that my meal would not get cold. After 15 minutes had passed she decided to cancel her meal so we could leave and get some food elsewhere. When she cancelled her order she again got attitude from staff. Finally they agreed to cancel her order for food she never received correctly. And when I went to pay I was being charged for an Ice Tea that my wife was going to drink with her food. The staff member seemed very confused when I explained that my wife didn't drink the tea because she never got her food. After finally having the iced tea removed and being told that they were not going to charge me for my wife's meal (again) I receive my total and find out I was extra for wedge fries i ordered with my meal. I was floored because at no point did our server informed me of this when I placed my order. At this point I was tired, disappointed, and very upset, so I didn't argue and just paid my bill. I have no problem paying for great food and service, but when everything is bad, it's hard to justify spending any money there. If you're looking for good service, great food, and not getting ripped off, stay away from this place. read more

The location is very nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the beer was very cold. Lots of TVs to watch all your sports. When my bill arrived, it only had 3 beers when I actually had 4 beers. I had the server make the adjustment and also, my BLT wasn't on the bill either and I also had that added. We've been to Cronies several times this football season. The first two times, we met a couple of friends and enjoyed breakfast offerings. The restaurant was adapted to COVID-19 guidelines, with plentiful tables under tented roofs outside in the parking lot / sidewalk area. Our first experience was decent, with fresh breakfast entrees that got the job done of filling empty stomachs. The coffee was surprisingly good, for a "grill" that lives on serving frosty schooners of beer to their sports enthusiast customers. Service was friendly and struck the balance of keeping everyone fed while also not hovering during the 3 hours of a game's playing time. At the time, I'd have given a four star rating. The second time it dropped to a three star experience. The food wasn't quite as appealing for some reason, and there were some adjacent patrons that were descending into drunkenness, which was uncomfortable to watch (at 11:00 in the morning!). It's not totally on the restaurant, but it just stopped feeling family-friendly. The noise volume get really high, too. The third time, it was just Dear Hubby and me, and it was was a game later in the day. Again, the number of other guests over-imbibing in massive amounts of beer became a distraction to just trying to watch our team play. I do give high marks to their tots. They come out of the kitchen perfectly prepared, fluffy and tasty. The order is so generous that I normally take half or more home to enjoy later in the week. They do a very generous pour for cranberry juice. Options for the designated drive are juices, coffee, or sodas, or fountain lemonade. Their servers are always moving, and usually very friendly. They've made big efforts to provide as safe an atmosphere as possible during 'VIT times, with socially distanced tables, mask-wearing, sanitizing surfaces, and serving some of the food in disposable containers. They do have many TV's going to optimize the options for watching games. We'll probably give them another try before the season winds down. read more

I have always liked Cronies, the food and the sports and the fun atmosphere and had not been there in a while. We went on Saturday the 7th and to be honest, I think they have priced themselves on the higher side for most casual diners. I found the mixed drinks to be pricey, both about $13.00 each (high for sports bar) - - maybe it was their description of 2 oz. drinks (?) - the sandwiches were not bad but nothing special were about $14.29 each and potatoes were extra. Our grand-daughter had some mac and cheese ($5.99 and was Kraft out of a box) and a side of fries that was $5.99. The bill including our tip was over $90 and I can think of other places in town that would be much more enjoyable for the same or less $$$. read more
