We were greeted and welcomed as soon as we entered the door by someone from the management team who happened to be walking by. Very welcoming as we let him know we were in the area showing homes and found them on Yelp. We were seated in one of their comfortable booths across from the bar. Large enough to fit a group of 6+ adults comfortably. There is a billboard section in eyesight with two pool tables and a large screen tv. The open layout consists of booths, high table seating as well as standard table seating, multiple TVs, all in view of the stage where weekly events host artists, karaoke, DJs, and dancing. You get a vibe that this is definitely the hangout spot for the community. One word embodies this charming and hospitable roadhouse... "FELICIA!" We sat in her section and felt like we were old friends reconnecting. Such a sweetheart that loves her customers genuinely, wanting you to have the best experience while in her care. Friend local to the area too me here as he wanted to try too. Our first thoughts were around there not being any individual bbq options on the menu. We shared the $55 plate and added rib for $12. The meat was good, tender and flavorful. The pastrami was especially good, but so rich it's hard to eat much of it. Half of the meat was served cooler than room temp, which was disappointing and it took quite awhile to come out (restaurant was prob 1/2 full. ). The brisket was basically fat with a little meat on it With this sampler platter you could substitute the sides but not the meats. Service was .... Wait did we have a server?? Yea. We came here last night for Thursday night football 9/10/26 with another couple to watch the game and enjoy the food and drinks special they had advertised. First off let me start off by saying we sat at the table and waited for at least 10-12 minutes until someone acknowledged us. Mind us it wasn't even busy yet....When they finally did they said a server came by she said " I'm not at this table but I'll help you anyways" we ordered wings , nachos with brisket , a pitcher of beer , cornbread for the table. The food was constantly wrong that was being brought out to us, we waited over an hour and half for 12 buffalo wings because they " forgot" and " still being made" excuses we kept getting. Out of 24 wings we ordered 12 of them were buffalo that were overcooked and dried out, 6 of the apricot ones were severely undercooked and ended up making me sick all night , the other 6 were bbq and were also not fully cooked. They took 35 min to bring the apricot flavor wings because they kept bringing the wrong flavor to the table. They also brought the wrong nachos to the table as well because it didn't have any brisket on it and also had pico on it which I requested no pico. The overall place was super loud and we couldn't even hear each other talk and they even had the wrong game on for the first 5 minutes until we told them to change it to the correct game. They also forgot to bring our friends alcohol drinks they ordered and the server was like oh it's coming ....40 min later. We were so over it that we just left during half time and went to a different bar to watch the rest of the game. What a horrible experience for someone who's trying to bring the business back. I've been to Cork & Batter a few times now, starting from when they first opened, and the food has always been on point! My first visit I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which I absolutely LOVED, and the C&B Smash Burger SOOOO GOOD!!! Another time I came during the day with my friend and her son because we were craving BBQ. They ordered the hot links, brisket nachos which were HUGE and the smoked brisket sandwich. I was craving something lighter, so I went with the Caesar salad. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how their Caesar is served in wedges instead of being chopped up, but overall the food was still delicious! Most recently, I came over the weekend for a little date night and we had such a fun time! The late-night wings and drinks were soooo yummy, and the servers were super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is lively and fun with a huge open space and A LOT of seating. They also have a dance floor and live music on the weekends, which makes it such a fun spot whether you're coming for dinner, drinks, a date night, or a night out with friends. No one wants lukewarm/cold BBQ'd meats 1- service was awful, took a good 10 minutes after being seated before a waiter came to take our order. It was 6 PM and not crowded and they had a ton of workers. I had to wave my waiter down to pay the bill. I love it when they have those handheld credit card machines and They've already tapped the 25% tip. Love it!! 2- we ordered the family platter of 4 meats and 2 sides. The pork ribs were spare ribs since it had that big piece of hard fatty cartilage at the end. We got a huge chunk of fat for the brisket. Did not know I ordered "fatty" brisket. Pastrami was over salty and did not have any texture. It was gelatinous. The sausage tasted like the Hillshire farm prepackaged sausage you can buy at Ralph's. Along with the grossness of the meat's, it was all lukewarm/cold at best. I ordered the seasonal vegetable and sweet potato fries. Nowhere on the menu that these were upgraded sides and I had to pay $2 extra for each side. Came here to check it out on a Monday. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the wings with apricot bbq as a starter and they were good, didn't stand out too much. The smash burger is packed with fresh flavor and so are the fries. Finally a good gourmet burger! I haven't found a good one lately so I know where to come now! However, you don't need the fries when you have delicious Mac n cheese and baked beans for sides. Prob the best Mac n cheese at a Bbq spot. We also got the sampler which is great if it's the first time here. It brings 4oz of each meat from the pit with 2 sides of your choice plus cornbread and it's enough for 2 people. The cornbread is good and crispy, does the job. The ribs were delicious, the corn beef was also flavorful. The brisket was a little dry but not bad and the sausage was okay. Our waitress was Amanda. She was nice, welcoming and friendly enough to share some of her favorites. However, we were a little put off when we asked for a box and she completely took our plate away right after we said that and as I was enjoying some of the fries she took it away as well. I was shocked lol. She did say she is new so maybe she hasn't been taught to wait or ask if it's okay to take the plate away lol but it wasn't very pleasant. She might've been nervous. Ate there for the second time last night- The service was marginal to bad- had to ask multiple times for things to show up. Also the place was basically empty but the service was still poor. Other things that bothered me was the bathrooms were a mess w paper towels all over the floor and sink required you to touch the hot and cold water controls- all other places have gone to touches for sanitary reasons. Next the bottles of sauce which we had to ask for after our food was served were sticky and obviously were never wiped down by the staff. Also someone at our party tripped and fell in the floor mat near the bar/ main entrance and one of the workers sitting in the. Are witnessed it and basically blew it off and never asked how the person was that fell and hurt her wrist- really unprofessional. Went for the first time yesterday for my girl friends birthday and had the best experience! The decor, the music, everything was perfect! I want that playlist. But really the vibes were just great and the place is decorated so well! The staff was lovely. Everyone was sooo nice! I didn't get our servers name but we spoke with Isabelle towards the end and she was just so sweet and the best energy. The food! Sooo good. We all got burgers. Not sure if today was an off day but they had a lot of missing items from the menu. Service was good. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered chili as an appetizer good as a meal on its own or sharing between two. Corn bread was flaky and dry but the honey butter helped. We ordered the family platter for 4 which fed a group of 5 of us well with some leftovers - comes with 4 different meat options and two sides and cornbread. Mash potatoes was bland. Mac and cheese was average. The pastrami and the sausage links stood out the most. Pastrami was tender and flavorful. The brisket was overcooked. Ribs were too sweet in my opinion. Alright C&B, much better this time around! After my last visit certainly had my hesitations here. Some times an experience really does come down to who's behind the kitchen and who's serving you. Came with a buddy mainly for drinks and casual food. We ordered the Cork and Batter Nachos with brisket, pastrami sliders and charred street corn. I found the meat in both the nachos and sliders to be much better this time. Tender and didn't feel rushed. Street corn was loaded with toppings and a nice touch of spice. When we walked in, the guy at the front was talking with a server about a bad review they got, felt unprofessional to have to overhear. I also noticed a bunch of overly positive reviews from sketchy looking accounts, all mentioning the same server (Jessica R.), plus one from an account with that exact name. Not saying they're all fake, but it does make the rating make more sense considering the food. Anyway, we showed up 10 minutes early for our reservation and ended up awkwardly waiting by the front door with cold air hitting us and the door slamming every time someone walked in. Not docking points for that since we were early, just mentioning it. Once we finally got seated, service was good considering how busy it was. The place is basically a sports shrine, TVs everywhere and even a pool table. Very on brand for Simi. Food was kind of all over the place. Diet Coke was very flat - like Coke flavored water. Queso appetizer was very watery with big chunks of brisket that sank to the bottom because of the watery consistency (4/10). Chili had good flavor but wasn't warm enough, especially on a cold day. Brisket was too salty and rubbery for me, husband liked it though. Ribs were solid and smoky. Onion rings tasted frozen. Mashed potatoes gave instant vibes. Pickled radishes/pickles/jalapeños were actually a nice touch. But honestly best thing I had all night was the bottled San Pellegrino... so shoutout to whoever runs the fridge! Also, no plates came with the entrées and we had to flag someone down for utensils. Not the end of the world, but still annoying. Spent my Birthday here last Friday and for the most part we loved it! Loved the ambiance! Love the service! Our server's name was Bryon and he was AMAZING! The appetizers were really good! We ordered the Cowboy Candy which were strips of candied bacon and we ordered the grilled street corn! Both were really good! We also ordered the Caesar Salad which was great! I would've given 5 Stars if my Meats weren't so dry :( the Pulled Pork was really dry and my St. Louis Ribs I could only have 1 it was so bland. The Brisket tho was phenomenal! I would've given definitely get that again! I still gave 4 Stars because of the atmosphere and service! I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu like the Burger & Chicken Sandwich! My goal is to support restaurants within my city but after giving this establishment multiple tries, I think I am at limit! This is my first experience sitting in dining room. All of my other experiences have been enjoying drinks or drinks and food at the bar. I was hoping my overall experience would be better in the dining room. To join me on this experience, I invited a couple of friends for dinner before taking in a show. To provide plenty of time, we grabbed an early dinner at 530pm on a Friday. At 530 the dining room was relatively empty. Even with the emptiness of the restaurant it took over 25 minutes to get our first round of drinks. And at that point only two of the three drinks arrived. Waiting 25 minutes is a ridiculous time when the restaurant is empty. As it took close to 30 minutes for drinks, we were unsure if we should order food as we had a show to attend to. As we have not had dinner, we decided to order some food. We ordered a couple of appetizers, as we were getting hungry and some dinner. The onion rings were a miss: they were small and overcooked--dark in color. When oil is not changed out regularly this overcooked appearance can occur. The guacamole was solid, just wish there was more. We also ordered the brisket: I suggest getting lean otherwise a good portion of the meat is pure fat. We also ordered the fried chicken, which looked good and confirmed to be good from my friend. I had trouble understanding the waiter a bit when he was explaining the beer menu and they were out of most of the local brands. He was very attentive though and quick friendly service. Also could barely understand the girl taking photos of everyone. Actually she couldn't understand me and I speak pretty clearly. I hate when they try to sell you pics but that's the way it goes and not a complaint. Just she would do better if she could converse with people and show some personality. I ordered brisket sandwich. It was just ok. Bread was soft and not of the higher quality you would expect like a fresh baguette. Fries were excellent. Portions were generous. The service is par for most Simi restaurants, not good. Too much chatting and no knowledge of what good service is. The food has gone downhill. They used to use roasted chicken on the salads ( as should a BBQ place) now its a very dry and tough chicken breast. The salad had quite a bit of slimy lettuce that I picked out. Finally gave up. I finally got to try Cork & Batter after hearing such great things. First off, they have a really good happy hour! Monday-Friday from 3-6pm. This is perfect for moms like me who want a fun little break before the evening chaos of dinner, baths and bedtimes. So YES I popped in during happy hour and this is what I ordered: Two espresso martinis and they were absolutely delicious, was NOT expecting that. I started with one and ended up with another, that GOOD. For food, I upgraded my cheese fries to chili cheese fries and OMG!!! SO GOOD!! The fries were crispy, cheesy, and flavorful. 100% happy I upgraded. The chili and drizzle they put on top made my cheese fries next level. Highly recommend, 10/10. Service was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciate. My only tiny downside: the fries took about 30-40 minutes to come out and it wasn't very busy. That part was a bit confusing. Our first visit to Cork & Batter likely won't be our last, but I walked away feeling a bit of a love/hate relationship. The prices are reflective of the good quality meats, so I can offer understanding of that aspect. It's not inexpensive, to be sure. The interior is not what is typically found in Simi Valley restaurants. It has a very attractive style that's more often found in T.O. or Westlake Village. They bill themselves as a Roadhouse, but it's a very posh roadhouse atmosphere. I enjoyed soaking up the architecture, lighting, and accessories in the room housing the large bar. One note upon entrance - while our greeting was friendly, the hostess seemed to assume that we'd been to the restaurant before and knew our way around. It was our first time, so we had no idea of the layout or seating options. We ended up seating ourselves at the bar at the southeast portion of it. From there we had a nearly unobstructed view of the kitchen doors and the utility area within. Because the lights were on brightly in there, as the servers came and went, and the walls inside are stark white, it grabbed my attention much more than I would have liked while trying to have a relaxing time with DH. Those logistics aren't ideal. One of the reasons we wanted to try this place, aside from it being new(er) in town, is that we are hoping to find a good option for somewhere to go for Sunday NFL football on those weeks when our team is not being broadcast on a national telecast. We asked at the host stand about whether they open early during the football season on Sundays. We didn't get a really good answer about that, one way or another. I never saw a manager on the floor who I would have gladly spoken with and asked those questions. The way the bar is laid out would lend itself to watching games. They have multiple screens tastefully arranged above the center service area of the bar. We watched the Dodgers overtake and beat the Giants on one of those screens. DH got to enjoy a draft beer, but sadly, despite having a "full bar", they have no zero proof options, except NA beer. That's bucking an emerging trend for bars to offer options for those that don't want to imbibe alcohol. (I tried my first zero proof mixed drink at a bar in T.O. and it was fabulous!) On that score, I'd say that C&B is missing out. Foodwise, we had come from a child's birthday party with so-so pizza, and we weren't starving, but we wanted something more like a real meal. We ended up sharing a tri-tip sandwich with a side order of onion rings. We added a small side of their beans. They were out of pastrami (!) at 7:00 at night - what?! Hence the tri-tip. It was smoked to perfection, with a discernably deep, rich flavor. It was slightly dry, just a bit, and it would have been nice to have a very light au jus available just to add back in some moisture. The beans had an intriguing flavor note that I just couldn't place. Some sort of alcohol? I asked the bartender/server. He said he wasn't sure, and he'd ask. Never heard back, so it remains a mystery. The beans and their unique flavor are very rich; a small amount goes a long way. The onion rings were prepared to the right degree of doneness, but I don't remember a distinctive taste to them. There was a small up-charge for having onion rings versus fries. They offer live music on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at 9 p.m. That's interesting in and of itself, since Simi pretty much rolls up the streets for dining or being out on the town past about 8:30. We'd had a long day and decided not to stay this time, but I would be interested to go and try out a music night at Cork & Batter sometime. The parking lot isn't adequate for the place. There are signs indicating another lot across the street, but there's insufficient lighting, no stop signs, and no crosswalk supporting that plan. People, like us, are going to want to park to the west in the adjacent lot which also features a ramen place, so their parking becomes strained. Not ideal. Overall, it feels like they have a lot of their elements in place, and very good smoked meats, but service, communication, and some of the finer elements are still in the rough edges territory. read more

This has been the case every time we've gone. We got the brisket instead and it was lukewarm and dry. The sides are small and none of the food looks like the pictures. Went to Cork and Batter on Friday night. Called ahead, was told the kitchen closed at 10, and we showed up at 8:50pm. That one star goes entirely to the hostess who sat us, she was genuinely nice and the only person who checked on us all night. (I wish I got her name but if you were at the door and serving drinks you know who you are : ) She told us our waiter would be Brayden. We waited. Nada. She came back herself to take our drink order and recommended a few things, which were, and I say this with love, trash. But we sipped. We asked for water along with our drinks but water never came. The place was ridiculously loud apparently they were setting up for line dancing. We didn't get our drinks until 9:30. When she brought them, she let us know they were out of several things. We wanted nachos; they were out of chips (LOL). She offered fries instead, fine, sure. Then she came back to tell us she was going on break but Jose would take care of us. 9:50, still no Jose. I flagged someone down for the check and we left. $38 for two bad drinks and a headache. It was so bad I probably could have walked out and they wouldn't have known I didn't pay. This reminds me of the show bar rescue lol. If loud and chaotic is the vibe they're going for, more power to them but it wasn't for us. Stopped by here for a last minute dinner because we were craving BBQ. We were seated promptly in the side bar area. This part was quieter and not as lively as the main dining room. Our server quickly took our order and the cornbread came out first. Crumb after crumb, we enjoyed every bite with the delicious butter. Then out came the chili which was so yummy and unlike any chili I've had before. The shredded meat gave it a unique texture and lots of flavor. We got the build your own platters and it was the perfect portion for our party of 4. Every bite was tasty! The Mac and cheese was delicious too. Loved the cool cowboy decor here and the comfy seating at large tables. Will be back when we're in town. read more

Each time we come here it seems to get a little bit better! Definitely excellent service thank you Braden! Very nice and attentive! Everything tasted great! This place is so dang overpriced though! We added brisket on top of our nachos and for the amount they gave us! DEFINITELY NOT worth charging us $10 for! Had we known that was how much they were going to charge us to add brisket we would not have ordered it. The tri-tip sandwich and the brisket sandwich were both awesome. The Cowboy candy bacon appetizer was really good, but could've been more crispy because it was very mushy. The "baby back" ribs we definitely not baby backs but rather St. Louis style and they were excellent! And as always, St. Louis style ribs have a lot more meat on them than the baby backs. My half pound of brisket was tasty except one of the pieces they threw in there was completely overdone and tough. Random-didn't belong not sure why they would put a poor quality piece on the plate with all the rest being cooked to perfection. Not worth $23! And I've commented on this before, the aluminum trays have to go. They're too "cafeteria like". They don't go with the decor and mine was spinning and slipping all over the place as I'm trying to cut into my meat. And not sure why but they lined my tray with some kind of wax paper (under the food) that became soggy and was ripping as I'm cutting into my food with small pieces sticking to my meat. Seriously lose the aluminum trays they are so tacky! The restaurant is nice with an upscale vibe and yet they serve entrées on these? Just something to consider. read more

I finally got to try the new bbq restaurant in Simi Valley and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is very spacious, clean, and decorated well with a western theme. The smell of smoked meats is the first thing you smell when you park your car. The service is friendly, but a little slow since they didn't have many waiters early Sunday afternoon for lunch. The food was delicious and fresh. My favorite items are the pulled pork and pork ribs, both were moist, tender, and smoked well. The beef tri-tip and brisket were okay, but I would not order again. The tri-tip was bite through tender, but served well done. The brisket had some tug on it and needed to be wrapped a little longer to make tender. The chicken was juicy and very tasty. The hot link was average and the sauces were all unique and tasty. For the sides, the corn bread was a little on the dry side and the Cajun rice needed more spice and heat. The beans were good and the grilled vegetables (broccoli) were average. My children enjoyed the kids meals, but the watermelon was underwhelming. Overall, I like this place and look forward to returning. It's good to see this new restaurant work out all of their kinks and operating well. Meats were tasty and smokey and that's what counts most. read more

First time coming here and the experience was great. We ordered the Slow Smoked brisket sandwich, Smoked Tri-tip sandwich, Roadhouse beef sliders, and some Cornbread. The cornbread is delicious. It had bits of corn kernels and served with a whipped butter. The brisket had to be my favorite. It was very tender and had a nice crust to it. The Tri-tip was also good, not as tender as the brisket, but delicious non the less. They were served with either sweet potato or regular fries. The only disappointing item was the Roadhouse sliders. There really wasn't anything special about them, just seemed plain and ordinary. The Hawaiian bread was a bit dry. Although it had an aioli sauce, I think it needed something more, and the beef patties were a bit dry. The restaurant has a huge bar area in the middle of the restaurant and plenty of seating all around. They have many TV monitors around the restaurant and the bar area. It seems like a great place to watch a game while having drinks and some BBQ. It has more of a modern look inside and is very bright. They have a live band playing in every Saturday at 9pm. Our waiter Rick was the best, he always came around to see if we needed anything. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, I think we'll comeback to try Happy hour and watch a game Come baby and have some delicious BBQ. Happy Nom Nom! read more

My family of 5 and I came to Cork & Batter early June this year right after my son's graduation. I just totally forgot to leave a review until I received this notification. This was our 2nd time going. First time, we had an okay experience so we came back, but this time around, it was horrible. We went up to the front desk and hostess (or she might have been the waiter) said to wait a little bit while she clears the table. We waited and waited and watched her clean the big table she was going to seat us at. She stepped away to put the dishes away. Another couple came in and a different waiter greeted them and asked them if they had a reservation to which they replied they didn't and sat them where we were supposed to be seated so we ended up leaving. We will never go back to eat at this restaurant ever when there are so many restaurants here in Simi that offers better customer service.It was such a bad experience. Staff are so disorganized. read more
