Chuys is my favorite Tex-Mex chain!!! I always start with queso (the best ever in my opinion) and super thin fresh made chips!! The chicken fajitas are so good with fresh homemade flour tortillas!! If I could give them a zero I would. The food is not that great. We had a large party and at least two of us have been charged incorrectly. One person in my party had 2 Margarita yet her account shows three different transactions three different amounts. I charged one beer on my account and I was charged $54 for one transaction and the correct amount on the second transaction. I was told by a friend the manager here used to work at Mitchell's before it went out of business and would overcharge on purpose and pocket the money. Considering they were only open a few days, we were seated quickly and service was good. Our server, Andrew L was awesome! I didn't like the chicken tortilla soup. It was too brothy and very greasy and was lukewarm when delivered to the table. My grilled chicken salad was good, but the chicken was very cold. A few seconds on the grill would have made it much more appetizing. Salsa is a bit spicy for my taste but my husband loved it. The creamy jalapeño dip was very very good. Husband's Chile Relleno and enchilada were very good too. All in all a positive experience and will definitely go back to try other dishes. read more

When we arrived, we were greeted by a harried hostess who took our number and said she would text us with in 20 minutes to return to be seated. We waited 35 minutes, asked when we'd be seated, waited another 15, asked again and were finally seated 10 minutes later. After waiting at a table for 10 minutes with no service, we left and walked across the road to Chipotle. Had we known we would have no service for over an hour, we would have not wasted a perfectly nice Sunday afternoon in your parking lot. read more

When Chuy's first came to Jacksonville, I was excited! I have been to the Orlando location, and vaguely recall enjoying the food and atmosphere. I'm not sure if I am misremembering, or my palate has changed, or this location just isn't as great...but I was pretty disappointed. First and foremost, staff was pretty good. They were friendly and quick. The décor is ridiculous. That's really the only word I have for it. Each room is exploding with colors and patterns, it is actually pretty exhausting to the eye. At first, I thought that was unique and cool, but by the end of the night it gave me a headache. We sat in a room with the ceiling made entirely of hubcaps. Our table ordered guac to share along with the complimentary chips and salsa. Guac wasn't bad, but was scooped on top of a bowl of lettuce to make it appear to be a larger portion than it actually was. Salsa was also pretty decent, but the chips were very light and oily flour based chips. I wasn't a fan. They could barely withstand the weight of guacamole on them. We ordered the classic margaritas, which also were just okay. They weren't terrible, but I didn't even finish my second one because it was so underwhelming. I ordered a combination plate with an enchilada, taco, and chalupa. I will say, the enchilada was flavorful and my favorite part of the dish. The chalupa and taco were just okay as well. I don't really have another word for the food other than just kind of boring. I sampled my friend's food at the table and still was rather disappointed. Maybe tex-mex just isn't for me? I've always loved Mexican food, and people love this place, but maybe it's just not for me. I will give it a few more tries and if I find something amazing, I will update my review. read more

Well, I've been here twice now. I've never been truly wowed, but it was good. I ordered the combo 3 with a taco & enchilada. They were delicious. My husband ordered the chimichanga; he loved it. Here's where the stars get taken away, though. I had "refried beans" on my plate and so did my husband. Mine however looked like they'd been sitting out on someone else's plate for hours and scraped onto my plate. My husbands were DELICIOUS. I've attached pictures but unfortunately they just don't do it justice. Aside from the beans, we just didn't get the best service this time. Tonight was the second time I've eaten at Chuy's. The food is great. The steak burrito is my favorite. The beans and rice that it comes are very good as well. Very flavourful but on the spicy side. I went in tonight not expecting much because a hurricane had most of the city shut down and Chuy's was one of the few places open and it was very busy. I was very impressed with the way the staff handled what was surely a stressful situation. I sat at the bar and the bartender named Michael definitely had his work cut out for him. Lots of grumpy and impatient customers were all met with hot fresh food and cold drinks. All served quickly and with a smile. I cant wait to go back but i won't wait for another hurricane. read more

Decided to try this place after we dropped off our computer at the Best Buy next-door for service. The restaurant was quite busy and you kind of had to wind your way between the tables, which were packed in pretty tight for my taste. Food was good and came out pretty fast but was really nothing to scream about. Chips And Salsa were great, love the salsa and the chips are a little too thin and oily but tasted good. The burrito was a good size and packed full of goodies, had to ask for sour cream on the side though. Also had ask for a refill on my soda. Hubby got a drink but said he wouldn't again, was a little pricey for the size he got. Not sure if there will be a next time. read more

I like this location a lot. Theres ample parking and the service is quick. The margaritas are great and they always fill the chips. I love the queso! The quesadillas are poor though. This location makes them differently and they're not the same and its almost crunchy. They get busy and sometimes we have to wait for a table but its not so bad. read more

One bad thing is I called and ask if they have a private room for a party of 10 that is secluded. They said yes. When I came the room was not private at all. We were in the area and wanted an afternoon snack so we stopped at Chuy's. We ordered the #6 Combination to share: Enchilada, Taco, and Chalupa. We wanted to share it since it was late in the afternoon and we'd be eating dinner soon. Our waiter seemed annoyed they we were sharing it. I won't use his name here because I don't want him to lose his job but he was rude, pushy, and bothered by everything we asked for. The salsa they bring to the table with chips was SO salty. The food was nothing special. The cheese enchilada was a bit skimpy, with a dark brown sauce smothered over it. The taco shell was very chewy. And the chalupa had just a few pieces of shredded chicken in it. When we asked for a side of sour cream, they brought it to the table with lettuce and tomato already mixed into it. Weird. The decor and atmosphere inside is bizarre. It looks like it used to be a diner and then they threw some Mexican tile on the walls and some Mexican decor around and called it a TexMex restaurant. They had country music playing. We won't be back. Nothing about this place is worth the drive. Save yourself the gas and money. read more

No past issues, but had the worst experience Tuesday before Thanksgiving. We wanted to be sat on the patio because the weather was nice. It wasn't a busy Friday night crowd, their menu is condensed. Our server took our drinks, came back with them and gave us chips/salsa. We ordered our kids meals, my meal, then my husband's and queso with/without beef (2). She walked by our table and plopped a bowl of queso down, no chips - on the way to another table. There was another entrance at the other end of the patio that she must've primarily used because we didn't see her. We waited to catch her, but didn't see her again before our food came. The runner asked if I ordered anything, which I did - our server didn't put it in. We were also missing the second queso, the beef, AND CHIPS. Our server came back with the beef queso, no chips and told me she forgot to put my food in (casually, not apologetic). I asked her for a couple chip baskets, she walked by us a couple more times saying she forgot and asked if we wanted a refill. Which she also forgot. I got up and told the hostess what was happening and that I was ready to leave but didn't want to dine and dash since our server was MIA. I found it odd that no manager was ever sent to our table. Our server came out with to-go drinks after we paid, we all had coke and she said one may be tea and shrugged it off. She thought she already gave my husband his card back, and insisted she did but it was actually clipped to a pen in her pouch. So we were there shy of two hours, no service, no chips and no refills, and my food was boxed for us to go. Our server was seemingly nice, but aloof and not fit for the job of multitasking. Well, we may be done with Chuy's Town Center, and it was one of our favorites!! Things seem to be changing, not for the better. Has there been management changes?? The waitress didn't listen and then argued with the us. Took nearly 25 minutes for our tacos and nachos ( not difficult or time consuming items) to come out. Then it was wrong - covered in pico. Love the rice and beans that are included as sides and the drinks are pretty good as well. My reason for the 3-star review is the service......geeze it is bad. My family and I went previously and walked out after waiting 20 minutes for someone to come to our table. Went yesterday and waiting 15 minutes, as i was preparing my family to leave magically someone showed up. We were hungry so we stayed. This was my second time at chuys, our waiter was attentive and nice but seemed a little overwhelmed. Although busy he still managed to always keep our waters and chips filled. My sister and I each got the salad combo hers with the enchilada and mine with the mini burrito. The salads were generously portioned, I was so full from the salad I didn't try the burrito and took it home with me. My sister started with the enchilada and there was not a bite left and liked her salad. Definitely recommend the cilantro vinaigrette for the salad. Austin Texas restaurant that has came to Jax. The decor is like other sites they have including the original in Austin that I've gone to since they opened their doors. Their specialty is an Austin take on Tex-Mex. not bad execution of the dishes here but it is incredibly loud. And gets that way with just a few tables. So loud that I got my electronic hearing protection I use for shotgun sports. Don't expect to hold a conversation with the person your eating with unless you wish to yell across the table. read more

I have dined at Chuy's in Orlando so was very excited that one opened locally in the Town Center. Of course the new place always draws the crowds so we had to arrive early for lunch in order to be seated right away. I love the hand made tortillas and the decor of Chuy's. The open trunk of chips and salsa in the bar area is pretty cool. Overall a real fun atmosphere. What I do not like is the noise. Perhaps it is the loud background music, tile walls, or simply the crowds but I had a difficult time holding a conversation with my guests across the table from me at a booth and could not wait to leave because it was so very loud in the restaurant. The salsa was extra spicy so could not really enjoy it but the thin, crispy chips were perfect. I did not want to have a large lunch so ordered the beef taco lite lunch. Basically it is just a regular ground beef taco, no rice and beans which I did not want, but included a small dish queso and a tiny scoop of guacamole. Still for $7.99 there are better tacos to be had elsewhere.The enchiladas are one of the best options on the menu but with so many choices, there is something to please any Mexican food fan. read more

Disappointed! Heard a lot of hype from friends that had been to a Chuys restaurant in other locations. Wife had Taquitos that were bland and no taste, her beans were under cooked and hard. I had a had a Chalupa but is really just a Tostado and was okay, a enchilada that had so muck lime that it was unbeatable, beans were bland. I will say the chips were good but Salsa was sucky! I went on Friday 4/61/18 with a friend for dinner. We got happy hour which was nice. HH 4-7 We tried the strawberry lime margaritas. They are so good and strong! You get the free nacho bar during HH too. I tried the over roasted chicken burrito and my friend had flautas. Their food is just ok. I'd rather go to La Nopalera or Casa Maria for good Mexican. I don't like their queso. They do make their tortillas fresh which is nice. read more
