3 beef tacos with rice
Samantha V.

Stopped in for dinner and I have to say it was pretty good. We got tacos ,rice, and the Elvis platter and queso. Then for dessert we got the churros and oh my goodness were they great. We will definitely be back and a little suggestion put the queso on the rice it is life changing.

The servers are nice and the food was good. They have a good happy hour with specials for queso dip and drinks. The restaurant was pretty busy but clean and we were sat without much of a wait. Hoping to go back soon!

Meh. The place was clean. Nice decor, but a lot of the tables were so close together my hubby and I both were touching chairs with the person behind us. Very uncomfortable trying to relax and eat in that situation. The server was very nice. He didn't seem 100% on smaller details from the menu based on what we ordered and questions we asked, but he did help us to modify our order for next time. All of our dips and sauces were way over seasoned. The salsa was SUPER SALTY. The queso was ok, but definitely had that velveeta vibe. Also it was $9 for that small of a dish. Wow. I can get better queso elsewhere for almost half that. I had a beef burrito with boom boom "sauce." It was basically just the queso with more stuff in it so I wasn't impressed. The rice was very plain. Barely seasoned. The tortilla was very thick like pita. It didn't taste bad, just not my preference. The beef was very good. Seasoned well and not too much. I stole my husband's refried beans. They were very good too. You can tell those were homemade. My husband enjoyed the steak inside his burrito very much. He didn't like the big pieces of peppers/chillis in the sauce though. I want to give it another go. I might do carry out though purely based on how cramped it is

The white sauce they bring out with your chips is delicious! We ended up buying extra to bring home.

Chips are good. Atmosphere nice enough. The food is mediocre though. Don't plan on returning.

Darts, Touch Tunes jukebox box, daily specials, $2 tacos in house after 9pm, and, board games galore. Great place, independently owned, and, some of the best food in Lafayette. PS- make sure to try their house made queso AND their own homemade hot sauce! (Dive Sauce) Cheers!

But I wandered into Sixth Street Dive and--don't tell Bloomington--they actually won me over. The burgers are the size of a freshman textbook and taste a whole lot better. Wings? Spicy enough to make me forget I was surrounded by black and gold. And the beer is so cold I almost forgave the guy at the bar for wearing a Purdue hoodie (almost). The vibe is pure dive-bar magic: pool tables, live music, no pretension. Nobody cares if you're a Hoosier, a Boiler, or just a random traveler who took the wrong exit off I-65. By the end of the night, I was laughing, full, and--dare I say it--having a great time in Lafayette. Sixth Street Dive: proof that even behind enemy lines, a Hoosier can still find happiness... as long as the beer's this cold.

We travel the country as healthcare workers and always enjoy finding the best local food spots…read morewherever we stay. Since we'll be living in Zionsville for a while, we've been searching for our new go-to restaurants. Today we tried Salty Cowboy for the first time, and overall, we were impressed. We ordered the chips and salsa, tacos, and margaritas, and everything was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. This could have been a 5-star review , but the chips tasted a bit stale and the salsa was somewhat bland and could have used a little more spunk. Aside from that, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend checking out Salty Cowboy if you're looking for good Mexican food in the area.

Apparently chips and salsa are no longer free. I had the short rib taco which was full of meat and quite tasty. The pickled onions on it though weren't really very pickled. They were okay but not great. I also had the mahi mahi taco and it was great and I loved the pineapple salsa.I opted for grilled shrimp but you could get them fried if you want. The big disappointment was the pollo con arroz that my husband ordered. It was luke warm. The waitress said no problem and she could get him a new dish quickly. She came back with that she claimed was a whole new dish in less than 5 minutes! I am sorry you can't make a whole new dish in 5 minutes. The rice was steaming hot. The chicken looked like chunks of boiled white chicken that had a cold crema under them so chicken was not hot. Not a lot of flavor. Very disappointing. Service was excellent.
