Had a quick meal before dropping the wife off at the airport. The chips are always awesome and salsa is great. We always ask for obscene amounts of jalapeño ranch dipping sauce for chips. We love it so much we'd be ok if they just handed us a tub!! My steak fajitas were awesome as always. The marinade is great and the give you a good portion. I've been here a couple times and honestly I would be ok with never coming again in my life. The food is bleh and the waitresses are either lazy or too inexperienced to be working at a location like this. Drinks were empty more often than filled and we all got our food an hour after ordering.. and then we had to wait 10 minutes between getting the food and eating because she never gave us silverware. Definitely the best place to go after a night of drinking. The chips with the creamy jalapeño sauce and salsa was great. My stacked enchiladas was delicious. The egg on top created this nice sauce that just put all that corn tortilla and chicken and sauce together. Yummmmm. The rice and beans were cooked just right. Nice flavor and went well with my meal. My girlfriends and I are in Nashville for a girls weekend getaway and stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. After taking the Grand Ole Opry tour we decided to check out Chuy's for dinner. It was well worth the 45 min wait! Our waitress was Jennifer A and she was AMAZING! The place was packed and very busy and we noticed that all the waitstaff were very calm, attentive and not rushing anyone. Based on other reviews we had to try the jalapeño ranch sauce which comes with your chips and salsa, that stuff is like crack! It's SO GOOD!!! My friend is a ranch lover so she was in heaven! I had the Deluxe Enchiladas for dinner, which weren't my favorite. Not that they were bad, I've just had better. This wouldn't stop me for returning, there are other items I would like to try next time. Now let's get to dessert, the entire reason to stop here! Our server Jennifer A said the Tres Leches cake is homemade and literally described it as "sex in your mouth" she could tell I was still hesitant because I've never had it before and it's never sounded appealing to me. She said if I got it and didn't like it, she would buy it! Challenge accepted! I wanted to hate it, but dear lord that cake was the most delicious dessert I've ever had in my life! Terrible experience! I should have known that the unfriendliness of the bar staff would only be the beginning of a complete waste of time and money. You would think a "TEX-MEX" style restaurant would pride themselves on a good margarita? Nope, hands down the absolute worst I have ever had. Ok,ok.. Then the cheese dip should be amazing right?? Nope, Velveeta cheese and canned ROTEL without a doubt. Which at a super bowl party is great, but definitely not a restaurant where it costs 8+ dollars. She has us try different sauces, kept our drinks and chips full, brought us a sample of the new flavors of margaritas to try (the blackberry was amazing, by the way), and I had the best piña colada I've ever had. We have eaten several times at various Chuy's locations in Nashville but tonight was by far the biggest disappointment. 1. Margeritas were too strong and no taste. 2, French fried in kids meal were overdone. 3. Got 2 orders of fish tacos instead of 1 shrimp and 1 fish and they did not taste great. 4. Not the best Mexican food I've had. Started with the whit salsa which, by itself on the chip, was way to salty. Now the chips themselves were crisp fresh and good. The pico / red sauce was ok. Asked for the hatch salsa. That was good. Probably the best thing I had. It does have a unique savory flavor. The food was average for Mexican food at best. At least our waitress did a good just b whole set of us. This might have gotten 3 stars but the bathrooms were deplorable. And I'm a dude! That almost knocked it down to 1. I want to post first that I am aware that people are short staffed but there is a difference in short staffed and plain bad service. Well we got here for a table the hostess acts as if she is lost and quite rude as if she hates her own existence. She is too worried about having a conversation with some male waiter and chomping on her food when leaving the kitchen. We were supposed to have a 20 minute wait it has been well over that at this point. So once we get seated I'll post the time we have been waiting....we waited 40 minutes and had to ask about getting a seat before we got it they seemed aggravated because we asked. But we are seated and will see how the food and service goes now. We have been sitting 10 minutes and have not seen a soul. 15 minutes and someone finally came to the table not our waiter but someone so we will take it. This guy was quite pleasant!. Our waiter finally came over only 25 minutes after we were seated. ... but our waiter was Ok he was super busy and the food was good. So that was a plus. If it was just the food it would have gotten more stars but experience is just as important. The blonde hostess is the worst and does not set a good tone for the restaurant a hostess is one of the most important jobs for doing so. read more

This is a good restaurant; not great but good. When I compare it to a chain like Chili's, I would pick Chili's. Their prices are better. Their service is faster. Their servers are not as obnoxious. My experience started with a long wait (just 2 of us) after watching others that came in later being seated ahead of us. The host wasn't listening and recorded my phone number with the wrong area code. Simple mistake but you'd think with their location near the Grand Ole Opry that they would watch for that. No apology. The matter was ignored. Finally seated. The chips are light and flavorful. The salsa is more like pico. Asked for salsa and that started an issue with the server. So the high-ish rating on Yelp! led me to give this place a try. I'm basing my review in context - a chain restaurant attached to a mall. I just want decent quality food and am not concerned about how "authentic" or whatever it is. I absolutely love the wait list option through the Yelp! app. Get on the list right from your phone and it tells you how big the list is in front of you. This is very nice. Service was very good. Check in was easy and they were going to text (and call) us when the table was ready. Our server was very timely and professional. Appetizers - The chips are pretty good. The salsa accompanying it had a nice taste to it. They also serves a "white" sauce that is unique and very flavorful. Because these were very good, we took a shot at the queso. Another hit! A little spice, but not too spicy! The queso is too thin, however, and it falls off the chips easily, so you may make a mess. Drinks - I heard the Sangria checked in as "very good". The entire drink list seems pretty big. The water I had was excellent and refilled timely. I wanted to see what this place had to offer, so I got a taco, chalupa, and enchilada combination. All of the items were pretty good. I read a few reviews about too much microwaving and I'll agree. The plate looking like someone microwaved it about 5 minutes too long. Chicken was good, the rice has some good flavors, and the beans were decent enough. They only serve ground beef, which is a little bit of a let down. I'd like to see what they could do with steak pieces. Overall I was satisfied with the place. I'm not going out of my way to go back, but I'll leave it as a place to stop in if you're at that mall and want that kind of food. read more

We went here for the first time the other day. There was a long line just to get into the building so we assumed it must be good food. We had a bit of a wait because of the demand but not too long. It would be nice if they had a bit more space for people waiting. It was entertaining to watch the tortillas being made while waiting. When we were seated and served chips and salsa it also came with some sort of ranch dip that was pleasantly good. I ordered the boom boom enchiladas and they were delicious and perfectly spicy! For those of us who waited nearly 30 minutes for table, frustration and patience hit wall, especially when you see people walking in seated immediately and lots of open tables. Dear fine purveyor of "authentic Mexican food" (who seems to think that the "Mexican-by-the-numbers" chain joints are authentic Mexican, and who hated Chuy's so much he apparently went to two different locations to decide he hated it, since he reviewed both of them), I can't believe someone went here thinking they were going to eat "authentic Mexican food." Read much dude? Check the front of the menu. They never claimed to be authentic Mexican. It's chain Tex Mex. It's a great replacement for the failing Don Pablos that you have to drive 3 hours for now, since they closed half of them. Their food is pretty dern tasty, but no, it's not authentic Mexican food, "for the dumbasses that like that crap." I guess authentic Mexican restaurants would make their own tortillas in-house. (OOPS! Chuy's does that.) I'll take fresh food that's made by health department standards any day over "authentic Mexican." Try the Comida Deluxe, for a little bit of everything.
