First, a 30 minute wait for a table, ordered half and half margarita that came mostly full of ice cubes. Then, after getting a table and ordering, 30 min wait for food. A total disappointment. Mex-cobb salad - limp field greens and outer ice berg lettuce leaves served as the bed for cold, hard, tasteless chicken, grated cheese, past ripe tomatoes, scant green peppers and avocado. Baja Shrimp tacos - nearly tasteless shrimp but nice beans. Beef Fajitas - an abundance of food, beef was mostly tasteless. Very sad because we had heard many people rave about Chuy's food. So my review will start with service and go to food quality: We went to Chuys tonight around 8:00 for dinner and there was a 25 min wait and so we chose the bar. I will say the fact that they built such a small Chuys for the size of the town will come back to bite them in the ass eventually. So the bartender was really nice and had the drinks flowing in a timely fashion. They were nice and the staff I did talk to were helpful. Now food: I ordered the chicken soft tacos on corn tortillas (instead of flour) and my husband got nachos w chicken. The food took about 30+ min to come out and so luckily we ordered a quac before. I will say if the chuys dining area is small, I can imagine the kitchen must be half of the size of a normal location. So once I got my food the tortillas were old and cold (so chewy and not soft). The chicken wasn't their roasted chicken but some hard cold fajita meat and over all was just weird. They ran out of onion and they put my lettuce/tomatoes on the side and a small portion of beans and rice. I should have taken a pic, but I was amazed on how shit quality the food was. I asked for fresh corn tortillas to try and eat the beans and rice, but Honestly I was pretty much over the food after waiting so long and having bad food. We did hear that they ran out beef, and I think salsa (again).. on top of not having onion. My husband's food luckily was good and what I am used to from Chuys. I would say if you have the time drive to San Marcos and go to that location. Unless you are coming here for drinks and appetizers.. it's not worth it. The reviews on bad food and slow service are right.. ‍. Just for perspective we have been eating at different Chuys in Austin for over 10 years, San Marcos location for maybe 3 and the San Antonio location off and on the last 10 (when in SA)... so we definitely know the Chuys standards for things. read more

Saturday night food stop after a long day of baseball and we left dissatisfied. We walked in with a party of 4 just before 8pm. We were greeted and told the wait was about 15 mins. I rate the food 2-star and the service 5-star. Went today for lunch and the service was great...attentive but not overbearing. When we needed something, the server seemed to be there immediately. We have had a bad experience each time we have gone to a Chuy's, but I crave the jalapeño dip so we keep trying in hopes it will be better. Well after a handful of times we finally have had an experience to brag about! All ima say is, Dylan our server was hands down great! Very attentive, professional, and personable! Our food was out on time plus hot, and drinks were constantly filled! We went between 6:30 pm and 9pm. We will definitely be returning to this location as long as we get him as a server! I came into Chuys's a couple days ago with my girl the parking lot was full but they sat me pretty quickly into the heated pati, it was a beautiful day. Our server Peter was very cheerful and gave us great drink recommendations and we landed in the grand mas rocking Rita which was great. food came out pretty quick we got Panchos and comida deluxe food was good but they should put a little less sauce on the enchilada. overall good experienc. read more

We got here at 330 on a Monday afternoon. They said they didn't have enough servers so we're looking at least a 20 minute wait. Then we noticed the only place to sit and wait was outside on wet benches. They have all these empty tables but wouldn't sear us so we just seated ourselves.
