My daughter came into town to celebrate Father's Day. She noticed a new Chuy's in New Braunfels and asked if we wanted to try it. Loving Chuy's, we said "let's go ". As we were driving to the location, she noticed that you could get on the waiting list in the app. We knew that due to the holiday it would be a long wait, so she signed up. That turned out to be a great idea as the place was packed, and we only had to wait 5-10 minutes. We were taken to our table and were delighted to meet our server, Liza. She was so personable. It seemed like she had known us for years. Whoever is doing the hiring is doing a great job. We ordered queso as an appetizer and knew it would be a while as the kitchen was slammed. Liza kept our drinks, chips, and salsa full, so we were well taken care of. Our orders arrived a short time after the queso and all orders were just as ordered. One of the worst restaurant experiences ever!! Bartender seemed annoyed when we sat at the bar near where she was watching her phone. We ordered drinks and they were good. We ordered chicken enchiladas and the tortillas were not cooked at all. I needed a knife to cut them and the chicken was very dry inside. Inedible. I showed the bartender and she said I will show the manager. She then asked if we wanted our checks. I asked her what the manager said and she said something about gas not working in restaurant...??? What? She said she will discount a military discount and took $1.60 off a $90.00 bill. This is insane! The bartender continued to be so freaking rude. Are paying she totally ignored us. I will never ever return to this restaurant. There were very very few people in the restaurant and now I know why. Horrible service and food! read more

I'm a big fan of Chuy's so much to the point that my husband took me here on a date for my birthday dinner. But this was by far the worst Chuy's experience I've ever had. When we walked in we were not greeted by the hostess. We stood there a few minutes and then I approached the stand to ask for a table for two. She responded with "We're cleaning off tables". Odd thing to say. Once we were seated our server came over with chips and dip, and took our order. This was the only positive during our visit. Our waitress was very nice, and handed the situation I think the best she could have. We waited for 90 mins, and no food ever came. Our server went to check on our order several times and said told us they said it was "almost done". We didn't order anything complicated, but burritos. Eventually she came back to tell us that the kitchen had lost our ticket, and had lied to her. She informed us that they were just now starting to make it, or we were welcome to leave. First time here - we live in Oklahoma City. Visiting friends in the area and Midway point from shopping on this Sunday we were looking for food. Previous visits to location in Norman Oklahoma and Oklahoma City and in Texas multiple times. We love Chuy's ! The food is consistently good!!! This visit didn't disappoint! My wife and I have come to an agreement that if we cannot make our minds on where to eat, we then default to Chuy's. Their food is always fabulous , there's one usually located close to where we happen to be, and we know we will have a good meal there. I appreciate that they offer veggie options and in the past, have very much enjoyed their meat options, not mention their creamy jalapeno sauce is out of this world. This restaurant ( Chuy's New Braunfels) is absolutely filthy and incredibly dirty. The takeout section smells like vomit and trash, and not forgetting the floors which is sticky and black with dirt. Against my better judgment, l placed a takeout order, but after standing there smelling the trash can by the door, I got so sick to the stomach, I had to leave before my order was completed. Another wonderful experience at Chuy's, this time at the New Braunfels location which opened just a month ago. 5star service from Caden. He was busy but constantly checked on us and made sure our needs were met. Food wise, everything was delicious and piping HOT. The chips were fresh and sooo good with the creamy jalapeno sauce. We of course had to try the eclipse 'Rita and we loved it too. My only regret....I didn't purchase one of their "dark side of the spoon" shirts. At last.... The Tex-mex Gods have heard our cries here in New Braunfels. Us New Braunfelans finally have our own Chuy's. No more driving to San Marcos or Selma! While on Facebook, I noticed Chuy's New Braunfels was having a Friends and Family event through invite only. Free food and alcoholic beverages at a deeply discounted price with proceeds going to charity. I clicked the link, and was fortunate enough to land a spot for their soft opening. The wife and I strolled in at our allotted time. We were greeted at the door by a friendly face, and were given menus. The process was explained, and were walked promptly to our seats. It was a limited menu, but with a lot of their great classics. Christian, our waiter, greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. We were offered queso or guacamole, so we opted for the former. Christian was off to grab our drinks, and we perused the menu. The wife chose the taco salad, and I chose the comida deluxe, but substituted queso for the Tex-mex sauce. We also did not forget the famous creamy jalapeño sauce as well. After a nice visit with the wife, and in good time, our food arrived. It looked and tasted amazing. The food matched up to the Chuy's standard we were accustomed to, and there was zero disappointment. Not one complaint. While we ate, we had about three or four different managers check up on us, and our drink glasses stayed full. Not one complaint at all. The food was great, Christian did a great job, and the environment was great. Although the food was free, we tipped generously. Our experience was outstanding. This was no surprise to us though as the Chuy's experience has always been great in everyone we go to. The soft opening was a success. I'm looking forward to a return visit, and enjoying one of their great margaritas. Highly recommend. Would like to thank the folks at Chuy's for the invite and the free food. All though the food and service is always good, EVERYTIME we request to sit outside, there's "not a server outside" Me and my family have been in on different days at different times and always request a patio table. Most times when the weather is nice, and the last time we were told "none of the servers want an outside table, so there's none available now". But what I can't get out of my mind was the lady cleaning around us most of the time during our meal. She would sweep the nasty floor and THEN sweep the chairs and booth with the same broom . My kids booster seat was covered w clumped old beans too but I carry wipes bc those usually aren't very clean. We then waited another 15 minutes and asked the host for an update. The worst restaurant experience Ive ever had in my forty years of life. My husband surprised me with a date night out for the first time in 6 months. We had gone to play put put golf and afterwards he went to take me out to eat. We ordered our food and the bartender named Porder said he would not serve me because I was slurring my order?! I did not have anything to drink the entire day? My husband talked to him and clearly statied I was not driving and he did not care about customer service. We then realized he did not give a crap about the $30 tip we planned on giving him. (We came in late and our plan was to give a hefty tip to whoever served us since it was near closing time. I would have rather given it to the female I saw cleaning up tables and doing side work.) We got up to leave and Porter said "thanks for being an adult about it" That was unnecessary and showed that he was a very young adult. He should've asked his manager to address the situation and handle it for him thats the usual policy in restaurants. All we wanted to do was have a good meal with a restaurant we are familiar with and this was our first time ever being in this location. Our server, Caden, was very attentive and came back to check on our drinks and chips were full. Kudos for Caden for listening to my special request for a Roasted Chicken Salad with Sliced Avocados and to the kitchen for creating a delicious no dairy, no egg, no gum vinaigrette for the salad!
